With Heller's Decision, JD Nixon has given us another fun installment to the Heller series. Glad to see this one was a little lighter in tone, although Tilly still suffers through every job she has.

Trouble magnet Tilly is still on suspension from Heller's and working for Trent, but that employment status is getting shakier by the day. Her relationship with Heller is still confusing but they seem to be solid together. Some of her crazy adventures in this one include rescuing a monkey hopped up on an energy drink, tagging along with husband and wife porn stars and crusaders during a convention, doing battle with the dark lord Malefic and another run in with the men of Select Security.

Heller is still an uber alpha male and as sexy, possessive and mysterious as ever. We don't learn much more about who he is or where he comes from and I'm not sure we ever will. He is also still completely clueless about how to act as far as his relationship with Tilly goes (which makes for another fun day spent with Tilly's family). We also are get a little glimpse at how Daniel is recovering, and spend time with Farrell, Niq, Bick and Tilly's family.

There is no cliffhanger ending, but there are plenty of storylines left to follow. I am looking forward to the next installment.

I've been waiting for this book forever, and it didn't disappoint. I'm such a huge fan of this series because it's not a paint-by-the-numbers indie book. Tilly isn't a sweet, innocent virgin with the magical vagina that has all the bad boys wanting to give up their bad boy ways for her. She's clumsy as heck and is always getting herself into trouble. And while Heller is a dangerous, alpha Viking god and a manwhore with a possibly troubled past, what makes him different from all of the other manwhores of indie books is that he's completely inept with it comes to relationships. Heller has no problem sleeping with a female client to get her to sign a contract with his security company or telling a girl's family at a family dinner that they're lovers who have sex every night.

J.D. Nixon also makes you fall in love with the secondary characters: Niq, the troubled teen who was neglected as a baby and lived in poverty; Daniel, the damaged and fragile man with a sad sexual past; Farrell, the quiet and gruff guy with the heart of gold.

Sure, some of the situations in this book are over the top and unrealistic, but it's easy to suspend belief given the good writing and the overall premise of the book. This was a really great, fun and funny read!

That was PAINFUL!!!!! FUCK!!!!

Poor Tilly... what a clusterfuck her life has become. This book was not my favorite by any means. Tilly has been through so much, and yet she continues to make shoddy decisions. It's more than fate working here... it's down right idiocy!!!! And then Heller is pissing me off too...and it's pissing me off that I still want them together.

But most of all, it's pissing me off that I'm going to have to wait for the next book to be released. Then again, maybe I need a break from the mayhem that is Tilly Chalmers life.

I'm exhausted!

4 BEATEN and BRUISED and very PISSED OFF STARS!!!!

i am at a point where I m not sure I can finish the book. I like tilly a lot because she is strong and brave but I'm sick to read again and again how she can't count on her lover and her friends. She is so lonely. none of them has respect or esteem for her. They keep blaming the victim like it is her fault if she keep attracting trouble. why she is always in trouble is because she is brave. I'm sick to read how inadequate and useless her entourage make her look and feel. I don't see where the fun is in humiliating this nice character. her lover keep humiliating and diminishing her in public. These is a very dependant and abusive relationship. I wish she would tell them all how bad friends they are. non supportive and making fun of her suffering. I wish she would dump heller and run far away. tilly is such a smart capable and brave girl she deserves better than an abusive arsehole with no respect for her. He doesn't love her. He just want a possession. and the more she is lonely and doubt herself the more she is under his power...
i understand heller is the lead character but I wish tilly would never have sleep with him. He slept with her sister in law. He provoked a brawl almost killing her father. He slept with the movie star when she was in the room next door. He slept with her journalist boss. no man is stupid enough to think it wouldn't hurt her feelings. he enjoys hurting her. he never trusted her instinct when she worked for him . Even she was always right. He yelled on her when she was hurt and did her job right. he beat up the only guy who has respect for her and want her happiness. His business is more important than her feelings.
The man you love always should support you, tell you how capable you are and be proud of you.
That stupid book made me cry...i m not sure I want to finish. I m afraid she will put up with all his BS and stay

I don't wanna wait a year or two for the last book. Heller's Decision was amazing! I though it would have a HUGE mess of some kind but it was actually one of the most perfect in the series and had all what I love in books.

It's just... Is that so, Mrs. Nixon? You say that there will be another book but don't give a hint of when it will be released? That's torture to my poor reader heart.

That's my very adult reaction to the waiting for Heller's Regret:

But even thought you are responsable for the awaiting thing, I STILL LOVE HELLER AND THE WHOLE SERIES! So thank you!

And again JD Nixon doesn't disappoint - as number 5 in the series, it just keeps getting better and better.

So finally Tilly and Heller are together in this book but is it going to last? He is controlling and still so secretive with her.

