I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).

I am the author of the DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA series, which includes FORSAKEN, AWAKEN, CHOSEN, HEARKEN, PROVEN (2014).I love all books, but really enjoy writing young adult, paranormal romances. I've loved to write for as long as I can remember. My first published work was my poem RED in second grade (you guessed it - it was a poem about the color red - life altering, I know) that won me 5 gold stars and a spot in my elementary school's poetry book. That's when my addiction to the written word officially began. I was the only kid in fifth grade that actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Go ahead and laugh - its okay.

When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband.

I'm in shock, I'm in awe, I am dumbfounded, and I am in love with this series. Forsaken was just a preamble. It was a grain of sand, maybe even a little itty bitty baby sea turtle that you followed behind ever so slowly to this massive ocean called Awaken. I cannot gush any more. I can't breathe after that ending, and holy crap thank goodness Chosen will be released in a few months. I will be going crazy until then! Thank you Kristen Day for conjuring up such a magnificent story with such epic descriptions! I was never bored, and I didn't ever want to stop reading!!

"I wondered what it must be like to be Finn Morrison, Future Prime and hottest guy on earth. Being that sexy must come with immense responsibilty and pressure. Oh, and the whole future-Prime-thing must be hard too. I giggled at my own thought; consequently attracting odd looks from my roommates."

This book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review via Lovers of Paranormal Group on Goodreads.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author for a honest review.

Judge-a-book-by-its-title Me: Awaken? Just plain old Awaken? Yawn.... doesn't sound too interesting. But the blurb is amazing. I am willing to try it out. Kinda.
Judge-a-book-by-its-cover Me: *chants* "Blue, blue. Not a clue. Of what tale you tell." The cover is not particularly attractive. If I saw this book in a store, I would probably overlook it.

*starts reading*

Umm... okay! Interesting prologue like the previous book

*middle of the book*

I have no idea how I am going to describe my feelings while reading this. I could write a million words and still not succeed. Or I could just leave this blank because I am so awestruck by the story.

At the beginning, I had absolutely no desire to read this and kept putting it off. But once I got pulled in, it was impossible to stop. Here's a titbit of a conversation that went on inside my head before a Biology test:

"Biology: Study me. Study me. Study me.

Awaken: READ ME! READ ME! READ ME!

Biology: You have a test!

Awaken: Please read just one more chapter? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Me: Alright master.

*emerges after reading ten chapters*"

And I guess that sums it up pretty much. It was unputdownable! Exciting. Thrilling. Adrenaline-raising. And that is the greatest praise a book can ever get!

I find it weird that I gave this book five (okay, actually 4.5) stars while I gave the first one only three stars. I guess it is because the romance is no longer obsessive-compulsive. There are threats and dangers bigger than your average love triangle. I have still not come to terms with the sexy, mysterious Finn. I guess I have something against such perfect males.

*reads the end of the book*

OMG! OMG! OMG! This is just too amazing for words. Kristen: HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME???? YOU DARE LEAVE SUCH A CLIFFHANGER KRISHANGER AT THE END? I HATE YOU! NOW I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE THIRD BOOK! I SO TOTALLY CAN'T! I just wish that the ending is as supermegafoxyawesomehawt as I wan't it to be.

OH. MY. GOD!!!! Let me first say that the end of the book is a cliffhanger that left me wanting More! More! More! This is such a compelling, all-encompassing story that made me feel all of the highs and lows that Anastasia is encountering in her life. The storyline is fresh and new - definitely unique - and I have enjoyed every minute of reading Awaken and it's predecessor "Forsaken"!!! I am going to have a hard time being patient awaiting the third book in the series "Chosen"!! I could not put this series down! I don't want to give away any of the story in my review, but I can honestly say that this book is great for YA and older readers. I highly recommend this series! The 'Daughters Of The Sea' trilogy is one of the best series that I have ever read!!

DISCLAIMER: This book was gifted to me by the author (through the Goodreads website) in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own, and no money or other compensation was provided for this review.

