Come home to Heather Creek. Get to know Charlotte Stevenson, who is raising her grandchildren on the family farm after a tragic accident changes all of their lives forever. With the help of her husband Bob and a close-knit circle of friends, she will do whatever it takes to keep this fragile family together. See how God, who makes the sun rise and the crops grow, watches over our lives too.
Diann Hunt wrote romantic comedy and humorous women's fiction targeted to Christian women of the Baby Boomer generation. She'd lived in Indiana forever, had been happily married forever, loved her family, chocolate, her friends, her dog, and, well, chocolate. Her book "For Better or For Worse" is being made into a Hallmark movie, with production beginning in November, 2013.
After a four-year battle with ovarian cancer, Diann went home to be with her Lord and Saviour just after Thanksgiving, 2013. She leaves behind a legacy of words of blessing, love for her Lord, her family, her close friends, and fans the world over who have come to know and love her and call her their friend.
Another good book in the series, makes the reader want to live in the fictional town of Bedford with all of its nice people. Melody, a friend of Charlotte's deceased daughter Denise may have Breast cancer, so while Melody is going through medical procedures, Charlotte through her church gets volunteers organized to help keep Melody's restaurant running. Meanwhile, Sam can't figure out what he wants to major in college, and thinks about joining the military, Emily asks to design and make Dana's wedding dress, also, Christopher has to do a family tree on his family. Lastly, Bob takes over the kitchen, is this good or bad? Read the book to find out what happens. Can't wait to read the next book!
I have loved reading this series and I have been blessed that my library has been either getting the books through inter-library loan or purchasing the ones they do not have or can borrow. This book in the series was a blessing to read, when I have had to learn that family is not the family your are "born" into per say, but those who you make family along life's journey by being there for each other. I laughed & cried right alongside those of Bedford, Nebraska.
Quick and easy read, like all in this series. Love the characters...very real and down to earth. If you want suspense and edge-of-your-seat action, this isn't for you. On the other hand, if you enjoy endearing characters and real-life situations dealt with in a christian manner, then take a seat and enjoy!
