“My Rosary”: The Beloved Prayer of an Exorcist

Rate this book
Fr. Gabriele Amorth is considered one of the most important figures in the Italian Catholic Church. Not only was he a renowned exorcist, he was a journalist, a noted theologian, and biblical exegete. The recent Hollywood film about his life (though highly embellished) has only added to his mystique.

Behind the man was a powerful faith. He could not have performed exorcisms for thirty years without supernatural aid. Toward the end of his life, while retired in a rest home in Rome, he revealed his the Rosary. For years, he had an unpublished book that he kept in a drawer of his cell in the Generalate of the Paulines in Rome. It consisted of reflections and meditations on the rosary that he wrote personally. Shortly before he died, he gave it to his order to publish. Now, for the first time, that book has been published in English.

As a biblical scholar, Fr. Amorth breaks open all twenty mysteries of the Rosary one by one. The mysteries–including the luminous mysteries introduced by St. John Paul II–were designed to offer meditations on the life of Christ. Using Scripture, biblical and historical research, and Church teachings, Fr. Amorth brings these mysteries to life. He takes the reader through the entirety of the life of Christ. After reading this book, those who pray the Rosary will never do so the same way.

These pages are full of light, like the life of Father Amorth. May they illuminate your life.

About the author

Gabriele Amorth

Italian Roman Catholic priest and the senior exorcist of the Diocese of Rome.

Amorth authored two books specifically on exorcism. The publications marked a defining moment in literary history, being the first public documents to treat this subject.
The two books An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories are not official Roman Catholic documents, rather personal accounts of his office as Exorcist. The books use witness accounts and personal experience as evidence.

Wow! Fantastic Rosary Meditations- Easy to follow and meditate in prayer

Extraordinarily beautiful. Here we see Father Gabrielle Amorth as biblical scholar. How was this world famous extraordinarily successful exorcist able to bring tens of thousands of possessed people back to Jesus? His spiritual armor was the ROSARY! Our Blessed Mother helped him! I wonder if he and St Padre Pio knew each other? They both battled Satan all their lives with this great spiritual weapon. The rosary is simple and profound at the same time

A beautiful guide to the rosary written by Fr. Amorth. In it Fr. Amorth goes over each of the 20 mysteries of the rosary and explains their significance and beauty using scriptural references.

Short, sweet and comprehensive. My only complaint is that I listened to it on audible and it’s narrated by a virtual voice and not an actual human.

This gives a great explanation of each of the 5 Glorious Mysteries. Ive just recently started praying the rosary and this was a great book to read along with. I really like that scripture is added in to reflect on the mysteries. Quick, easy read and excited to find out there are 2 more books in this series!

🖋️ This book goes through the fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary, including the (unnecessary) five Luminous Mysteries. The book was put together nicely, but I have prayer books with the Mysteries that are more to my traditional meditations.

Mysteries explained

This gives clear explanations of the mysteries of the rosary, but it was a very dry read. I've enjoyed other books by Fr. Amorth, but this one just wasn't it.

I am not Catholic. My husband and I enjoyed these wonderful contemplations as a devotional which we read over together and then discussed. Highly recommend !
