BDSM Menage Contemporary

Dasha Moore commands the world’s stages as one of pop’s reigning stars, but finds her ultimate joy at the feet of David Pennington as his willing new submissive. In one night, her charismatic career manager becomes the Dominant of her body as well -- and the owner of her heart.

David is blown away, in all the good ways, by discovering D’s submissive streak. He can’t wait to brand her deeper with his domination, but a lunatic fan has other, deadly plans for Dasha.

Consumed with keeping Dasha safe, David gives the FBI a full-access pass for their investigation, headed by Special Agent Kress Moridian, a guy with an unnerving protective streak. David’s initial instincts about Kress are the agent is another Dom, and his definition of “full-access” includes Dasha herself. Being shared with Kress is a new tune for Dasha, but she finds herself loving its rougher strains -- and she begs David for their three-part harmony again.

But while her Doms make her body sing, Dasha’s heart and soul are torn. And what will happen to their song when they finally find the madman who wants her dead? what happens if they don’t find him?

Three-Part Harmony is the first book in The Kinky Truth series and also the first book I have read of this author. I was intrigued by a pop singer falling for her manager but then a lunatic stalking her where she needed the FBI's protection. What I found when I read it was slightly different than what I pictured it to be. Let me get into the review to explain more.

Dasha Moore is on top of the world as a very popular pop singer, but she longs to show her love for her manager, David Pennington, who goes through women like dirty socks. Once again disappointed in her father for his lack of attention to any part of her life, Dasha decides to take matters in her own hands and show David she is the woman he wants. But there are qualities David seeks in his women that Dasha might be shocked at.

David Pennington has been attracted to Dasha, but he is a Dom with sadistic needs he is sure Dasha can't handle. When she makes a move on him, he comes clean on what he needs, sure she won't be able to handle him. But Dasha holds her ground and David can't say no.

When a rabbid fan starts threatening Dasha, David has to accept the full help of FBI Special Agent Kress Moridian. While the two men clash at first, they find a common ground in the fact they are both Dom's with similar tastes. Kress wants Dasha just as much as David and the two start to share her between them. But as they share her, Dasha's heart grows to love both men. How will she say goodbye to either of them once it is safe?

As I moved through the book, I had a lot of issues with a few things. Dasha and David have a scene right away when they go at each other, but then take a two week break. When they decide to move forward, there is no talk about limits, soft or hard which rubbed me the wrong way. See, David is at times pretty sadistic and Dasha is pretty innocent in the ways of BDSM. Their first true scene is a harsh one where David does something permanent to Dasha that I objected to very much. There was no discussion of what was to happen. There was no scene really before hand. No talk of limits. And Dasha just takes it. She does object some, but quickly is overrode with some gentle and at times firm reminders. It just rubbed me all the wrong way.

David also wasn't totally committed to the relationship. Or at least he wasn't thinking it would be a long term relationship. That was another reason I didn't like the permanent marking of Dasha. If he wasn't going to stick around forever, then he should have given her a choice of what was going to happen.

David and Kress work on changing Dasha's relationship with her father, which probably helped. But when they punished her over it, I wanted to pick up a flogger on David because he too was dealing with issue that maybe he needed to be punished over.

While Dasha is a pop singer, you never see her in concert or practicing. It was just like it was a side item in her life. I would have liked to see her work more in her craft as that is part of who she was.

The scenes between the three were often intense and very sexy. I liked how the author handled the uncomfortable situation the characters were feeling as they got to know each other and figuring out their places in the relationship. While they fell easily into the play scenes, their hearts were not so easy to sort and basically that came down to a lack of communication.

The side story of a crazed fan was ok. It was a little predictable, but in the end, that wasn't really the reason I was reading the story.

I am a big fan of discussing limits when reading BDSM stories. A lack of knowledge of what each partner wants or needs or even is scared of is important. Even if the story doesn't give you the details of this, it needs to be mentioned they were discussed. The first scene was too harsh for me to accept easily, not that I didn't want to see it happen, I just would have preferred there be talk about it before surprising her.