Tilly continues to get into funny and dangerous jam after jam. She cracks me the f* up.

In this book, we find Tilly working for Trent and hanging around Porn stars (while dancing with a human penis) **hahaha** have I mentioned how much Tilly cracks me up?

Then she gets tangled dealing with a demon cult and white witches --- the story line definitely doesn't disappoint the reader.

I can't wait to find out what happens with the next book in the series - especially now with Tilly back working for Heller.

Unfortunately I didn't like this one as much as the others. I love the authors style of writing, but the story got a little silly in places and I absolutely hated Hellers attitude 99% of the time. We know he loves her but he is so controlling it makes my head spin and he won't even let her use the gym - wtf- but then tells her she needs to workout because it's showing she hasn't.

Ugh. I'll stop here before I get on a rant but well done to JD Nixon because even though I've come away with a semi- negative view on this book it still brought up a passionate feeling within me. I will look forward to the next installment and hope that tilly finally gets some answers and some long lasting happiness.

Ps can't wait for book 4 of little town!!!

I have been addicted to this series since I first picked up Heller a couple years ago and I was so excited when HD finally was released! Unfortunately, I finished it way too quickly...

As for the story itself, readers get to laugh through more of Tilly's misadventures and blush at some of her romantic escaped with Heller. I am a little confused at a couple of plot points that were kind of left at loose ends (i.e. Malefic and what happened to Niq) but maybe those get resolved in the next book?

Overall, I still in love with the series and am looking forward to the next one.

You know you enjoy a series when the last book you read in that series (I read the last book, book #4 in 2014) was years ago. Luckily for me, even though I couldn’t recall every single detail (and let’s face it, Tilly gets into so many things), I was still able to read this book and know what had transpired previously. That means I like this series so much that the details are still floating in my head somewhere (and that, for this reader, is a good sign). I enjoyed this installment as I have other books in this series. I’m moving on to the final book. Can’t wait to see how this series ends.

Heller's Decision , by J.D. Nixon
4- almost 4.5 Stars
It was about that time for me to cleanse the palate! I was getting major brain warp by this point and its not to say I wasn’t enjoying the books I was reading just previous to this BUT it was just time you know?
Any time you see me start a Heller book you know I have hit a MAJOR book funk. I savoir them and use them ONLY for this purpose as they ALWAYS do the job and book 5 was no different. Really there is NO NEED for a long drawn out review as I believe if you are a fan of the series by now you already know what this series offers a reader. An escape from the norm. I laughed my ass off and even got a bit teary at a point (I know shocker …I don’t do tears) but you really can’t help but FEEL for Tilly. By book 5 you are so invested in these characters that we get to revisit every once in a while that you feel like they are long lost friends. Tilly is STILL the shit and Heller is ….well Heller! The secondary characters are still fantastic. As you all know I don’t do spoilers so I won’t say too much but I WILL say in this book we see the main character relationship PROGRESS. Yep that’s ALL you are getting out of me! I enjoyed this book just as much as the rest in the series and the best part is I NEVER feel the need to do a reread of the previous book when I decide to read one as this author always has a clever way of reminding us of what happened previously. Believe me I read book 4 just about a year ago and never once did I feel lost or confused (and I have the world’s worst memory!) , so trust me no need to let that discourage you from picking up book 5. So until my next book slump hits I am holding off on book 6 Heller's Regret. Just a little FYI in case you didn’t know book 7 will be the last in this series.

***** FIVE FANTASTIC STARS!!!!!
If anyone is looking for a series that each book is better than the next, I suggest you pick up Heller. You will be laughing, crying & holding your breath throughout. The main characters are Tilly (Matilda) & Heller. Tilly who continues her employment as the accident prone security officer who is employed by Heller Security's gorgeous Viking Heller, finds herself once again in situations that would make any grown man cringe. She also has to deal with her overprotective boss/lover Heller, who continues to be a man of mystery to everyone including Tilly , who at this point would like to get know the person she's sharing her bed to a little more. I also don't want to forget the other characters that make this book, & live in the warehouse w/ Tilly & Heller where Heller Security resides. There's Daniel, the insecure, sentimental comrade to Tilly, who is also employed by Heller. Niq, the young goth teenager, taking in and raised by Heller at a very young age, & the rest of the security team, Clive, Sid, Bick, Farrell... Who are all more like family then co workers with each other. The love that they all have for each other is immeasurable, even when they want to strangle Tilly for whatever mess she gets them in at the time.

