Blurred Expectation is a Novella in the Redwood Series, set between Books 4 and 5. In my opinion this is not a standalone novella. I have read every book in this series and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
We were introduced to this trio in book 3 of the Redwood Series, Trinity Bound. I gave Trinity bound 5 out of 5 Skulls, I instantly fell in love with Hannah our main heroine in this book, and it was my 1st introduction with m/m and was pleasantly surprised with how tasteful Carrie Ann wrote it.
Hannah, Josh, and Reed are revisited in Blurred Expectations, which is one of my favorite things about this series as a whole; Carrie Ann teases her readers and keeps us snagged with her novellas where we get to revisit couple from previous novels while leading us into the next full length book in the series. Hannah and her mates have a bond that is untouchable but they have experienced a tragedy and are having trouble getting passed the pain, resentment, and guilt that threatens to tear their bond apart. That is not our only enemy in this novella, a man from Josh’s past comes back to destroy what Josh has strived to protect, no matter how odd his new life might seem to others, he would die for Hannah and Reed.
Hannah and her mates are trying so hard to be the next in the Jamenson clan to have a baby but this witch, wolf, and half demon can’t seem to get pregnant while the other mated couples around them are popping babies out like candy out of a pez dispenser. With all the things stacked against them, they can’t help but ask themselves, why us?
Blurred Expectations is a quick easy read, which helps the true Redwood Series fan wet their appetite while waiting for the next full length novel, set for release in June 2013.
I give Blurred Expectations 4 out of 5, only because I wanted the last chapter to be a little more “in depth”, besides that I was very happy with my short visit back to the Redwood Clan and to see Hannah and her mates once again triumph over the odds against them.
I strongly recommend this entire series for any paranormal fan.

Blurred Expectations Hannah, Josh and Reed are not your typical"couple". Brought together from tragedy, now very much in love with each other. All 3 love unconditionally and are made for one another. With all the other women in the Jamenson family having babies, Hannah never excepted her to have troubles getting pregnant. With 2 men, it should be easy. As the months have gone by, the stress mounts and depression kicks in. The men are at a loss and don't know how to confront the issue. So they plan on showing her how much she is needed. But as she goes and helps inlaws with babies. She can't fathom how she can be a healing witch, yet not be able to conceive. Josh and Reed are also starting to doubt themselves and the bond between them is in jeopardy. When Josh's military past comes back, with it brings danger not just to the Red Wood Pack but maybe the whole shifter community.
I love the Redwood Pack series. Revisiting Hannah and her men is pretty awesome. Great addition to the series. Not really a read alone book. You could but you might not get the characters nuances. This one hit a little closer to home with me. My husband and myself have had infertility issues. So Hannah, for me was very relate able! All three start to doubt and that is pretty normal when you feel something should be easy and comes with difficulty. Thanks Carrie Ann for the great read. juleisbookreview.blogspot.com
The Trinity Bond is struggling. Josh, Reed and Hannah have each been helping the Pack in their own way, Hannah as the Pack's Healer, Josh helping Adam as an Enforcer, and Reed coming into his own as a part of the Alpha's family. They have used their Trinity Bond to strengthen the wards surrounding the den. But, they have suffered for it, and are now dealing with pain, loss, and depression. Each are dealing with it in their own way, or trying to. Hannah, most of all, is pulling away, keeping her secrets to herself, not depending on her mates. Her duties to the Pack have cost her more than she can bear.
Will Hannah be able to overcome her sense of failure, loss and her depression to return to her mates whole and help them and the Pack once more? Can she find her way, or will her problems cause more loss and suffering? Will Josh truly be able to put his past behind him, coming into his own as a member of the Pack and accept his demon side? Can Reed help his mates through this time of loss and pain?
In this novella, Carrie Ann has told the story of a loss and pain in a very real way. Showing the bond of these mates falling apart, their pain at the loss, and what lengths they will go to to return to each other. A wonderful addition to the Redwood Pack series! Don't miss it!
Blurred Expectations takes us back into the lives of Hannah Jamenson and her mates, Josh and Reed.
Hannah is desperate to get pregnant and watching all her sisters get pregnant and give birth is killing her spirit. Josh and Reed want children with Hannah as well. It hurts them to watch their mate in so much pain when there is nothing they can do to help. Life is put into perspective when an enemy comes back to haunt them. Will this triad survive intact and find their happiness all over again?
Blurred Expectations is overflowing with emotions. Hannah, Josh and Reed are my favorite Redwoods. I felt so bad for Hannah. Her struggle is touching and her men’s determination to make her happy makes for a compelling story. Every Redwood Pack fan will love this story.
I have never been disappointed by one of Carrie Ann Ryan's books and this addition to The Redwood Pack was another in a long line of great books. I have a soft spot for these three characters as I am a huge fan of triads. It just adds to it when it is a MMF triad. Josh, Reed, and Hannah will never have it easy as they are 3 totally different people (a half demon, a werewolf, and a witch)...what could be harder?? I don't want to give too much away but I am super excited that everything turns out the way it needed to. The trials and tribulations of this family and pack are almost too much to bear.
Another great read by Ryan. I LOVED this lil book. It is touching and HOT. How can this threesome NOT be HOT!? It was an exciting and well-paced read for a novella. Sometimes they seem so rushed, not the case here. I really recommend reading the other Redwood books to fully appreciate this great read.
