Sharp As a Cucumber

Rate this book
"And to think I almost missed the murder because I broke a nail." So starts the evening when Brenda LaVoom accompanies her lawyer boss/boyfriend to the home of millionaire Wilbur Woebegone. Before the evening is over, she meets the diverse members of Wilbur's family, witnesses some startling events, and is a suspect in a murder!Based on the wildly popular murder mysteries that her company, Deadly Affairs, used to produce, Sharp as a Cucumber is as much fun as author Jan Scheuermann's murder parties were. This comical murder mystery will test your detecting skills, as the author issues a challenge to the readers to solve the mystery before the heroine does. Are you smarter than Brenda LaVoom?About Deadly AffairsJan Scheuermann founded Deadly Affairs in 1985. For 10 years she blithely killed over 400 victims at over 300 murder parties. Governors, nuns, international singing superstars, and taxidermists were just some of the victims who were poisoned, stabbed, shot, and electrocuted in settings such as a cave, golf course, a planetarium, a church, and numerous private homes over the Pittsburgh and Southern California areas, and many cities in between. The party guests played the characters, so an invitee might receive instructions to come as a country hick or a Fortune 500 company owner. One of the guests was murdered, and one was the killer. Ms. Scheuermann played Inspector Clueless, questioning the characters, showing everyone the clues and evidence, and challenging them to solve the crime.About the AuthorWhen illness forced Ms. Scheuermann to fold her business in 1996, she wrote this manuscript, based on her most popular script. Now a quadriplegic, Ms. Scheuermann found her manuscript and, with the help of family and friends, whipped it into shape for publication. All of the descriptions of the characters in Sharp as a Cucumber are taken from the way participants at the party actually appeared.
