When the Devil’s son
Gives you a gift,
It’s probably a good idea
To say no fucking thanks.
But if you do accept it,
You’ve got no one to blame
But yourself.

When the Devil comes to you
Asking a favor
It’s a good idea to say ‘Yes, Sir.’
Because the Devil pays
His debts and you might
Need him someday.

I’m making this shit up as I go,
So it might all be wrong.

You don’t want to owe that Luck bastard anything. It always asks for something in return.

There’s a new twist on an old prophecy and this one brings the End of Days. Junco must make a choice – human or avian? Only one race can survive.

Lucan has secrets and the lies are flowing like a mountain river during spring thaw. But he needs Junco to cooperate just a little bit longer or it all falls apart.

The Siblings on Earth are waiting for the Seventh to return and pull their clutch together. But Earth has secrets too – secrets that change everything.

Junco has survived against impossible odds, but the cost of survival is higher than she ever imagined. Luck is about to catch up with Junco Coot and her debt must be paid.

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

In Flight, Junco finds herself in the hot seat once again. Back on Earth - to fight. And to find her clutch siblings in order to end the war between avians and humans once and for all. Maybe...
There was a lot of action here as well, and the suspense kept me awake at night - wanting to grab my kindle rather than sleeping.
Junco's kind of flashbacks might be memories, but they also might not, and that confused me a little bit.

5 STARS!!!

OH.MY.GOOD!
I read all three of these books in TWO DAYS! I'm getting twitchy right now because I need to start the fourth, so this will be quick. I have to tell you I have never read a story like this ever. Sci-fi is new to me, I did not know how I would feel about the genre. It really doesn't matter what genre your reading, when the writing, storyline, and characters are impeccable!

Here's proof of the AMAZING writing abilities and imagination of JA Huss. I read these because I loved her other series, which is completely different, but NOT anymore or less OUTSTANDING, CAPTIVATING, AND INTRIGUING!

If I was forced to make the decisions Junco has, I would scream. Yet I'm not sure of her loyalty or really what her decision really were, but I'm positive I wouldn't know how to choose, who to choose. I'm torn at this point.

"I'm going to love you for thousands of years, Junco. Thousands of years"

Why isn't everyone reading this great series?? GET ON IT!

This one was kind of rough for me - on one hand I loved the action and it stayed exciting from beginning to end. I also really enjoyed the flashes that gave me a lot more insight into Junco. That being said, I liked Junco a lot less in this book than I have in past books. I feel like those flashes should have made me like her more, have more empathy and understanding for her but they didn't. I still felt like I don't love the person she's grown into. She's almost become an anti-hero for me. I feel like, yes, people have and continue to do her wrong, but she seems to do the same to just about everyone around her. And she gets so mad at them for doing it to her, but can't see that she does the same thing. IDK but I hope some of the relationship messiness gets sorted out in future books.

AGAIN? REALLY J. ANNE?

J.A. Huss surprised me AGAIN after Fledge (the second book of the I Am Just Junco series). And by surprise, I don't mean good, or bad. Neither. I mean, ass-whipping, bad-ass, killing, bloody and running-out-of-words surprise.

In the third instalment of the I Am Just Junco series, we're introduced into a deeper depth that goes through the core of the avian race. As you know about the prophecy, now Junco has to make the choice -- human or avian.

For me, I just want her to stand straight up and scream "avian". But I know it's not possible, especially since it's Junco and she never follows the rules. So she, again, leads us into another battle. This time, to save all of her brothers and sisters who'd been captured.

The only tiny problem I had about this instalment was: WTH is this? A love-PENTAGON?! (I will not reveal anything) I'm not a big fan of love-triangles or squares in the first place, so sometime in this book, I was like: "URGH!! What is wrong with this girl?" But then again, it's Junco, and there's always something wrong with her or else I wouldn't even love her.