Oh my goodness! What a ride this story is taking me on! Sometimes you find a book that just grabs you right from the beginning and doesn't let go....Awaken is that book! Just like Forsaken before it, Awaken draws you in...You feel for Stasia and Finn, and root for them throughout the book. And let me just say I want friends like Willow, Phoebe and Carmen on my side! The way they care about each other, take up for each other, and stand together against the odds just makes you want to grab the pom poms and cheer! I love how this book showed the darker side of what people sometimes have to do to be with the one you love. And my gosh, the ending... It is going to be excruciating waiting for Chosen!!!!

This is really a 4.5! But I rounded up due to the fact there was still way more good to this then there was bad. :) I loved it, just like I loved the first one. The story was still strong, and there was still a lot of mythology. The idea of Tydes and Sirens and Sons etc is great. It's a lot more unique then most of what's out there, and I'm so glad that I was able to read this book and the first one. Day creates a great, vivid world where I'm forced to just lose myself and let the characters take me where they will. Which is probably why I had a few issues with this one that weren't in the first. For one, Stasia's character. She was waaaaay less independent in this book. Why? I don't mean in the sense that she had to always have her friends around or what not, because honestly that wasn't the case. In fact, there were a few times where she withheld information from them for a while and I was just kind of like, why aren't you saying anything? That's what her friends are there for, after all. Really the dependant issues were on Finn. Suddenly, it was like she couldn't go anywhere or do anything herself without having Finn there. Huh? What happened to this immensely strong girl I fell in love with? Stasia's past has a lot of horrible stuff in it, and because of that this character was so incredible strong, but in this book she cried almost every five seconds, even when the issue wasn't really cry worthy. She should be used to holding in her tears by now, at least enough that she isn't spilling them every other page. That was seriously what I loved most about her in the first book. Don't get me wrong, Stasia could still kick some major butt, however she was almost completely reliant on Finn for the first half of the book. He told her what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Then she did it. I understand he knows more about this stuff then she does and he needs to teach it to her, ok cool, but when it came down to the important stuff she almost never asked questions. Yes, the mystery surrounding Finn is important to the central plot line, and it helps to keep the reader guessing about him, yet at the same time after everything Stasia's already been though I would think she'd have been instincts then all that. I mean, it's very clear that he's hiding something. At least if she'd acted like she was more aware of that and pressed him more about it, that would be one thing. But she didn't. I trust him too, but come on. There's a point where she gets angry at him after over hearing Nadia and Priscilla talking about something Finn isn't tell her. She doesn't really have a right to be that angry though. Considering she almost never bothers asking him questions, she has no right to be pissed she's not getting answers. She was this strong independent character who was suddenly very much dependent on her boyfriend. He instructs Carmen to give her swimming lessons. Stasia doesn't needs swimming lessons. For one, she can breathe underwater, Carmen can not. For two, we've seen how well she can swim. There really wasn't a point to that being in there, and we never actually even see it happening. That's one skill she didn't need help from Finn with and somehow he managed to point out she did anyway... :/ In another part she actually tells Finn she's not used to burdening anyone with her problems. Umm...then what have you been doing this entire time? Right. And towards the end, she finds out yet another thing Finn did behind her back (moonstone anyone?) yet doesn't get the least bit upset about it. I'm sorry, but personally I wouldn't be too pleased finding out that despite all of the times I've trusted and confided in him, he didn't do the same. Yes, she needed to find the stone on her own. Could he have told her he planted it afterwards? Yup! But he didn't. Too much mystery isn't a good thing. It feels too much like lying or withholding to me. One last scene that really bothered me, when her adoptive family showed up. It was way too short, and far too underdeveloped. There wasn't really even a purpose to it. It just sort of happened, like there was fear we might somehow forget who those unimportant characters were or something. We didn't. At least, I didn't. I still very much remembered her horrible "sister" who basically made her life crap and her social life non-existent. Which is why I wanted something to happen. Like, Finn and the guys could have shown up and she could have seen them and been jealous, or at least realized Stasia wasn't a loser and was actually doing much better without her. It's petty, sure, but that's Stasia's teenage right. Why not let her have it? Just for there to be some little bop over the head that Stasia has a pretty good life and is popular with out her. Ok, now that I've totally ranted out the bad (sorry that was soooo long) like I mentioned earlier there's still soooo much good. I still love Finn, don't get me wrong. I do. He's strong willed, intelligent, and really is in love with Stasia. And once in the underworld, the good old Stasia I know and love from book one comes back full force. She's quick witted, take charge, and looks out for her friends. She's strong and brave, and even though Finn isn't there to save her she manages just fine without him. I love everything that happens down there, it's very well thought out and has tons of details. I could really picture that metallic glint to everything. At first Carmen's odd behavior threw me, because she's usually the tough one, but then I realized that's probably why she was the one to crack. It made sense, and in the end was completely believable. The very very end was great. Nice twist to leave the reader wanting for more, and seriously, do I want more. I actually think I might go insane waiting for the next book to come out. That one major issue I had aside I still loved Awaken! I would without a doubt recommend people read this, it's worth purchasing and reading a few times. I know before the next one comes out I'll probably reread these. Kristen Day is a great writer who really knows how to yank you into the worlds she's created. I still totally wish Carmen, Phoebe, and Willow were my best friends. And I'm still way in love with Finn. Sigh.

