4.25 out of 5. This third book in this series continues the story of two partners, Tyler Paulsen--a British-born suspense/mystery novelist of reknown, and Thomas Kinsey, a highly successful architect, both of whom have lived in the Tampa, FL area for years and have been lovers/committed partners for nearly two decades. Neveah came into their lives a number of years earlier, initially as their cleaning lady and a woman who was being abused by a mean and overbearing, lazy, alcoholic and who fell in love with them, believing them to be totally gay. She did not realize that they were both bi-sexual and had fallen for her in a big way. Now, in this third book, having weathered several very serious challenges to their triad relationship, Nevvie and her two husbands, along with their two sons, are embarking on a cross country RV "vacation" of sorts, but really for the purpose of helping Nevvie to find her adoptive mother--the woman who abandoned her and whose actions put Nevvie in harms way as a teenager. This is a book that continues the vibrant and loving story of three people whose connections to one another are astounding. Tyler and Thomas love their wife with utter abandon while still maintaining their love affair with one another. Nevvie is always encouraging the two men to be together without her and as a part of their threesome and the dynamic of their triad is deeply loving, erotic, and filled with energy. They each know their strengths and live in a relationship that gives each room to fulfill their personal goals, all the while recognizing their weaknesses and the ways they depend on one another to keep the others balanced and on track. This is especially true between Tyler and Thomas, but Nevvie has grown into a strong and vibrant woman, finished her college degree, and is very much an equal partner in the configuration. Their relationship with their sons is warm and winsome and this book is a continuation of a story that is the kind that needs to be read and enjoyed. It, more than the others in this series, ends with somewhat of a cliff-hanger, one that is definitely a seque into the next "chapter" in their lives. As Ms Dalton is one of my high-on-the-list favorite authors, I am delighted to the continuation of Nevvie, Tom, and Tyler's story, the often unexpected expansion of their extended family and the growing cast of characters that make this saga as compelling as it is. Just another wonderful book from a really, really good writer.