The action in here was extreme bloody, and bloody hell, sometimes even scary that I jumped out of my own skin. I wish I could swear, but that's not going to make a good impression, so no. BUT I BLOODY LOVE THIS BOOK, THIS WHOLE SERIES!!

This has not only sci-fi, but it has a mixture of action, adventure, kinda-paranormal, aliens/angels, romance, blood & gore (which everybody should know that I love. It wasn't that gory but it was very realistic).

Again, the emotions and feelings created in here was deep enough to make me fall through it. I could feel the anger, vividness, annoyance and sadness that goes on throughout the whole story. (SPOILER) I nearly even cried when Isten died. I was THAT close to crying but couldn't because my step-dad was right next to me. It was so emotional.

I wish someone would make a movie out of this whole series or something. Hell, I'll pay £1000/$1519.10 to go and see this on the big screen (joke). You have no idea how AMAZING this series is. I cannot describe how amazing J.A. Huss is. She is an amazing author. And before I forget, THANK YOU for the millionth time to Alexia Purdy (she's an absolute AMAZING author) for gifting me with book 2 & 3.

I NEED THE FOURTH BOOK NOW!!! OR I'LL DIE RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!! I wish I could, I don't know, win it as a signed ARC or something. I would kill to have something signed by J.A. Huss. I'M TELLING YOU, SHE IS AN AMAZING AUTHOR!!! She is one of the top authors I've ever read.

Love her so much!!!

Junco, poor girl, you just can't catch a break! The big, sometimes confusing, story keeps on building and building. There's lies and secrets everywhere! No wonder why Junco doesn't know if she's coming or going, people that she loves and trusts keep pretty vital info from her. Now there's like 10 more people who love her. Just kidding, there's like 5. The ending was a bit whoa, what's going on? But I've got to continue because I'm sucked in to this action packed story. There's never a dull moment in Junco's world.

5 Prepare for the Unknown Stars!

Ok, so Here it is. Flight is a non stop, action packed, sci-fi adventure. You never know what is coming next and who isn't going to make it. I am still so pumped up from reading this book. Huss does not disappoint with the twists and turns.

I do not envy Junco. She is still dealing with a lot. That being said I am intrigued with Gideon. I cannot wait to find out more.

Ms. Huss continues to unwind the mysteries while maintaining the tension. The relationships among the characters are constantly changing, evolving and distructing as the plot moves along in a fantastic, but plausible manner...OK, it's sci-fi, so plausible within the construct of the world Huss has built....whatever, I can't put it down, that's what is most important.

The book was great. Then in the end, someone pressed the skip button. The old dude, Lucan or whatever, went from father to lover in one paragraph. Where is the baby? What happened to her memories? I got a headache. Everything was going great until the last chapter. The next book better be a prequel to the last chapter. The author has me over here confused to the tenth degree.

Great Lead Up To The Return To Earth And The Mission Itself Is Intense, But Once Again The End Leaves Something To Be Desired.

This book covers Junco and Tier returning from their vacation, the lead up to the 039'S return to earth for the retrieval of the remaining five siblings, and the battle on earth.

Junco and Tier spend a wonderful three weeks alone together after she is reborn eight months following her death, but reality is a slap in the face upon their return. Tier is now the leader of Junco's team from the Fledge, and Braun is his XO. Asher has been promoted to commander of the 039. Junco wants to stay with Tier and her old Fledge team, but Lucan separates the couple. He announces that Junco will stay in his quarters, will help him get rid of most or all of the newly promoted women Aves - who are hardly qualified to be warriors, spend the week making up with the remaining members of the 039, and not see Tier. The old 039 will be reassembled at the week's end for their return mission to earth.

While complicated, Junco and the 039 do a decent job mending old fences. Junco and Lucan have the opportunity to bond, also. Tier doesn't entirely stay away, though. Junco witnesses a late night argument between Lucan and Sera in which Lucan morphs into a different form, one he is forbidden to show Junco, and Junco runs to Tier for help.

