An entire society of mutants lives in plain sight. Every move they make is policed by a civilian organization, OMEGA, that has been trying to hack the mutant genome for decades.
Elizabeth Reid has been haunted by an infamous mutant for three years. Stranded on what was once her family's homestead, she becomes a field test for a gene therapy that turns her into a manufactured Alpha -the strongest category of mutant.
Thrust into the middle of a brewing cold war between the underground society of mutants and OMEGA, she is forced to hide what she is while trying not to be the spark that sets the world ablaze.
Vicious Circle is a science fiction action thriller. If you like cerebral novels with a dynamic cast of narrating characters, and a rich world to explore then you'll love this first installment of the Vicious Circle series.

So I received this book as a Christmas present and didn’t know what to expect. I was told it was about mutants in a modern society.
It is about so much more than that. These characters are so compelling and I love the narrative drive of the book. As someone who grew up loving X-Men, it felt like a comforting step into a remembered territory.
I very much hope that Rochele writes a follow up soon! I need to know what happens to these characters!
(My only personal critique is the typeface format settings, the jumps from single to double to 1.5 were a little jarring sometimes, but beyond that 4.7 out of 5!)

Rosa’s writing makes every scene so vivid without boring you with excess details, i would love to see an onscreen adaptation! I really enjoyed this world and I think there’s so much left to explore. Excited to see what the rest of the series brings.

The beginning is a little slow and I had trouble understanding the characters at first but it picked up and was very good! 😊

Rochele Rosa is the next big thing! Gripping and exciting. A full cast of great characters who all get a say in the story. Please let there be an on-screen adaption someday!
