Rate this book
In Book Two of the Cartel Series, Alex McKenna is back and she's in deeper than ever.

Following bloody wake of recent events, Alex has to find a way to outwit the authorities and make some hard decisions - before they're made for her.

As she learns to wield the power of an organized crime empire, her unconventional methods counter the very logic of the underworld she's infiltrating - and as she finds solace in the arms of more than one man, her unconventional choices smear the lines of love and hate.

Intriguing

This story continues to intrigue me and is quite exciting. However, all the typos, grammatical errors, and missing words throughout the book can be distracting. It takes away from the intensity of it.

Couldn't Finish This One!, November 16, 2012

I bought this immediately after I finished reading the first series "Under Construction", I was so impressed with the first and believing it will be just as good if not even better, but was so terribly disappointed instead! where the first series had integrity and believable plot, this one lacked in all aspects of what made "Under construction" shine...where Alex (the heroine) was strong, loving and has a good sense of right and wrong in the first, on this, she was brass, bold and greedy! greedy in the sense of wanting all the men and another woman's attention and lusting after them...no self respecting woman sleeps with two different men, lust after another and still claim to really love one!... she suddenly became a different person... directing and leading these powerful and mean gang of men whom all have been feared amongst drug cartels for decades...and her killing one gangster on a running boat in cold blood was over the top, way unbelievable!!!almost an insult to the readers intelligence... it's no wonder why the author mentioned in one of her comments that she was disappointed she hasn't had any review despite her giving away over a hundred books for free... to this day, after buying this book for about 4 weeks now, I have yet to get to the half of it, and believe me when I say I can finish a book of this length in a matter of 5-6 hours tops! With the rate I'm going, I might take a year and a half to finish it.

This book was an absolute thrill. Under Construction was fantastic, and book two of The Cartel Series does not disappoint. As if Alex didn't have enough trouble with Cale and Banker warring for her heart, she has to go and make it more crowded in there. Very hot and intriguing story. And the ending? Oh hell, please hurry up with book three! I have to know what happens!

Exciting and unexpected

Some really great stuff in this one. The author describes this as killing people mixed with smutty romance. I would probably say tough girl thriller with sex. A good read. 3.5