Before the group takes off, Junco is warned that she will see people on earth whom she thought were dead. Like always, she avoids asking many questions, even when given the opportunity. Almost as soon as her team lands on earth, Junco's world is thrown upside down. She realises that she is still missing huge chunks of her memory when things don't add up. She holds a grudge against the Aves for keeping her in the dark and ignorant of many things, although it is really her own fault for avoiding questions and making her preference for ignorance known. In the heat of the battle, she is uncertain about choosing to return with her team after the mission is complete, and leans toward remaining on earth. In the end, Junco experiences loss many times over.

I was all on board with the story until the end. I was not happy with the implications, similar to how I felt about book two in the series. I was just getting behind Junco again. I will keep reading the series and hope it all works out satisfactorily.

“But I do have power. The power of me. I am my own true north and I can shift myself”.

My mind has been blown by the intricate words JA Huss pulls together. Each new chapter takes you on a different rollercoaster where you’re begging to never be let off.
These characters and their world?! Just wow… Junco has literally been to hell and back in such a short time and she still keeps on fighting even when she wants to give up. I absolutely loved her character and persona when it comes to everything she does, including her family and team. My heart just broke for her and some of the other characters at times especially towards the end… like why did that happen??!! I absolutely loved the guys in this book and I’m sure the next one will bring even more unsuspecting moments.

Dripping with teenage angst, our protagonist is a walking bad choice machine, full of contradictions and confusion. The all too knowing, nod, nudge, wink, wink, Judeo-Christian allusions are cringe worthy; as are the transparent ‘mysteries’. However, if that kind of YA, “bad guys are so sexy”, romance is your thing I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this one.

I have another 3 books to go apparently…wish me luck. It feels like going clubbing, I never liked it as a teenager, I can barely endure it now.

This was a lot more of the overly dramatic, overly sensitive Junco stuff. She freaks out over everything anyone does and then forgives everyone for anything they do, and then freaks out when anyone does anything else. It's just too much. But, it was action-packed, interesting, and fun - just over the top in some places. And, Junco got less sympathetic and more frustrating as the series goes on.

This series is killing me. LOL!!

There are so many twists and turns. And you don't know who to trust. I have never cried or gotten so emotional in any of Huss's books before. But this series has my emotions running high. And has my mind racing. I can't get enough.

My review originally posted on The Book Tart http://thebooktart.com/new-fiction-re...

This series just does it for me. Pushes all my buttons. The I Am Just Junco books make my stomach clench, make me tear up, make me wince, make me flinch and keep me on the edge of my seat. Junco grabbed my heart in a vice grip from the very first and never lets go. Flight is the 3rd book in this science fiction series and the clamp is particularly tight and twisty for this journey.

Junco is a heroine who is tormented and tortured, used and abused and yet… she still keeps going. In Flight she has to deal with the fallout of her actions in the previous book and the revelation that there are too many secrets, too many schemes that she was unaware of and a battle is brewing. Wrongs need to be righted.

I admire her tenacity and attitude. And boy does she have attitude to spare! :) She swears. A LOT. But that’s just Junco. And from her, it works. The story is told in an interesting fashion. There are flashback dream sequences. Junco has holes in her memory, because of the trauma of her past she was made to forget… So she could continue to soldier on. But the memories are returning in bits and pieces and she has to decide what and who she can believe.

Trust. Truth. Choice. That’s what Flight was about for me. Junco calls herself the gullible girl. She believes because she wants to have something and someone to hold onto. I ached for her as she discovers all the lies and coverups that the people she should be able to depend on have told her. She wants to have the power of choice! So many things were taken from her by force.

Once again, I got sucked into her world and I loved seeing more of the secondary characters in her life. Lucan, the leader with plans for Junco. Tier, the Avian she loves. Her genetic siblings. Her teammates… Isten, Asher, Gideon. Oh my! *sigh* They are layered and full of shades of gray. I loved and hated each of them at times. None of the characters are plastic or filler. They are all important.