For some reason the review I read after finishing this did not save, so trying again. I enjoyed the earlier books in the series, but now that Tilly and Heller are together it disappointed me that a supposedly strong female has turned out to be a doormat in allowing an obviously abusive relationship that she kids herself is OK because he's so hot. She accepts having sex all the time (it got so tedious hearing about it, how many times per night and how wonderful it all was) even when she doesn't want to because that's all there really is to the relationship, apart from feeding his ego. He's a horrible character and it disturbs me that so many women think that this is the kind of man they want. Violent, controlling, uncommunicative, obsessed with his business, treats people like possessions... And they let him!
The story itself was the usual series of ridiculous escapades, with her always having to be rescued - earlier in the series I liked that she got herself out of trouble, but now each time a man has to save her.
I would only read the next book if she confirms it's the last, as it would be good to wrap the series up (and hopefully see Tilly grow up and find someone nice.)

This book was just as hysterical, traumatizing, crazy and fun as I remember all the previous 4 being. I really missed Tilly!
I really enjoyed (I feel like it took forever) catching up to ALL the characters in these books. Nixon does not disappoint on this anxiously awaited 5th book.
If you haven't read the brilliance that is Heller yet, well, I can just say you are really missing out. It is a romance, but, not really. But I swear to you, the danger, zany-ness, flat out crazy world that exists in these books do not disappoint. It's all about the build up in the books for Heller and Tilly. If I remember correctly, they don't actually have sex until book 4 (after a little trauma in the shower), but in no way does this disappoint.
The cast of characters is straight out perfect for this series. The story lines, the writing, the horrible bad guys, the awesome good guys - it's all great.
I totally recommend this series.
PS - The 5th book REALLY makes up for the lack of sex in the previous books....like...REALLY

Loved it!

Loved this book. It was the right combination of emotions/comedy(Tilly lol) and action.
Heller is soooo clueless to "relationships' if you can call what him and Tilly have one.
Its almost as if they take one step forward and two back, despite this I can see him trying and making small changes. Its even more evident that all the other characters can see it as well.
Tilly is hilarious it is never a dull moment with her.
I feel bad for Farrel because he is a really great guy and I know how much he cares about Tilly.
I dont know if anyone else feels this way but I can not stand Dixie at all. I dont even understand Till's friendship with her at this point. Dixie is a selfish brat who cares about no one but herself and getting her rocks off at other peoples expense.
I look forward to the next book, I have a feeling I already know what Heller's Regret is going to be lol I cant wait. Hopefully I wont have to wait long for the release.

Maybe if I reread the first 4 books again before hitting this one I would've liked it more. The last book came out in March last year and I read them all in April last year. So now, fifteen months later, I can’t remember every single thing that happened in the first 4 books and the author doesn’t give any back story in this book. For example: I can't remember why Tilly was suspended from Heller and it is referred to throughout this book, but not a single sentence on the 'Why' that could jog my memory. Farrell? I can't remember him either. There’s this tension between Tilly and Farrell and Heller but nothing is given as to 'Why'. Danny? Knew he had issues but again no clue is given to exactly what. The same with Trent and the court case referred to in this book.

I was confused through most of this book.

Outstanding thrills and spills penned by exciting author JD Nixon. Likable characters introduced, as well as returning character development continues to satisfy as relationships intensify. Fresh and exciting adventures keep the reader enjoying twists and surprises. Ignored most of my day's responsibilities since I kept sneaking in time to read a little bit more. Glad there will be another in series, but this ending was not one of those abrupt cliffhangers tossed out by less talented writers. Thanks for the smiles.
(And no problem with downloading on first morning of new release, unlike a couple of smashwords comments)

I don't like Tilly. I never really liked her very much. She was acceptable in the first book. But this book really cemented for me. The humor in this book is over the top. Beyond "I love Lucy" antics. Slapstick. Too obvious humor for me. Tilly's clutzy, tstl antics are annoying. She is unemployable in my opinion. Her decisions and actions are just obnoxious. I really enjoyed the beginning of this series, but at this point I don't even know if I will finish it. This is just from the first 5% of the book. Ugh. J.D. Nixon is a good author. I just wish she would have toned it down with the Tilly stupidity instead of twice as much. This is a chore to read.

Erk, so. I really liked all the previous books in this series but Tilly was finally OTT for me with her ridiculously stupid decisions. I was hesitant to read this because I was scared of what Heller might do, but I should have been wiser to worry about whether I'd kill myself with the eye rolling directed at Tilly's behavior.

It is a Heller book. What more needs to be said. I will be rereading it soon. Love this one just as I do all of them. Tilly gets into trouble, not always of her own making. Heller is slowly learning how to deal with her as his lover instead of as his employee. The mini-plots are hilarious or frustrating as usual. Sometimes both.

I will write a real review after I read the book again.

Heller and Tilly I do love you but I so love Ferrell too and I am on the fence about which she should be with.... There were a lot of laugh out loud moments but some moments left open that I am hoping get tied up in the next books. Niq and Daniel are always loveable and they are clearly a family to Tilly. Look forward to more of the series :)
