If you are considering signing up for Sandi's business training you should really read this book first...

Not because it's a fantastic book, but because hopefully after you have read this self-promotional nonsense you will realise Sandi might not be worth the hefty fees after all...

In 'Read Their Mind' Sandi Krakowski claims to be a world class business 'guru', an expert copywriter, an ecommerce and social media master. Unfortunately many of her claims, including the claims about the companies she has supposedly built into multimillion dollar success stories, are very dubious to say the least. In this book Sandi says she built her first multimillion dollar company in the 1990s working from home selling kitchen appliances by newsletter.

Yet Sandi's older articles and blog posts, those dating from 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, completely contradict the claims in her book. For example, in early 2006 Sandi wrote:

"On Feb 17, 2005 we were facing a devasting situation in our life, we almost lost our home and our car. We had no experience in a home based business and we needed to make money fast!" (manicmarketer.blogspot.com/2006/04/sa...).

Sandi's book claims after she began using online newsletters she became an expert in ecommerce and internet marketing, and one of her numerous 7-figure companies was one of the biggest advertisers on Google in Google's early days, circa 1999 - 2000. Yet, far from having an incredible track record of business success, in 2005 Sandi contradicted the claims she would later make in 'Read Their Mind', writing the following: "Prior to working with Dani [Johnson] I would oftentimes work all day with very little accomplished, or when I did work I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I had called 3000 people, yes, THREE THOUSAND and had zero results!"
(manicmarketer.blogspot.com/2006/07/sa...)

If we compare what Sandi wrote in her Manic Marketer blog in 2006 with what she wrote in this book it becomes pretty obvious Sandi has taken a few liberties with the truth in order to polish up her 'guru' image. Integrity is NOT Sandi's middle name. I suggest giving her 'Gold', 'Ruby', 'Diamond' and 'Sapphire' training programs a wide berth.

Wish I could give this book a higher rating. I genuinely like Sandi. I think she is an amazing business woman who also happens to not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. I have taken a couple of her free courses, subscribe to her newsletter, and follow her on Twitter and Facebook.

So, what did I not like about her book?

First, I find the lack of proper editing annoying. Some might consider that nit picking, but there are numerous typographical errors, the page formatting/numbering is inconsistent and on many pages non-existent, and some of the testimonials at the back of the book are exact duplicates with the exception of the person's name and website... Makes me go Hmmmmm... Even the title of the book is grammatically incorrect unless she is trying to say that the "they" of "their" has a single or collective mind. (i.e. should be Read Their Minds)

Second, while I find Sandi's "chatty" and conversational style of writing appealing in a social media, blog and even newsletter environments, in a book, I expect writing to be a little more polished. Maybe that's just my own personal preference and is neither here nor there to the rest of the world (or at least the rest of her readers).

Finally, I just didn't feel that there was anything new in this book. While it might be great information for someone who has never heard of Sandi Krakowski before, if you are familiar with her work, you can probably skip "Read Their Mind" and just read her blog.

I highly recommend Sandi and her website, just not her book. Frankly, I think she can do better.

I'll tell you in the next chapter. I'll tell you in the next chapter. I'll tell you in the next chapter. She told me squat, and was pretty cocky about it too.

Sandi Krakowski began her Internet marketing career as a copywriter. She is known for the bright pink streak she wears in her hair. Her marketing/consulting/coaching business has grown from her success in multiple Internet businesses. Ms. Krakowski shares many of the business principles and practices that she uses in this book.

Here are some of her key points;

Determine your WHY. The author explains your WHY in the following way..."Whenever IT happens, IT pisses you off." You will work to find other people who have the same frustrations that you have and work with them to find a solution.

Listen, Ask, Listen. Ms. Krakowski suggests that you do "listening research" to determine what the marketplace wants and needs. You must be sincerely interested in helping people and being the change. The author offers helpful advice in asking questions and using surveys to test your market. You will know what people want because they will tell you.

It's Not About You. Your goal should not be to write copy that converts. You goal should be to find out what people are struggling with and figure out how you can help. The author believes it is important to speak and write at a level that people will easily accept. She uses the Flesch-Kincaid Formula to determine the reading grade level of her text. She has found that copy with a reading level of 7th grade or lower will convert more readers. Speaking to people where they're at is huge.

Sandi Krakowski has built her business around the power of words. The words that are heard are just as important as the words that are spoken. This book provides practical tips and advice that you can use to improve your Internet business. The author writes a weekly newsletter and has thousands of subscribers. This book will give you a fresh outlook on how you communicate with people on your lists (email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Ms. Krakowski is not "religious" but she has a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She writes about her faith frequently in this book and gives God all the glory for her success. I like the way the author is able to blend her personal beliefs and convictions with her business. She believes that she is fulfilling her God-given purpose by helping others.

If you are not able to purchase the book at this time, I highly recommend the author's newsletter and Facebook page.

Sandi Krakowski is a woman on a mission to help entrepreneurs be successful with social media. She has a huge heart, for moms, for families, for God, and for the clients she truly cares about. There's a wealth of information in this book, and it's free! She also has numerous courses/videos/programs for sale that help people make more money online. She tells it like it is and I very much appreciate that! If you want to have a successful online business through social media, she's your guru. And for goodness' sake, the book is free! Remember that all good advice is only as good as its implementation, and her step-by-step programs that make it easy are great.

Sandi Krakowski is truly an inspiration in this book. She tells it like it is, and encourages readers to follow her advice. The book is aimed at helping others do well in business, but many of her words of advice can also be applied to life in general.

This particular book covers aspects such as list building, listening to what people want, budgeting your time and other self-realization advice. It is a must-read for anyone wishing to start a business or increase business income.

I finally gave up on trying to read this one. Her rambling writing style and claims that she is so successful that money essentially falls into her lap without really providing useful information was something I just couldn't justify spending more time on. I suspect the book length could be cut by 2/3 if she just got to the point.

Some good tips strewn in the midst of a whole lotta ego and rambling. It very much resembles her classes which I've taken----You have to listen to a whole hour to get maybe 15 minutes of really amazing help for your biz. If she could get rid of the waffle it would be so much more helpful than this book!