Sometimes you click with a book and other times you don't. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to click with this book. While it contains interesting characters, intriguing mythology and a pace that I enjoy, I just didn't fall in love with Awaken. If I would have read this book a year ago, I know I would have loved it. I would have continued the series and gushed about it to anyone and everyone. But unfortunately and fortunately in the last year I have read some amazing books. Not only did they take a piece of my heart but they completely changed my interactions and expectations of books. Now I’m always looking for something that immerses me in the world in which I am reading and also makes the world around me disappear. I'm always looking for the next book or series that will steal another piece of my heart while I am engrossed in feeling everything the main character is feeling. While Awaken is a nice book, it just didn't speak to me on that level.

One of the main reasons I didn't completely connect with Awaken was because of Stasia and Finn's relationship. I did desperately want more from them. More heart to hearts, more passion, more honesty and a little less cheesiness. I love mystery and peril but sometimes it’s bothersome when such a tight unit that is supposed to love each other more than life itself isn't always honest with each other. A lot of times I can make myself overlook that issue. Everyone is human and has faults so why would characters be any different? But when I can’t completely love a couple then it becomes something that sticks out. The delayed conversations and hidden truths become something that I am not able to get past and therefore it taints the relationship even more.

Awaken does have a strong heroine who has a sexy boyfriend and a great group of friends. The mythology is fun and the story flows at a nice pace. I just wanted more than what it was able to deliver. More passion, more honesty, and mainly more feelings invoked in me. But even though I didn't connect with it doesn't mean you won't! Here's hoping you do!

The story is amazingly good that it should be included in The Mythology! Really! The story is well thought of that it seems like I'm reading the actual mythology, more exciting if I may say :)

Honestly, I didn't expected the book to be so much good. The first book is good, I actually rated it 4 stars, but the second book being sssoooooo good is beyond my expectations! Right from the very first word, I couldn't put it down. I find myself laughing on some scenes, surprisingly scared in some parts (I wasn't expecting a horror part here..haha) and breathless anticipating every word and action that would happen.

Stasia's character has definitely grew up. She bacame the courageous character that has become worthy of being a leader. Her actions and words proves that she is ready to be the goddess and the siren leader. Her relationship with Finn is more adorable as ever. I love their conversations and banters. I find myself laughing and uncontrollably smiling everytime they are together. Finn and Stasia'a relationship is what I think real relationships look like in real life... well except being the Goddess and Son of Charon part of course!

I realized how I miss Stasia's friends when I read of them in this book. Even with everything that Stasia's going through, the story did not end up heavy because of them. Sense of Humor during a tragic event really made this story feel good!

