(This is the Swedish edition which is a derivative version of Jazan Wild's Dandy story. Andreas Carlsson is the writer of derivative Swedish Novel. It was published by Swedish Publisher, Norstedts. It is not the English Version of Dandy, which is written by Jazan Wild.)
Join Dandy's enchanted world, through an amazing story of longing and dreams, greed and betrayal, music and love. Andrew Drake grows up on the beautiful estate of Drake Manor along with his wealthy father, the diplomat. But one day they lose everything. An old foe, Chief King returns, and the father is arrested. Andrew is placed in one of the city's orphanages.
In one tick of the clock young Andrew goes from everything to nothing. What saves him from the misery of existence becomes the music. The music he loves and which he has always had within him.
Jazan Wild is a bestselling author and musician whose Carnival of Souls, Dandy and Funhouse Of Horrors series are international hits that have been downloaded millions of times around the globe, even gracing Entertainment Weekly's Must List!
Despite the thin story, the rambling text and numerous spelling errors I was intrigued by the idea. The book fell flat for me, but Dandy still moved me as a character. I see what the author is trying to accomplish but sadly he didn't reach far enough. It was mildly entertaining.
The version released in the US by Carnival Comics, is so much better than the Swedish version released by Norstedts; something got lost in translation from the graphic novels with that one. The English version expands the story in the graphic novel, but has a more Harry Potter type feel. And Jazan Wild actually wrote the US version. Not sure what went on with the Swedish version, but "inspired by Jazan Wild" is not Wild writing it, I assume.

I think I had a bit too high expectations of this book, since it's Andreas Carlsson who has written it. And I got quite disappointed to say at least. In my opinion his choice of words were shallow and poor. It was a lot of repetitions of sentences. Simply just not my taste in books.