If you haven't already, check out Carrie Ann Ryan's other series - Dante's Circle and Holiday, Montana. Check out Holiday, Montana Series if you need a little smile with your smoking hot reading every now and then.
Oh my did I cry! I love Josh and Hannah and Reed and this novella really lets you see into their hearts. Full review at http://sizzlinghotbooks.com/blurred-e...
got to love a trio mating .. The was a very good story i hated that reed was captured and it started the book that why but it was a very interesting read
At last. I’m so happy for the trio and their happily ever after. They have such a unique relationship. Great storyline and a fantastic performance from Gregory.
Hannah fears that she is failing them as a partners, seeing that she hasn't gotten pregnant. The guys are trying to assure her they love her regardless

Babies Everywhere...
Hannah, Josh and Reed Jameson share the Trinity Bond, a very strong magical bond in the pack and Hannah is settling in as the healer, but all three are still grieving the loss of the baby Hannah loss when she depleted herself when she saved Micah and Josh after Caym nearly killed them in Enforcer's Redemption. Now Hannah sinks deeper and deeper into a depression as each cycle passes and she still has not conceived. Josh and Reed try to help her and they miss their mate as she pulls farther and farther away from them.
After one particular discussion Hannah goes into the woods thinking it is safe since Bay did the blood bond with Kade and the Alpha to reinforce the wards protecting the den only to find someone has found a way to circumvent them. She is now fighting for her life and praying her mates will find her in time. A new danger comes to the Redwood Pack and it may cost them their healer and Josh and Reed may loose their mate? Pick up your copy of Blurred Expectations today, but keep in mind this book truly requires that you read the books that came before. Believe me that is no hardship. Carrie Ann Ryan has provided a series you will want to immerse yourself in and if possible move in with. You can purchase each book separately or you can by them in volumes of two books each. Either way you will be sure to read this series again and again.
BLURRED EXPECTATIONS is another great addition to the Redwood Pack series. I still love the three menage characters and their heartfelt and sexy relationship.
Hannah is devastated that she can't get pregnant after miscarrying recently. It's up to her two mates, Josh and Reed, to show Hannah they're still a strong triad the pack can rely on.
I loved this menage in their full novel and they continue to be excellent here. I love the loving, tender and sexy relationship Hannah has with the two men but also one they share with each other. In my opinion, the men in menage stories often don't connect on a sexual or emotional level and it's been one of my favorite thing with this menage that the men love each other as much as they do Hannah.
The plot offers good resolution to the pregnancy issue in two ways, the expected and the unexpected. Readers will be satisfied with inclusion of familiar members of the wolf shifter pack if they like this series as much as I do.
BLURRED EXPECTATIONS is just as good as I've come to expect from this author's Redwood Pack series. New readers will go back to devour the other books in the series, including Hannah, Reed and Josh's first story and be glad they did.
"Blurred Expectations" by Carrie Ann Ryan. Book 4.5 in the Redwood Pack series.
I really liked this novella. The main characters of Reed, Hannah and Josh are revisited in this story.
The basic premise is Reed, Hannah and Josh are trying to have a baby and it's doesn't seem to be happening for them. It seems like everyone else around them are having babies and expanding their families and Hannah is feeling stressed out that she's not conceiving. At the same time, Reed and Josh feel guilty too because they can't seem to get Hannah pregnant.
This little novella shows how the triad are dealing with their fertility issues and their emotional issues as a three-way relationship when things are not going as easily as planned. Add in some excitement in the form of someone from Josh's past and you have a really good little novella.
Oh! I must also say that in previous books there has been an issue with grammar mistakes but I'm happy to say that in this novella there were only one or two grammar issues. Way better than in the previous books. I'm not even taking off any stars because I usually do when it comes to grammar.
Overall, I really enjoyed this look into the life of the triad.
May I start by saying that its stories like this that make Carrie Ann Ryan's Redwood Pack a MUST read for any Paranormal lover! Our favourite Trinity is struggling with emotional baggage. Josh, Reed and Hannah who captured our hearts in book 3 - Trinity Bound are experiencing the heartache that accompanies a devastating loss, and Hannah refuses to accept that she was not solely to blame. While Josh and Reed attempt to reassure their mate that their love and devotion to her has not dwindled in any way, Hannah continues to push them away and threatens the very bound that is meant to bind them mind, body and soul forever. Take a journey into the very real conflict and near disastrous outcome that occurs, when one person fails to believe that they are not always in total control and that fate can deal the most crippling blows when least expected. To really appreciate this story, it should be read between books 4 - 5. This will help the reader understand the characters and their coming together as the Redwood's triad.
I have been waiting for this novella since I first heard it was going to be written. I love this series and really loved the story of this mating. I read the first chapter on Carrie Ann's blog a while ago and was crushed. Experiencing Hannah's emotions while they are so desperately trying to start a family was powerful. I was so happy when it was finally up on Amazon yesterday so I could finish the story and get to the HEA Carrie Ann is known for. The story was beautifully written and had the emotional journey of the three along with some adventure and the heat Carrie Ann is well known for. I was afraid the topic would be too emotional for me, but Carrie Ann nailed it in an authentic way. If you have not read at least Trinity Bond, this book will probably not be something you are interested in. The story is complete, but I feel you would be missing the connections needed to make it the great read that it is.