This story is fast paced and full of action. The science fiction elements of this world are fantastic and engrossing. I loved learning more about the Avian race, angels, demons, genetics, mutants, and the end times prophecies that Junco is told she has an important roll to play out.

Just a few of my fav lines… and like always in a J.A. Huss book I highlighted like a crazy person. *blush* 125 notes! So much love for Junco. ;)

♥ “No. I’m not a good girl, that’s common knowledge. I’m a monster, just like you, just like my father, just like my mother. We’re all monsters here.”

♥ How the hell do they do it? Do what, Junco? Make me love them no matter what. I feel Sera’s hesitation but I know she will answer so I’m patient. You want to believe, Junco. It’s that simple. I don’t like that answer so the conversation is over.

♥ “I don’t miss the obvious, ya know. I’m just not interested in knowing certain things. Once it gets in here,” I tap my head, “it never leaves, Lucan. It’s there for good. So, if it makes my life more complicated and I don’t need it to survive at the moment, then I ignore it and let the answers come to me in their own time. I’m extraordinarily patient in that respect.”

♥ It’s always been about choices, hasn’t it? All my life I’ve felt powerless against those who tried to control me. They never asked, simply shifted me by force. Holding me down,

♥ “God knows it’s not your fault, Junco. God knows.” He pulls me against him again. “You’re not bad.” He says it more to himself than he does to me. “I’m just like a lion, Gideon. I do what prairie lions do out on the scrub. I kill.” “The lion has to kill, Junco. If the lion stopped killing it would die. Do you want to die?” I shake my head as I lean into him. “I’ll be a lion if I can live.”

That clamp on my heart I mentioned? Well… this book ripped me up. I cried. I was righteously angry on her behalf and rooting her on as she took the actions she could. I was flipping pages as fast as possible and I highly recommend Flight. But don’t read it without reading the previous books! If you are just starting this adventure you are in luck because book 4, Range, is out now and you won’t have to wait anxiously for the sequel to Flight like I had to. :P

I have to say again how much I adore Junco. I am on her side. I want her to have the power to make choices as she finds out more about her past and the prophecy. I yearn to see her survive and patch up the broken pieces of her soul and find some peace.

((hugs))) Kat

Awesome! I don’t really know where to start. I am still reeling from the emotional turmoil this book put me through. This is for sure a book that’s going to leave me with a book hangover, and that’s a bummer, as
I hate waiting, and need book 4 NOW, Please, I need it like water!
Ok, so now that I got that out, lol

Flight, which is book three of the I Am Just Junco series, and continues the kickass action from books 1 (Clutch) and book 2 (Fledge)

We find our awesome Junco in more adventure, and tangled up in more new missions. Junco had managed to save Tier’s life in Fledge and now has managed to secure a spot as a member of the avians. Junco and Tier even got to spend some private time together as well.
Now they have to go on new missions to wipe out any remaining threats.

She starts to get pulled into many directions and I really feel for Junco. Lets say the reunion with her “parents” was not the best.
We get to see more of Isten in this one, Junco and Isten get closer, but not exactly how you think. I will leave that for you to discover.

They need to go to Earth and get the rest of the seven siblings in the attempt to save the avian race.

We get a return of some previous characters, like Asher, Isten, Lucan, and more.
I do not really know what to think of Lucan, he is still a mystery to me. Isten, he is ok, Asher, he is cool, same for me. Love Tier as usual. Now we get the return of someone from Junco’s past, we learn some of Gideon from some dreams Junco has, but really they are memories that are coming back I think. He seems alright, I can see him becoming a favorite to me, I still love Tier, and see him and Junco together, but who knows.

I feel so much for Junco, she loses so much, it just makes your heart ache for her. She starts to learn more truths about herself that she either didn’t know, or didn’t remember. The poor girl is so messed up, and it makes you wonder how the heck she holds it together as well as she does.

In the end, I agree with what she did, completely, I can understand it.
But I am not so sure about the whole Lucan thing. I just can’t bring myself to trust him. Maybe because he has so much power. I don’t know.
I just can’t connect with Lucan like I do the others.

