Evelyn Angel and her friends are intent on returning to normal everyday life after their recent battle with the vampire Dante Sanuto.
However, more challenges are on the horizon. Evelyn discovers she may be pregnant, but that's not her only concern. She can't be sure who is the father of the child. Love and friendship are put to the test.
Worst of all, one vengeful person threatens to destroy everything Eve has fought for and holds dear to her heart.
Jez Strider has always been drawn to the shadows — the places where the supernatural brushes against the painfully human. Her stories explore identity, survival, and the strange beauty of being an outsider.
After stepping away from writing to face some of life’s heavier battles, she’s returned with a voice that’s stronger, darker, and more honest than ever.
She lives in Tennessee with her boyfriend and a small constellation of animals who have shaped her life as much as any story. They’re the quiet magic in the background while she builds new worlds, one chapter at a time.
I liked this one even more than the first. (still could have been longer..) The flow was great maybe a tad predictable, come on we totally expected the Taya debacle. I am definitely going to continue the series (although not right away) I have looked forward and I love how soon the story will turn to Fate ( I wanted to learn more about her) and then later to Vincent. Love it when an author doesn't drone on with the same main characters over and over.(sometimes it is better to change up) Good job Ms. Strider :-)
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
"Expecting Eternity" by Jez Strider was a difficult read for me. I really wanted to like this book as I am a fan of all things paranormal. The storyline is an interesting one and is why I continued to read to the very end.
First, I want to express to the author that the main characters were too immature to be believable. I can't even remember their names. The female is a very old vampire and a doctor, yet she acts, talks and behaves as if she is 16 years old. Her husband, the human, is even more immature.
The dialogue was meaningless and I found myself skipping through major parts of this story trying to find bits and pieces that would grab my attention. I finally found it at the very end when I found out that the child was her husbands and very human.
2.7 stars. If you're thinking about reading this book I highly recommend reading the first. This isn't a standalone but you can get the gist of what happened. The world and the characters didn't leave a lasting impression but not much time was spent on development. Mostly the book seemed to deal with interpersonal relationships. I might of liked the book more but I'm not a fan of cheaters or people who date their friends ex's.
So we have a vampire race based on a vampiric disease. So while she is pregnant and now human she has to figure out what to do with less time. Her vampire boyfriend is not her boyfriend anymore and is in love with someone else. Her boyfriend turned husband is jealous however he is human.
This story is confusing and improbable to a point. How could she not feel resentment? I don't know and yet it is still puzzling. I like the characters and thought they were relatable in some way.
