Breaking the Cycle

Rate this book
Kate Bynum is a patrol cop working the graveyard shift. She has seen more than her share of domestic violence calls. Often, these besieged women are unable to find a way to stop the torment themselves. When she meets a young woman who is trapped in an abusive marriage by her politically connected husband, Kate must find a way to help the woman escape and break the vicious cycle of abuse.

This is a fair short story. It is a common resolution type found in fiction for this common premise type. That is not bad, nor is it good.

This is a story that has well constructed sentences, but, is not unique enough in any way to set it apart from many of similar type.

Many will find it an enjoyable read due to resolution. Many will find it an okay read and move on to something else (this one forgotten) that grips and pulls in and makes one think and feel something long after done reading.

There is nothing bad about this book at all. Well, except that abuse exists at all (in any form) - is bad. This is just a run of the mill tale. And, with vigilante justice books akimbo - just nothing different about this one to compel me to strongly recommend.
Though, again, many will enjoy as is fast paced and it ends on happy note resolution wise for the cop.

So, average.

Short but sweet

This would have made a great novel. But it was short and sweet. Loved the justice. Good job to the author.

Short story, quick read. I really enjoyed this story. It is a vicious cycle and from a woman's perspective, I was cheering on the main character!

This book was a quick read, and I did enjoy it; however, I would have like it a lot better if it would have been longer, and went into more detail.

Short story. Seemed like a school paper to me. Not enough details.