Anyway, I do not want to say a whole lot more, but want to give you a few great teaser for you, that just cracked me up.

Here is one, where she is on Earth, and just got there, where Gideon is (he is from her past, but she is not remembering it all the way) Anyway, he is human, no wings, and this part is funny. He needs to help her get a human made dress on (long story there) on account of the wings, so here is it:

He moves towards me reluctantly and then tugs on my wings a little as he maneuvers the fabric. I cry out a few times when it gets overwhelming.
"Does it hurt? To touch them?" he asks me as I'm finally pulling the dress down over my legs.
"No, it's sexual, Gideon. You might as well be feeling me up."
I fasten my boots and watch as he blushes like a girl and turns away. "Is that a joke?"
I laugh. "A joke? No. I rarely make jokes."
"Oh, shit. I don't have any experience with wings, I'm sorry."

I laughed out loud at that, lol. Gideon seems to be a good guy. We will see what happens there.
Some major stuff goes down, and can’t spoil it for you, but you’re in for some surprises.

If you had not read the first 2 books, go read them, they are great, and it’s an ongoing story, you need to read them all in order or it won’t be as fulfilling, and likely get lost.

I highly recommend this amazing dystopian scifi/dark fantasy type book. Its amazing.

5 out of 5 stars.

My Review:
Hmm, I'm not sure what to do with this installment in the series. Honestly, I am still reeling from the emotional impact of this book. This is definitely the book to leave me with the book hangover...which is so not good since I have no idea when book #4 is coming out. (please, I really need it to be released SOON!) This book was painful in so many ways, but that's the sign of a good book, right? You know when you are so emotionally invested that it leaves you completely wrung out? That's the way I feel after this book.

There were so many hits for Junco in this book and there aren't any that I can even discuss without spoilers. Throughout this book, Junco is definitely more emotionally fragile than in the other two books before this. Everything that she's gone through is just piling up on her. This girl needs a vacation in the worst way...instead she has the weight of the world, her team, and Tier all upon her...pressuring her to be strong. She's just 19 and is buckling under it all. As a reader, it emotionally hurts to read this book. Every time she turns around, there's another blow...and you just don't know for sure who she should be trusting.

In this book the team is headed to Earth to save the five siblings who remain there. Almost the entire book is a huge battle...and it's not pretty. In between, Junco is learning more truths about her life that she didn't know or didn't remember. She's been so messed up by everyone in her life. It's amazing that the girl holds it together as well as she does. And in the end, I agreed with what she did...wholeheartedly, but am not sure about how I feel with the outcome. Lucan? I'm just not feeling it. I just don't connect with him the way that I do the other characters. Maybe because he holds so much power? I'm just not sure I trust that.

There is one thing that's been a constant in Junco's life, besides the constant killing...there has never been a single person whom she's loved that's ever managed to stick. As a result, she takes comfort and love whenever she can get it. In fact, in this book Istan calls her out about it, calling her too free with her love. She becomes really emotionally intimate (not so much in a sexual manner, but it's still an intimate thing) with several of the guys throughout these books which doesn't really feel right knowing her relationship with Tier, but when you look at her life, it's understandable. And it makes it that much more crushing emotionally once again when someone she loves disappears from her life. Unfortunately, there is too much of that loss in this book.

Then there is the small teaser for book #4 and it just makes me want to sob for her. *gah* Again, this is a sign of an amazing series...I care so much about this character. It's probably not healthy since this is completely fictional world and set of characters, but I have come to love them and care about what's happening. I can't even imagine where the series goes from here, but I'm very excited to find out. (again....soon, right?? Please....)

I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I reviewed Clutch, Fledge, and Flight for the I Am Just Junco blog tour by Bewitching Blog Tours so this review pretty much covers all three books.

This science fiction series by author J.A. Huss totally took me by surprise. "Just Junco" turns out to be a foul-mouthed super badass heroine and the series totally kicks ass.