The authors voice was a delight to read and kept me interested. I can't wait to read more of her stories and watch her writing grow. I recommend this to anyone who loves to see true love form between characters and have the characters grow from beginning to end.

I enjoyed this story a great deal. It follows the romance that develops between pop singer, Dasha Moore, and her manager, David Pennington. The story begins with another disappointment delivered to Dasha by her busy senator father. In a moment of weakness, she chooses to act on her long-held attraction towards her manager, just so that she could feel wanted by someone. He almost rejects her as well, but stops her only to explain that he is a Dominant and that if they become involved she would be his submissive. That’s the only way things will work. From there, Dasha leaps down the rabbit hole into places that she’s never been before.

The best parts of the story for me were the BDSM scenes between Dasha and David (and later, Kress). Not a speck of “vanilla” sex to be had anywhere. David didn’t start her off easy, either. He threw her into the deep end of the pool without any water wings. It was great to see Dasha adapt. Even though she protested some things on occasion, she didn’t come across as a particularly mouthy sub, which is a big pet peeve of mine. (If you’re the sub, be the sub. You know the score. Quit arguing all the dang time!)

The addition of Kress into their scenes and into their relationship happened very differently than I’m used to seeing in ménage stories. Usually, the men are relatives or incredibly close friends that decided years before that they were going to have the same woman. In this case, David brings Kress in because of a shared deep concern for Dasha’s safety, and because he’d figured out off-screen that Kress was a Dom. I know romance novels accelerate time as a rule, but Dasha and David had only been an item for a matter of days before Kress is in there scening with them. They’d known him for roughly the same amount of time. It hurts the brain if one thinks about it logically too long.

The main plot point of Dasha being in danger was a minor one to me, as are the other random things that happen or are mentioned in the story. It only serves as the impetus for really bringing and driving the trio together. Most other characters are one-dimensional with Mary and Raife, perhaps, being the exception. The evil villain behind the plot was stopped pretty easily once the heroes figured it out.

To sum up, I loved reading the relationship development and the scenes between Dasha, her Sir, and her Sergeant. Ms. Payne’s next book is supposed to be about Dasha’s father, though I’m not nearly as enthused about it since her father is a bit of a douche. I have a feeling that I will still enjoy the story. I’ll be waiting for it.

P.S., I think Sergeant is an awesome Dom title, and a unique one at that. I’m going to have to add it to my personal fantasy repertoire.

Dasha Moore is the world's favorite pop star of the moment. She feels at home on stage, surrounded by her adoring fans. One would think she had it all. However, something is missing. She has had her eye on her manager, David Pennington, for some time now. She's always wondered if he felt the same spark that she did. In a moment of "what the hell," she lets David know her desires. He's not only taken aback, but he's also up for the challenge.

David is a Dom who has only dreamed of one day making Dasha his willing submissive. Dasha is quickly thrust into a world where all her erotic dreams come to life. Everything is going along well until her life is threatened in a major way.

Enter special agent Kress Moridian of the FBI, who finds himself taken with the sultry Dasha. It's apparent that both he and David are on the same page when it comes to not only protecting but dominating Dasha. Being shared by two extraordinary Doms leaves her body ablaze and her heart feeling things she never expected. However, there is still an unseen enemy who wants to cause her harm. David and Kress will stop at nothing to protect her, but will they be too late to save the songbird that has changed their lives?

This book was really well written with strong, likeable characters. However, I found the plot a bit lacking in the suspense department. I wanted there to be a bit more drama during the big reveal of who wanted to cause Dasha harm. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between the three main characters even if it did seem a little rushed. It almost felt like there were some parts of the story that were edited out.

Where Ms. Payne excelled was in her depiction of a BDSM relationship that was more than just sexual in nature. Once the relationship was established between the three characters, I became completely invested in it. There was heart and passion in every scene they had together. I especially loved the ending of this book. I would hope to see how Dasha, Kress and David develop after this book. It's not every day one can make a three-way D/s relationship work. However, Ms. Payne made it seem very possible.