Though I love the book, there's still something I wished it had. Again, I haven't seen the real potential of Stasia's power. She didn't even have the chance to use it fighting with her enemies and when she needed it the most. Instead, I only see her power during her reveries. But her other godly powers are absent again. Well, except for that part that she used to do waves for her friends surfing. Other than that, I was quite disappointed that the power that the author built up as unique, powerful and incredible is MIA. I'm hoping this would be put in good use in the next book, and I'm praying that Nadia would receive the full wrath of it!!!

Speaking of Nadia, I don't want to put some spoiler here, except that this is a total cliff-hanger! Really, when I was celebrating that Stasia has the final laugh and everything... that happens...Really? and February 2013 for the next book??? Really???! Please Ms. Day, tell me you're planning to release it sooner...

OH MY FREAKING WORD! KRISTEN DAY, YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN! Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Last page of novel again shocked me into silence!

Awaken is part two in Kristen Day's truly awe-inspiring series, Daughters of the Sea. It continues telling the story of Stasia, a young woman destined to become the leader of the Tydes.

In order to fulfil her destiny, Stasia has to take the journey to the underworld to become immortal. In this instalment, Stasia has to face her demons both internally as well as physically.

We go on this journey with Stasia, the love of her life Finn and her friends that has so many twists and turns! The story is brilliantly written leaving the reader experiencing a myriad of emotions!

Each page kept me captivated and biting my nails! Can't wait for book 3 - Chosen!

I read the first book in the Daughters of the Sea series called Foresaken. I was captivated right from the start and thought this new author did a FANTASTIC job and could not wait to read Awaken (this book).

I read Awaken the day it was released on Oct. 2nd. I want to shout to the world: THIS BOOK FREAKING ROCKED!!!! I love the journey these characters go through in Awaken and releasing this in October was perfect, because it contains parts that will make the hair raise up on your arms, but at the same time you are cheering for Stasia to succeed in her life goal. The ending will knock you off your tail! I won't spoil it for you ;) The author definitely set the bar high for the 3rd book in the series.

P.S. I am also enjoying the author's blog and webpage.

This was a wonderful second book to this series! I loved every minute of it. Thank you, Kristen Day, for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. I love this series!

"Behind the confidence, beneath the intensity, and hiding amongst the darkness was an innocence so pure it almost blinded me. The wildfire condensed into a river of hot lava that flowed straight to my soul; feeding something even deeper and stronger than love itself."

And that is why I love Finn as much as Stasia does. He would do anything for Stasia. The whole book had a bunch of surprises and reveals about Finn, and I kept waiting for a shocking surprise and any moment to destroy me. And he did have some secrets, but I am so happy he never truly broke my heart.

Then there is Stasia who the book is mostly about. She is preparing for her journey to the Underworld to gain immortality. I love that she is a very strong lead female character, and would sacrifice everything for love of Finn and her friends. I think this quote from the book says it best about her character:

"Every day I wake up is a day I've fought for. Every mistake, every laugh, every tear, and every sunrise; I've earned through years of abuse and pain. I carry these memories with me as a reminder of who I am and what's truly worth fighting for."

Awaken has a new creepy villian brought in to torture Stasia and cause trouble for her and her friends. She is the Princess of the Underworld, Nadia. She screams villian, and I had no trouble hating her. She causes a lot of trouble, and leads up to the surprise ending. The ending to this book was actually very beautiful. But the last page throws you a cliffhanger that will shock you, and have you screaming for the last book, Chosen.

Have you ever felt anxiety the whole time you are reading a book because it is just that good and you know that surprises you may like or may not like or going to happen? That is how I felt reading Awaken. Kristen Day writes in a descriptive way that flows and keeps you turning the pages. There was romance that was not overdone and has you screaming for more, and lots of heart racing action. How could there not be good action when the Underworld is involved. I highly recommend this series to everyone!

If the first book had me intrigued, the second one has me hooked!

I found myself on the edge of my seat for every twist and turn of this book (and there are a lot!). It is anything but predictable. Stasia finds out about more of her abilities and what is needed for her to complete her journey to the Underworld and back unscathed, not to mention Finn’s big secret! With the presence of Nadia, a new arrival from California who already seems to hate her, and the unexpected run-ins with bloody ghosts, having to die just to enter the Underworld is proving to be the least of her worries.