In the first pages of book one we are introduced right away to Junco, our heroine who is by no means a girly-girl. She's the type who knows all her weapons and firearms, would probably go nuts over a motorcycle helmet sale, and could care less about fashion and anything frilly. All she knows are secret military ops and assassinations. She's been trained to be a ruthless killer since birth and she's pretty good at what she does, but we learn that there's so much more to her and everybody wants her for themselves. Everybody here means the aliens or Avians as they are called, and the humans, all the different factions and republics. They all have an agenda and Junco is right smack in the middle of it all.

Clutch, Fledge, and Flight are pretty much made of the same stuff--they are all exciting, action-packed, and emotional in different ways. In each succeeding book, the excitement and emotional factor rise and you can't help but be swept along with it. It's hard to talk about specific events without giving anything away.

What I really like about this series is the main character, Junco, who is truly a badass killing machine, but we also see a vulnerable side to her. We see how her life has been like since she was young and we see how things affect her. We see her being constantly barraged with things that could bring any person down, but we see her cry, get hurt, and bring herself back up. She is one character that you would truly feel and root for to the end.

Another thing I like about the series is that it's very fast-paced and the story is very original. I like the author's unique writing style. I like that there's always something happening and each twist to the story is revealed at the perfect moment. Sometimes you'd think there are too many twists, but they all add to the story and come together nicely. I also like the play with mythology and religion mixed in with the science.

This series is a fun sci fi piece with a dash of dystopian and a little bit of fantasy. It really is pretty exciting and I can't wait to read what happens next.

I received review copies of the first three books for this blog tour in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not really sure how to review this book without giving things away. However, this is book three in a series, so plenty has happened already, some of which I'm going to inevitably give away.

To begin this review, I'd like to talk about Junco. She's the star of the show here and after the things that happened in the two previous books in this series, she's getting sick of being lied to, and sick of all the fighting and killing. You can definitely tell that even though she got a bit of down time when book two ended, she's still as tired of things. Being lied to for so long doesn't just go away, especially when everyone around you is still lying to you. And that is exactly what is happening around Junco, with everyone lying or omitting things to protect her. She's sick of it, and it really shows. I definitely felt bad for her all throughout this novel, and things only get worse.

As for the side characters, I still like Tier the best, and I really want him and Junco to work out. However, we do learn some more about Lucan, but not enough to really get a sense of whether he's good or bad. In this book, we meet Gideon. He's an interesting one, because he knew Junco from the time when she was little. So it's definitely intriguing to see the two of them interact with each other, but I'm not sure how I feel about him, either. Come to think of it, that's how I feel about so many characters in this series, I would be ridiculously suspicious of everyone if I were Junco, and this just makes the whole storyline amazing.

As for the plot of this book, it's pretty insane. There has been mythology in this series all along. In the first book, it started with Tier and stories he told Junco. In the second, there are more stories, and we find out that Junco could play a part in those stories. In this book, mythology is pretty front and center, because there is a prophecy that involves seven siblings and Junco is one of them. Junco and her team have to go back to Earth to get the other six. This is what this book is about, and it's ridiculously twisty and fast-paced. I thought it was an incredible storyline.

Therefore, this book was yet another great installment in the Junco series. I love it, but when I read these books, I feel so bad for Junco. But then, I think about it, and I figure out that Junco is taking this stuff a zillion times better than I would in her situation. She trusts a lot of people because she wants to believe, and that's more than I know I'd be able to do. The fact that I even think about this stuff should tell you all what a great book and series this is. I definitely recommend it.

And it's all been leading up to this! This is what Junco's been trained for - to extract her six siblings so they can save the avians and to set the prophecy in motion. But this is Junco - and nothing goes according to plan. Flight is another tension-filled, action-packed thrill ride of a read!

Before the Aves can start the mission, Junco must endure a twine with Isten. As a side note - I love that we get to know secondary characters so well and that it's a different one in each book. - Anyway, Junco agrees to the twine and this enables both she and Isten to perform in battle at an even higher level and it links them indelibly.

