The Mercy Seat

Rate this book
When God invited His people to approach Him in the Old Testament, He invited them to the mercy seat—not the judgment seat, but the mercy seat. The mercy seat was the covering of the ark of the covenant and it represents the way we approach God in prayer—sinners desiring mercy. In this book, the author uses the Lord’s Prayer to teach us about both the matter of prayer and the manner of prayer. And in doing so, he deals with those issues we face every day as the will of God, pain, forgiveness, hallowing God’s name, dealing with temptation, dreading sin, and other relevant topics. Gardiner Spring will challenge your prayer life and will increase the devotional thoughts and affections of your soul. This book has been out of print for over 100 years, but it has been retypeset and edited for easier readability.

One of the best biblical and challenging accounts, though by no means exhaustive, on the scripture in Matthew 6 focusing on the "Lord's Prayer." Please please please read!