Kristen Day does a wonderful job depicting a world that can be both beautiful and horrifying. The imagery created is amazing and the dialogue is witty. The pace of the story was steady and never dull. I was impressed with her ability to blend both the light and macabre sides of the story so well together. It definitely makes her style of writing unique.

The only con for me was, like the first one, I still didn’t feel like I got to know who Finn was. He was present on and off for the first half of the book but then MIA for most of the second half. He was starting to feel like Edward from the second book of the Twilight series; talked about more than actually present. Yea, we know he loves Stasia and we find out his troubled destiny, but other than that his character still felt a little two dimensional for me. I felt I knew Stasia’s roommates better than I knew him. I couldn’t help but wish for some bonus chapters from Finn’s point of view (especially for that scene with Stasia just before Halloween and the last scene at the end!). Maybe it’s just me, who knows, I’ve been told I could be broken :D

Regardless, this was not enough to stop me from desperately wanting to read the third book. The new insight about her dad and the cliff hanger ending are killing me! I must know what happens next! I seriously don’t know what to write without giving spoilers, but you must know you have to read this series. It is fresh and unique and leaves you needing more!

I am thankful the author gave me a copy of this book for an honest review.

~*I received a copy of this book from the Lovers of Paranormal Goodreads group in exchange for an honest review.*~

Awaken is about Hannah Whitman, now Anastasia, as she uncovers her destiny. She finds that she will be the next goddess of the Tydes and must defeat Keto, the current goddess of both the Tydes and Sirens, after her 18th birthday. Before that, though, she must travel to the Underworld via death and swim in the River Styx to complete her essence so that she may become immortal because her father was human. When things seem to be going right, however, a new girl shows up named Nadia and she is intent on making sure Anastasia never sees her birthday.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal fantasy of the young adult variety with a splash of heart-stopping romance. This book is definitely meant for older teens and up.

Overall, I love this story. After reading Forsaken, I had already fallen in love with the world and characters and I found them easier and easier to relate to the more I read. Each new trial Anastasia must face, I feel as if I am facing it with her. This series is the kind of page-turning, heartstopping, suspenseful paranormal-fantasy read that I just can't even tear myself away from. Mrs. Day has made a devout fan of me with Anastasia's story and I can't wait to dive right into Chosen.

Okay first let me say ARGH!! OMFG!! SERIOUSLY!!!! YOU'RE ENDING IT LIKE THAT!!!! I AM SO ANGRY!!! Now that I have that out of the way let me explain.

Kristen Day has created the cliff hanger to end all cliff hangers! And that has me furious that I now have to wait until February to continue on this glorious story.

This book picks up were we left off in her first book Forsaken. The beautiful and lovely Pasha and the equally adorable Finn. Their escapades in this book are as exciting as they were in the first book.

Day's character creation is fabulous. Each character in her story has a unique personality and I love each and every one. Well except for the bad guys those I HATE! As I am supposed to. In this story we are introduced to a new girl Nadia. And boy is she a *$^#&! Yes I know I didn't say what she is but I am sure you will read the book and determine the same thing I did that she is one twisted person!

The story line moves along and it keeps your attention from the first page to the last.

I am furious with Kristen that I am going to have to wait for months to continue this story and find out what happens next.

But I say this is a MUST READ!!! Of course read book one first so you get the entire feel for the story. But Kristen Day has definitely created a tale worth reading and I love the entire Goddess story line. She has created a magical and wonderfully exciting tale.

Details/Disclaimer: Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

After obsessively completing Forsaken, the first in this series, I was anxiously awaiting Awaken's release...and Kristen Day did not disappoint. Another beautifully written, intriguing, and well-developed novel that goes much deeper than the first.

Awaken began right where Forsaken left off. Stasia is preparing for her venture to the Underworld while simultaneously building her relationship with Finn, going school, and keeping her adoptive parents in the dark about her new life.

While practicing, Stasia's powers continue to grow and reveal themselves, giving her the opportunity to learn much more about her past. And she's caught the eye of creepy Nadia, the Princess of the Underworld, who stalks and abuses Stasia in her reveries. Nadia is clearly a villan, though the extent of her nature is slowly uncovered throughout the book.