Once the mission is in play and the team is on Earth again, Junco must, once again, decide who she can and can't trust. She is reunited with her mother and father, and a childhood friend whom she has lost memories of.

Not only does Junco have to deal with or avoid the political machinations of her parents but she has to convince the Six Siblings to come with the team back to The Band. And thereby, trigger the prophecy. All before the nuclear reactor powering the Mountain Republic blows!

However, Junco is faced with some startling revelations during her escape attempt. Some of these revelations have me realizing there is so much more going on here that I realized. Junco does have a destiny to fulfill. And a choice to make.
"Yeah, well, I know for a fact I won't die here, Gideon. I've got a destiny and it isn't to be slashed to pieces by my brother's clones. So, yeah, I'm good with this, let's go."

With each book in this series, Ms. Huss provides us with answers to questions posed in previous books. But she also leaves us with new unanswered ones and Flight is no exception. At the end, I was gasping and saying "Wait. What?!?"

In Flight, I delighted in another tightly written, pulse-pounding story. Junco's world is just as gritty and violent as ever, but Ms. Huss' description of it and the action that occurs is brilliant! I'm ever so pleased to be on this journey with Junco. I find I identify with her wanting to believe in people - even though she has no reason to.

"You're too trusting, for all the shit you've been through, you are way too trusting. Sera was right. You want to believe so bad. But don't. Don't believe anyone."

Another amazing Junco thriller from JA Huss. Never lets me down when I want a gut wrenching, mind bending, life altering read. This book continues from the last one, named Fledge, and follows our heroine Junco as she continues on her journey to find the seven siblings back on earth. Leaving the habitat of Amelia, she and her team along with their leader and her lover Tier return to earth to finish the job they’re supposed to do to save the genetics of the Avian race or destroy it…Junco wishes she knew. So do I. Poor Junco is still in the dark half the time, but in this book, the memories come crashing back in.

There’s no lack of action, suspense, visually stunning scenes and of course, the hunks all around Miss Junco. How she doesn’t lose her mind surrounded by so much testosterone, I think she even wonders that. Heading through a mountainous pass to get to where the Goddess Inanna is and four other siblings of Junco’s ‘clutch’ are. They endure crazed clones, weird experiments and ultimately a fight for survival. It left me exhausted and fearing for Junco at every turn. Warning: there are several key characters killed in this one and it damn near broke my heart! No more please!!!

I loved this one on the emotional sense that we get a lot of flashbacks of Junco’s life growing up. Especially beside a soldier named Gideon. Oh my goodness, I loved Gideon’s scenes. He just melts your heart on how much he cares about Junco. But there is Tier too, who loves her just as much in his own way, but his duty to the missions they have seem to outrank his dedication to Junco.

We do see another side of Lucan, which was somewhat confusing, especially when he turns into something else. Scary!! In the end, I think he’s just another man biding for Junco’s heart and it sure has me undecided on who she should end up with when everything wraps up at the end of this book. Man I have no idea what man I’d choose, though I don’t think Junco has a clue either.

A fantastical continuation of the Junco series that doesn’t let down but pulls the reader further and further into the trap of Junco’s messed up existence enough that you wouldn’t dare miss the next installment. I can’t wait!

I'm ready for the fourth book. Like, now.

I hope you paid attention in the first two books, so maybe you are a little prepared for the hurricane that is Junco's story.

There are so many twists in this story, I was scared to turn the pages. But trust me, every single one of them just make the story even more addicting and add a little piece to the puzzle that has been building since the first word of the first book.

Trust is the biggest theme in the third book, and you will be guessing who Junco should trust the. entire. time.

The stakes are higher than ever before in this book; Huss takes this story from a saga to an epic in a few paragraphs, and it comes down to a choice that Junco has to make, with loss in each option.

