Holmes takes Watson and Mrs. Hudson back to his childhood home to conquer his cocaine habit. His rehabilitation is rough, especially when there is nothing to occupy him. Until Watson comes across an old diary which opens up a Holmes family mystery like none other.
You'll find this well written tale in the traditional style. There is nothing of the new action packed Sherlock in this. The mystery looms, but the writing is fine and subtle. I highly recommend this read to those who loved the original Sherlock Holmes books.
ends with more questions than answers....Sherlock returns to his childhood home after the death of mycroft to kick his cocaine habit. he also finds the skeletal remains of his mother buried in the back yard with her wedding ring stuck in her throat! there are hints of possible sexual abuse in Sherlock' s childhood. they all leave with lots of questions unanswered as Sherlock shuts the door on his past to face the future.
