The Core

Rate this book
Continue to follow Diamond and Sid in their fight for survival and to keep the core in the right hands. The enemy is closer than ever searching for the core, something so powerful it could sustain the energy of half of the US, but if it were to fall into the wrong hands in a society that is overwhelmingly desperate for energy, it could mean the end of freedom and lives. Watch as Diamond battles with the shadows of her recent past. Her struggle within could compromise the safety of those around her.

REVIEW: This is the second book in the Diamond mini series. I have to savmy I have enjoyed this series more then I thought. The first book made me mad for reason I will not say, but they are not bad reasons just something that happened in the book. I don't want to spoil it for you. But this book redeemed itself,it took all sour feelings away. This book has a distopian feel to it so if your like me and love distopian novels you will love this series. More then anything I feel a strong emotion for what these kids were going through! Having three kids my self I wanted to pull them into my arms and love them when they felt they had no one. Its nice when a story has characters you can relate to. Being as sad as it was I am happy to say this book brought out tall tale signs of a developing romance. Which I love a happy ending, I can't help but to root for these oddly named kids. I give this book five stars!. The only thing that bugs me about this books is their lengths. I wish it was a novel and not a short series, in which i would buy for twenty dollars right now with the cliff hanger at the end of book two.

The Core was great book and made me want to read this mini series even more. We start with the kids Sid, Diamond, and Mica meeting their new guests, Gypsum, Amber, and Azure. Diamond is unsure on how to feel about them, why where they next to their hide-out and can she trust them. Plus Diamond starts to have mixed feelings about the boy Gypsum and Sid. But as the people who are trying to get 'the core' gets closer to finding their hide out the kids must decided what to do. Leave and brave the outside world away from their safe haven, or stay and hope not to be found. Diamond also questions what is 'the core', why do these people want it and why did their parents leave them? All they know is that 'the core' is said to hold a lot of energy and everyone seems to want it. This was a great second part to the Diamond mini-series and I can't wait for the next one!

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Amazingly this story started exactly where the first one ended. It didn't even skip a beat, which is awesome. Although, I also would have enjoyed if it was one big book so then we didn't get the crazy, insane cliffhangers. I actually think this story is shorter then the second one if that's even possible haha.
I liked how the three new characters have been introduced, and we learn a little bit about each one of them, but I still can't decide if they can be trusted. I loved all the descriptive language that the author uses throughout the book. The only part that I hated was the cliffhanger ending. URGH!!! Can't wait for Ransom!
Thanks again J. M. Zuniga for another awesome read!!!

OMG that was so good!!!! My curiosity peaked at the end with who was chasing Diamond.

Once again J.M filled a short story with so much action and unanswered questions that you have to read Ransom! Now the hard part... Waiting for it to be out for purchase :)

Great job on a great series!!!!

The Core picks up right where Under Ground left off. We get to know more about the "guests" that have gone into hiding along with Diamond, Sid, and Mica. Can they trust them or should they trust them? Together they end up discovering The Core but what is it? Why do people want it? The ending is such a cliffhanger but luckily the third book in the series is now available because I need more!

Oh my goodness! There is something to be said about short reads! There is so much in this little book! This one picks up right where Under Ground left off. It's like watching a TV series unfold. You follow Diamond and her gang as they have to excape from their hiding area. What will become of them? Read the next book to find out!

This series needs to be read in order. In book 2 Diamond and Sid leave with their new friends and try to protect the Core. However stakes get a little high and the Core might not be worth protecting. This series sucks you right in and you never want it to end. Luckily I read all three together.