I was really hoping to uncover more about Finn in this book, and although we learn a bit about him, he is absent in the second half of Awaken. Interestingly enough, I enjoyed the journey that Stasia has without him and it gives her the opportunity to grow on her own, without complete dependency on Finn.

I cannot WAIT until Chosen is released - shame on you for that cliffhanger! ;) Awaken is an amazing story with honest characterization, and beautiful imagery. I continued to adore Day's unique paranormal additions and her ability to constantly keep you flipping pages. Most definitely add this one to your library!

Awaken is the second installment in Kristen Day's fabulous Daughters of the Sea series. As some of you may remember, Lana and I both absolutely LOVED Book 1 in the series, Forsaken. So when we found out that Young Adult Novel Reader was putting together a tour for the sequel, Lana and I jumped at the chance to be a part of it. I know I have been eagerly awaiting this sequel since the moment I finished book one.

Awaken picks up shortly after Forsaken ends and I was pulled right back in from the opening lines. Day knows how to keep us hooked and I read this book in less than a day. I couldn't put it down. I found myself completely wrapped up in Stasia's story once again and the end came entirely too soon for my liking. Of course, along the way, my husband thought I'd lost my mind since I was randomly laughing out loud, gasping, and crying; sometimes all at once. I was an emotional wreck by the time I finished it.

Awaken is packed with suspense, romance and a few twists I definitely didn't see coming. I cannot find the words to tell you exactly how much I loved this book. It exceeded my every expectation. Day has created a fantastically quirky cast of characters for us to fall in love with and in doing so she has made it impossible for me to stop reading these books. I cannot wait to see how things wrap up in Chosen, due out in January 2013.

I loved how the playfulness between Anastasia and Finn continued in this book:
"Nothing could diminish your radiance, not a fever," he smiled slyly. "and especially not a fake fever."
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm burning up." I put a hand to my forehead.
"You're definitely hot..." he reached for my hand and kissed it...
Even when they're not together they find a way to flirt with each other and be playful, thank goodness for cell phones and texting huh,
Either ur stalking me or u had a vision about me.
yes
yes ur stalking me or yes you had a vision about me?
Stalked u in a vision
This book started to get tough moments with tension between Anastasia and Finn's relationship, but Anastasia learns to find a backbone, and I was most proud of her for defending herself and standing up, "...A leader does not take advantage of her abilities. She leads from within; with dignity and grace." Thank the lord I had the next book in the series, it would have KILLED ME to wait to find out what happens!

Okay so ummm...still speechless!

Awaken continues where we left off in Forsaken with Stasia preparing to complete her essence by journeying down into the underworld. We get introduced to two new characters who by the way are creepy as hell! We also learn some juicy details that Finn has been hiding ( I don't care what anyone says he's still amazing). Awaken does not disappoint! Every character has so much depth. Absolutely love Carmen!!! I can honestly say that this series is fast becoming one of my favorites! It brings so many elements including romance, humor, adventure, mythology and suspense! Let me just warn you that the cliffhanger is going to leave saying "WHAT!!!" It's going to be a long 4 months while I wait for Chosen!

This book was awesome and I can't stress how grateful I am to Kristen Day for gifting Awaken in exchange for my review (it certainly doesn't give it justice).

Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me say first, Kristen Day definitely does not let fans down with the second book in the Daughters of the Sea series, Awaken! She has proven to fans that she is, in fact, a gifted writer. Awaken was simply amazing. I'm almost at a loss for words. I loved Forsaken, but I do believe that she took the Gold when she wrote Awaken. The second in the series continues after the first book ends. Anastasia knows what her destiny entails and the obstacles she must face to become the goddess she's destined to be. Her boyfriend Finn is still completely gorgeous and oh-so-sexy! Her best friends Carmen, Willow, and Phoebe are still crazy, but supportive and caring. Awaken was filled with a bunch of surprises and action. If you loved Forsaken, you will definitely love this new addition. I most definitely can't wait for Chosen to come out!