Three Part Harmony mixes the best of an erotic BDSM novel with a mystery to solve that makes for a steamy hot suspenseful read that will keep you on the edge of your seat with your hand busy...
flipping the pages of course what did you think I was talking about ;0) )

Dasha is the dutiful daughter to her senator father and never has the back bone to stand up to him when he hurts her feelings. David is Dasha's manager with his own family issues to deal with because of his brother and a former sub of his, Kress is not your typical FBI G-men with the bad suits and worse haircuts no he is tall, dark and smoking hot.

Dasha who has been in love with David for a long time agrees to become David's sub when he reveals his kink to her after she offers him her body. When Dasha starts getting threats the FBI steps in, in the form of Agent Kress Moridian. Kress is also a Dom and while it's his job to protect Dasha he can't help the possessive feelings he starts to have for her and when he is invited to play with Dasha and David the trio has chemistry that would power a nuclear reactor.
With all the steamy goodness of a great BDSM menage Angel Payne still manages to give us a suspenseful mystery at the same time. Some one is threatening Dasha's life and they don't stop just because the FBI is on the job.

BDSM novels can be more porn than romance(all smut no story), this is not the case here. We have a beautiful romance that blooms between Dasha and David as well as Dasha and Kress. It is hot and a total panty wringer but not pornographic, it is a fantastic story.

Even knowing the end to the mystery I think this is something I will re-read just for the chemistry between this trio.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This novel had everything you could think of, love story, lust, action, bondage, dominance, submission, and mind blowing sexual action. As I've said this was my first foray into the world of BDSM literature and for the most part I was pleasantly surprised. (Some of it was not in my "wheelhouse" but I knew what was involved going in, and mentally did the equivalent of "lalalalala" with my fingers in my ears during certain portions.) This novel was not just about bondage and sex, it also had a pretty well developed story between the main characters as well as a storyline involving a deadly stalker that is the catalyst to adding the second male hero. This story is about trusting, caring, consenting adults that have tried conventional sex and find Dominance and submission more to their liking. I am going to repeat one more time just in case.

WARNINGS: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable: anal play/intercourse, BDSM theme and elements, ménage (m/f/m).

This novel is from my personal bookshelf, which means I purchased it. Therefore it is a honest review.

started 10-19-12, DID NOT FINISH

I had high hopes for this book....menage with two yummy Doms...yes please!

So I was really enjoying this book.....UNTIL David blindsides her with his big surprise at the end of chapter 5 and beginning of chapter 6. That scene just bothered me too much.

There are are too many other books I want to read. Sadly, this one is a Did Not Finish for me.

WOW! I discovered Angel Payne's writing with her WILD Boys series, I could kick myself for waiting to read this one! Amazing, sizzling sex without taking over the story line. A complete home run! I can't wait to read more.

Dasha has known, worked with David for years so their trust has already been established. However, they had kept their mutual desires for each other hidden. When she discovers his Dominance, he is shocked by her complete submission to him in this amazing story of trust and love.

And we can't forget the crazy psycho that is after her, which brings in "Her Sergeant" for even more heat and passion!

This was a DNF for me, for now. The writing is good and I found some parts very sexy but overall with the BDSM theme, I just wasn't feeling it. Nothing against BDSM stories overall, some just work better than others for me. For the price ($7+) and the amount of books I have on my TBR list, I decided to set this one aside and get a refund. Others that enjoy a BDSM story may really enjoy this one. I think if I would have been in a different mood, I would have.

This was definitely an entertaining read. BDSM Menage done extremely well and captivating enough that kept me reading for hours non stop. The three mains are likeable, the banter are funny especially between David and Kress and the plot are well done. Couldn't ask for more.

I´m afraid I got a bit bored with this one... Only when she was with both Doms did it get a bit interesting... and the ending ceremony was a tad confusing and just too much
