Frank Randell is an alcoholic, fresh out of rehab, trying to put his life back together in Goodville, Texas. A lawyer in desperate need of a thriving law practice, he rents a room from a woman named Linda—who is herself a recovering alcoholic. The two fall in love and settle into a period of relative bliss only to be interrupted by the arrival of Scooter, Frank’s counselor from rehab, when he pays them a visit…a visit that turns into a permanent stay. While investigating a case that ends up claiming the life of a young priest and family friend, Frank uncovers a vein of corruption in Goodville that extends throughout its entire justice system. Full of unexpected twists and turns, and larger than life characters. Once I started reading I found it hard to put down. After the ending I'm looking forward to a sequel. I need to know what happens next.