I was given this book as part of the series in exchange for an honest review by the author and Lovers of Paranormal.

WOW. This second book is just as good as the first in the series, Forsaken. It totally deserves the 5 stars.

This book continues to follow Stasia in her voyage of discovery of who she is to become, the leader of the Tydes and a Goddess. Stasia's character is really well written and very believable. The love story between her and Finn is really good too, not too mushy and lots of humour. Who would't want a Finn??!!

All the characters in this book are well formed. The plot keeps moving along with new insights along the way.

This book gripped me just as much as the first and was, once again, so difficult to put down. If the series continues as brilliantly as the first two books it may be a while before I get any sleep..............have to go now, the next book awaits!

I rec'd the first and second books in this series from my goodreads.com lovers of paranormal group. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series but this one was even better.

The only critisism I can give is I wanted to get farther into the worlds the author was describing! Without giving away too much I wanted the character that travelled to the other place to be there in that other place so much longer so I could learn even more about the areas and what other types of things were there.

I loved the ending and hated the ending all in one. I loved it because it was so unexpected and yet fitting and I hated it because now I have to wait for the next book while sitting on the edge of my seat.

I'd recommend this series as a very enjoyable read to anyone who enjoys Young Adult series.

Full Review posted on Book Lovin' Mamas

If there is one thing I love about Kristen Day is how she can make my emotions go haywire when reading.  I about threw my iPad across the room when Stasia got the biggest bombshell in her life from that wicked Princess Nadia.  (Poor Stasia)

If your a fan of the young adult genre and love paranormal and mythology, you will love this trilogy from Kristen Day.
The last book in the trilogy comes out real soon, and I'm counting down to it.
Thanks to YOUR Blog Tours for introducing Kristen Day and her fabulous books to me so that I can add her to my favorite authors.

*I received a copy of this book for my review*
In the second installment of the Daughters of the Sea Triology we follow Stashia through her journey of becoming a goddess. Met with many challenges Stashia and her friends help her along her journey. With heart break, betrayal, and unadulterated evil Stashia fights for her loved ones, and even gives up her life so that she can be with the love of her life Finn. Fate and destiny are what you mould them to be. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. I have completely fallin in love with this series and I can not wait to read the next book.

Oh my god! I love books that are about Mythology and these books do it for me. Forsaken was such an enjoyable read for me. Great characters, great chemistry and super hot hotties! I loved the way the friendship between the girls. I WANT that type of friendship. These books pull you in so much! I think in Awaken, you get a better sense of what is going on and you get to grow through Stasia's development with her. Awaken was intriguing, funny, adventurous. There wasn't a single spot where I wanted to put it down.

Anastasia's adventure continues in the book Awaken. In this book, Anastasia discovers more powers within her to help her in her journey. Together with her friends, she prepares herself to become what she's destined to be. Again, Kristen Day captivates her audience with her excellent storytelling. The wonderful and descriptive writing allowed me to connect to magical world and the characters. This book has a mix of everything that i love, romance, adventure, and magic. Excellent read.

I loved this book as much as I did the first one in the "Daughters of the Sea" series.
Kristen Day is an amazing story teller, once u start reading this book, you wouldn't put it down unless you have completed it.Waiting to read the next one in the series.
Totally loved the romance and the bond shared between the main characters i.e., Finn and Stasia; their love for each other and their determination to face their destiny.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review Lovers of Paranormal.

This review is a 3.5 stars for this book. So anyway this book is about Stasia Aka Hanna preparing for her task in the other world. There is a new girl in town named Nadia who wants Finn all to her self. I found this book to be quiet slow and dry in parts. Nothing like Kristen Day's first book which was a high pace, excitement in every turn book. This book was just okay.

Again, Kristin Day has produced another book that I couldn't put down! There were twists and turns in this book that I did not expect that kept me locked on. The flow was perfect and the I could not imagine the book ending any other way. I cannot wait for February to come so I can read her next book!

This was my favorite book in the series. There were a couple slow parts, trying to hard to fill pages. But all in all very good
