Nice info, but desperately needs an update

I found this book informative. The author did a pretty good job going through how to use a Kindle Fire. However, his information is woefully out of date. My Kindle Fire screens look absolutely nothing like his referenced screenshots, which sometimes made it difficult to follow along with his walkthroughs. Also, he mentioned that you can't use a SD card in a Kindle Fire, which is not true anymore.

Understandable manual/guide for kindle fire

Very comprehensive. Looked at other manuals that didn't get to the real nitty gritty. I could figure out the basics on my own, but wanted an efficient way to learn about all of the kindle extras. I was amazed at what the kindle has to offer. I would recommend this manual without reservation.

Read the whole manual

I chose this rating as it is a comprehensive manual that provides answers rather than generating questions as most manuals sadly do. Although the Kindle Fire is mainly an ereader, the other features are fully explored and explained in the manual. Easy to read and good orientation of the product capabilities.

Thought I knew most of the Fire's qualities

Not even close! This manual is well organized, a very easy read & covers a lot of ground in a short time. Steve Weber does a deep dive into the Fire & readers will benefit from having read it. GREAT job, Steve!

Review of "Kindle Fire Owner's Manual" by John Lietzke

I currently own three Fires. This book does not contain any information for later model Fires. It is however a good reference book.

Good for learning the Kindle Fire

I learned the basics as well as some of the tricks to use on my Kindle. I now have more things to try to use, I have been only been using it as an ereader. I' m looking forward to checking out more of items available on my reader. Easy to understand with plenty of examples which were very helpful. Good book for the basics plus.

OK, I'm a techno dope. I got my Kindle Fire for Christmas in 2011 and I've read several ebooks on it and at times, have used it to read my email. I knew it could do much more but needed help in figuring it out. I'm so glad I bought this book! It's easy to follow, with step-by-step instructions for the basic functions and downloading helpful apps. It reinforced what I knew and taught me lots that I didn't know. Best of all, it introduced me to another site for free Kindle books--the author's blog called Kindle Buffet, which showcases new books each day that Amazon is giving away free. It's worth a look.

An excellent resource

For someone new to the Kindle this is an excellent guide that explains the basics and then moves on to topics that tell you how to get the most from this very inexpensive tablet. Full of tips as to where to find freebies like books and movies from sources including and beyond Amazon, I found this guide (for free at the time I purchased) to be a treasure trove of information. For someone like me who is intimidated by anything relating to computers, Weber is an excellent hand holding guide.

I received this book free through Goodreads First Reads. This owner's manual is one of the few owner's manuals that is actually understandable! I've had my Kindle Fire for about 9 months and there were some excellent tips that I was not aware of! Thanks for the free copy & easy instructions!

I recommend this title to anyone who has a Kindle Fire and is looking to take full advantage of all its features

I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. This book was pretty basic. There wasn't anything I hadn't easily figured out already from my natural use of the Kindle Fire already. That being said, I do think this book would be helpful for anyone who isn't tech savvy. It had some nice images to help guide the reader, and it clearly explained everything. As I said, though, it is mostly stuff that isn't too hard to figure out.

I received this book free through Goodreads First Reads. For anyone who is thinking of getting a Kindle Fire, this is definitely the book for you. It was great for someone like me since I'm not very tech-savvy. With step-by-step instructions, it was easy to learn how to use a Kindle Fire to its fullest advantage. I had thought a Kindle was just for reading eBooks, there is so much more than that to these devices that I didn't know before reading this book.

If you have or are thinking of getting a Kindle Fire this book is definitely very useful. Nowadays, techie gadgets don't come with instructions so you are more or less left with guessing and many hours of (fun) trial and error. Even then you still won't know things like, "secret tips, tricks and shortcuts" (from the back cover) until someone else tells you!
You paid good money for your Kindle, so learn how to make the most of it.

I skimmed the manual and now want to read thoroughly. It appears to have been very well written, but I have missed an index I can refer to; this may be because of my skimming. Certainly I recommend this product.

I skimmed the manual, found it an easy read and would the manual to other Kimble owners.

A worth while expenditure of time. What I didn't like was the requirement so many words of commendation.
