This was a sweet book about a naked turtle who helps Nananbosho to fish and in return received a hand/painted shell.

This modern retelling of a traditional Anishanabe tale, with its lively illustrations and characteristic yet current narration, brings to life the most adorable little turtle (who our family has named “Meegwetch”). This is one of our favourite Nanabosho books.