The mythology and history is somehow even more impossibly intriguing than in the second book, and the action and violence definitely doesn't let up. Of course, it's Junco, so I didn't expect it to, and despite my previously less violently-slanted tendencies, I gotta say I cheered a few times when Junco exercised her brand of deadly force.

The technology and weaponry is sick, like as in "dude, that is so *sick*!" That is one of the things I really, really like about this series. It contains everything that could interest a very wide range of personalities; love, action, technology, a bit of sci-fi, a bit of history, a bit of mythology, and the things that almost everyone can relate to, like trust, guilt, regret, and hope.

Just go ahead and buy all three at once. You won't want to waste any time in between them. I will be waiting (not so) patiently for book four.

Flight, Book Three of the I AM Just JUNCO series, continues the kickass action associated with the previous novels: Clutch and Fledge.
Again we find Junco in more adventures and entangled in new missions. Junco managed to save Tier's life and also managed to become a team member of the avians. Junco and Tier have had their time together but now she has to return to return to fighting and wiping out threats. The latest of which is securing the rest of the Seven Siblings in an attempt to save the avian race.

Flight has some of the characters that we have seen previously in Fledge such as Ashur, Isten, and Lucan. Lucan more of which helps a lot since there are secrets he's keeping. While J.A. hints at some future romantic tension as a reader don't see it being something would love to see. Lucan js an alright character but he's more of a serious guy and rather Junco and Tier. Tier in my opinion still is and will always remain the guy that feel Junco should be with. There is only one other guy that was finally introduced in this book that think would be perfect and that's Gideon. He's a very capable fighter and so sweet. He apparently also seems to be someone from Junco's past when she was still working for Rural Republic. J. A. had several down memory lane moments between Gideon and Junco that were supposedly dreams of Junco that were what said before were adorable. There is a more human Junco Coot that wish so much to see more of. Gideon is one character that quickly becomes a favorite!
Overall: Amazing read!

Flight
I am just Junco Book Three
By J.A. Huss

Junco and her team must travel to earth in order to save The Siblings of Earth. Along the way Junco finds that everywhere she turns is full of secrets and revelations. What if you had the power to save a race of beings at the cost of the other? Junco may be strong willed but what she faces back on Earth will be a trial even for her.

I love Junco she is a loud mouthed character who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Plus she cusses like a sailor and chain smokes cigars, what’s not to love? What was annoying in this book though was that the men in Junco’s life seemed to turn into whining and needy men, each one vying for Junco’s attention and pouting if she didn’t reciprocate. Other than that the book is pretty good with tons of action and adventure, and so many twists it is hard to keep count. I did have one question, at the end of the book how did they keep everything straight? That’s all I will say or I will run the risk of ruining the book for those who haven’t yet read it. This is one of those books though you definitely want to read the rest of the series before jumping in. From page one this book held my attention I wasn’t a fan of the ending but it is definitely a great way to make sure you keep reading the series.

Aaah! I thought this was a trilogy! This keeps happening to me. So I'm a little disappointed that I have to wait for more but it is what it is. Again this book slightly confusing at parts but all in all a good solid read. I don't know how many books are planned but as long as the story continues working toward an end result I'm fine. I would like to see her end up with tier in the end, I know from other reviews people are fans of Gideon or Lucan. Not me. I think no matter how junco behaves the one thing she was always sure of was her feelings for tier and I'm a sucker for a happy ending. and im not a fan of authors who move on from love and just throw another player into the game to keep it interesting, so we shall see. Since I was expecting this to be the ending I'm not really sure where it goes from here. I read the sample to the next book which left me slightly bummed (wont say for spoiler reasons) but again still looking forward to continuing the series. I think junco is an awesome character and although sometimes she disappoints me, I still root for her to kick ass. I'm very happy I found these books. The mortal instruments series is so highly recommended and I finally broke down and bought the first one before I read flight. Well when it came down to reading number two in the MI series I skipped it and picked up flight instead. Happy I did. Junco left more of an impression on me and I really enjoyed it.
