The new road to the American Dream: win a competitive reality show on TV and become a star.

After grueling auditions, Nick Vangard has progressed to the televised finals of SING, a nationwide search for the next singing sensation. Music industry experts have a term for what Nick possesses—"the whole package." Nick has the vocal chops, the edgy looks, and the charisma to become a huge star. As one of ten undiscovered hopefuls, Nick's life has already changed, but he soon realizes singing won't be the most difficult part of the journey.

Logan Hawke has a sexy voice, a hot body, and a temper lurking under his outward, Southern-gentleman charm. From a small community in the midst of the Bible Belt, Logan's never been involved with a man before, but once he lays eyes on Nick Vangard, there's no turning back.

A first encounter leaves them on fire for one another, and Nick and Logan soon find their private lives the center of attention—nationally televised attention. Unprepared for the constant presence of the cameras, surrounded by unscrupulous contestants, and overwhelmed by the pressure of competition, they hit an unexpected speed bump and their relationship takes a disastrous swerve.

While viewers wait on the edge of their sofas to see who wins the show, Nick and Logan face the greater challenge of trying to win each other's hearts again.

Not For The Faint Of Heart---That sums up my work with Jaye Valentine. I've always spent a good deal of time with the darker side of my imagination. I was never afraid of the dark. In fact, some of my fondest memories are of Saturday afternoons with my dad watching Creature Double Feature with a big bowl of popcorn. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Werewolves, angels, demons and vampires were my childhood passions. I guess I never grew up.

I live in a little town famous for its historical ax-murderess, where the Ghost Hunters TAPS has a home office. Salem—famous for witches, Newport—famous for pirates, and Providence—famous for H.P.Lovecraft are all under an hour's drive. I guess I really didn't have a chance of not turning out the way I did."

Reno has also designed and created cover art for many of Reno and Jaye's books as well as the logo for StarCrossed and their website's banner art.

This was a really sweet book. But be warned there is insta-love here. But I actually fell in love with this book so I was not to bothered. The story and the characters were amazing. I really loved Logan. I get all hot over a lovely southern character. And he was just all Mr. Possessive over Nick and I loved that.

There is a bit of drama, but I expected the ending. Well sort of, how things worked out pretty much added up in my head. I hated Cameron and Brittney from the beginning. I knew they were up to no good, and when the big reveal happened I could not stop smiling. It just made me so so happy that they got their comeuppance.

The story has a nice pace to it, for me anyway. But it might not be for everyone. This book has a lot of cliche parts and it will put some people off. But the characters were good and well developed and I just loved the couple. I found them to be adorable.

It's not really a heavily sexed up book. There are a few sex scenes in it, but not a load of them. One of the nicest books that had a break-up in it in a while. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes stories with competitions and cute romances

Rating gone down because of the sequel...

These boys--Logan and Nick--smoking hot--loveable--sweet--talented--wanted to wrap them up and take them home; right after I sit at Reno Macleod and Jaye Valentine's feet and beg them to tel me where they have been hiding this little gem, SING!. Honestly--these authors/partners really need to write together more often--please?

So as the blurb so adequately covered, Logan and Nick meet and fall instanty head over heels for one another. The old conundrum of one boy being out and proud, Nick, versus the country boy who hasn't a clue that he is even really gay--much less inform his family, Logan, has admittedly been overworked in other novels. But, dear reader, not this time--oh my no, not this time. Macleod and Valentine recreate a tried and true story line and reinvent it to be witty, fast-paced, believable and oh so very very sweet. Did I mention I wanted to take the two boys home with me?

When the two finally realize what it is they are building--holding so carefully in their hands, the true magic of the author's wordsmithing takes over and you just shake your head at the beauty of the words these characters speak to each other.

Then through the scheming of other contestants these two young men watch as their relationship gets derailed and both despair that there will be no turning back time to recapture their love for each other.

SING! was one of the most beautifully crafted love stories I have read in a long time. The exploration of the "first time" sexual experience for Logan was done so realistically and so tenderly. The idea that the competition itself became a catalyst for both men to reevaluate what was most important to them and the realistic exchange of how one handled the realization that the fame was just not important as opposed to how the other young man coped was just spot on--so believable.

But the heart of this novel was just a really sweet love story--and this is something that these authors do so very well. The exchange of romantic sentiments was never soppy or trite; rather they were so very inline with how two young men would react to one another.

I highly recommend SING! by Macleod and Valentine to you...this one should not be missed!

I'm missed books from the MacLeod/Valentine boys and this new book is awesome. Rockstars, competitions, catty bitches, drama, hot sex, and a whole lot of love. Reno told me it was a little more romantic than they usually write and he was right, but I loved it. Logan and Nick were both strong but vulnerable characters and the whole competition idea was brilliant. I fell for both the boys and the secondary characters were very well-written, including a very strong female presence (Hey, Amber!) Great book and it gave me a healthy dose of my rockstar addiction. :)

This is a lightweight MM rockstar romance, based around an "American Idol" type reality show.

The characters were stereotypes and the storyline was like a soap opera - high on drama and low on reality. I feel like there was a missed opportunity here....this story should have been more tongue-in-cheek.....then I would have taken it more seriously.

The first half definitely had a little eye-rolling from me because of the insta-love between Nick and Logan, but I couldn't help but enjoy the ridiculous soap opera that followed. In fact, I (shamefully) think shows like AI would be a whole lot more interesting if they aired some of the more scandalous footage from behind-the-scenes like they did here. The cattiness and jealousy of the other contestants wasn't too surprising considering the reality-tv atmosphere, but alas it's highly unlikely we'd have the same dramatic on-air resolution (with coppers and everything) without the threat of lawsuits and other liability. Bummer. Contestants Brittany and Cameron and sleazy cameraman Kyle were at the top of my "big bastard" list so I was glad they all got what was coming to them (even if I would have made the punishments more severe and/or painful). So I guess even though I often had to set aside disbelief, in the end I just couldn't help but root for Nick and Logan to work things out, especially since things could have gone in a completely different direction for Nick.

2.5 stars really. A little better than just ok but I probably won't read it again. I've read fanfiction based on similar singing competitions that has been far superior to this so I've been spoiled. The writing wasn't bad but the pacing was off the whole way through the book and that didn't give the authors enough time to fully flesh out the characters and make them more than cliches. This would have worked beautifully as a novel.

Liked it didn't love it.

Way too much of the insta-love for me. But I loved the reality show plot. But it was too . .. shallow I guess. I would have liked more of an in depth detailing of the inside goings on of the making of the show and the performing in the show then we got. Also, it seems as if the plot was ended abruptly.

However it was cute enough and a pleasant way to spend a windy afternoon.

It was OK but that's all. I think I may be a bit old for this one and past my pop idol watching. It felt a bit formulaic to me and I wasn't surprised. There was also no build up in the relationship and I think I like that more.
