Well, I finally got to the series end.

My social life was at a dead standstill, my house work suffered: But from the moment I immersed myself into the Necroverse I was lost to it. A real page turner that never once got repetitive or stale. Thank you Mr Line!

Full Disclosure – I was provided a copy of the book by the author as a member of his “A-Team”, however, have voluntarily chosen to write a review. All opinions are my own.

The Notes Endure

Another year another note, but Soph is done. Just like others before him he is tired of the yearly mission of murder and just wants to live a quiet life with his family and his zoo. Even though he is determined to not get dragged in, those around him warn him that this is never a choice that ends well. But with over 300 years of necro life under his belt, Soph is ready to take a chance. After all, hasn’t he been told that he and his family are special? Surely the powers that be will not kill their ‘golden boy’. But even with Soph’s deliberate disregard of the note, there is still much to do. Jen and Tyr have been missing for a few weeks, and with Phage at her wits end Soph sets out to retrieve her. But getting to Mawr’s retreat will not be easy as he encounters an old friend turned horse, an increasingly necro-aware common public and an outcast from Peth’s compound who is trying to get back in the witchy matriarch’s good graces. Even with a deliberate disregard for the missive practically burning a hole in his pocket there is no shortage of excitement, or murder. When the dust clears Soph learns what Peth and her sisters have always echoed. The Notes Endure, and always will.

Stubborn Mule is the final book in the Notes of Necrosoph series by author Al K. Line and I can’t think of a better way to close the series. It feels like Soph and his family are in as good of a place as they can be in the crazy world they live in. Even in the chaos, the crew manages to find a bit of peace. Jen is coming into her own powers much to Soph and Phage’s concern but with Tyr by her side, she will be alright. It feels as if there is, if not a closure, at least a “to be continued… maybe” feel to this installment. Stubborn Mule is the final book in the Notes of Necrosoph series by author Al K. Over the course of these last eight books and two years (has it really been that long?), it feels as if I have come to know these characters like friends. I have laughed, cringed, and even cried along with them. While I am sad to see the series come to an end, I am also excited for what Line dreams up next. Be it more adventures in the Necro world or an entirely new cast of characters all together, whatever he dreams up is bound to be another entertaining ride., it feels as if I have come to know these characters like friends.
