Sure, I'm dropping this just after the first part, which is very much an introduction to how this story does and does not model the canon of the first film, setting up things for the new dynamic between Spock and Kirk (wherein Kirk doesn't join Starfleet due to not wanting to deal with the expectations of being George Kirk's son, meets Professor Spock due to solving problems left up on the board in his classroom and from there developing a romantic relationship with Spock) as the two enter their 5year mission aboard the Enterprise, but I don't feel there's enough here worth continuing for, which makes me sad because I loved Waldorph's Magpie.
