A routine peacekeeping effort throws Lee into the path of werewolves and their Alpha who happens to be looking for a mate.

Leeahan has spent her time as a badge, acting as peacekeeper, police, counsellor and confidant. Being alone on a shift is nothing new, but having twenty-six werewolves charging toward her town is something she wasn’t planning on.

Facing the werewolves is one thing, her talent for ordering folks around sends more than half of them packing, but dealing with the others puts her life and her body in the hands of the Alpha.

Ozwin was sure that his wolves would tear the badge apart, but he found a woman alone, clawed and bleeding, facing down the next generation of deadly farmers. Her wounds make her his problem, and her transformation into an Alpha makes her his destiny.

Lee the Cop (aka Badge) and Ozwin the big scary Alpha.
She knew it would be a tough night but she really had no idea how eventful!
While keeping some horny wild shifters from wrecking a harvest party, Lee gets infected with the shifter nannites and becomes one herself. Luckily she has Ozwin to help 'guide' her, nudge nudge wink wink ; )
Ozwin likes a woman with strength and Lee sure knows how to kick ass!
I loved both MCs. No insta love, but it is a short read so no time is wasted on misunderstandings etc.
Lots of fun!
So happy to find a new author I like with such an extensive collection.

I enjoyed this story very much! Even though it was short there were a lot of things going on and I kind of thought that it was handled quite nicely. I love Leehan's character as well as Ozwin I really like the chemistry between them. It was like a werewolf pack that I have always read in paranormal story but instead on Earth it is on an alien planet.

Even as a Terran Leehan was quite an alpha and manages the town's security as a badge. As she was on shift by herself a group of teenage werewolves or Keymin as they were called were on their way to her village in search for female, she takes them all by herself. Sending more than half of the group back to their own village, some of the ones who are left were able to scratch her and the nanites that make the Keymin turned to adult werewolves change her. It was very enjoyable to read when the two alphas butt heads!!

Ok, I like werewolves (Sorry Edward, I was never in your "camp") and while these aren't "traditional" werewolves, rather a created race, they are still fun. Short story, but I like this author's short stories. She has a clean, spare way of writing them that is interesting and keeps you from entirely feeling that things are going along too fast. Well, they are, but then, this is a romance short story, so her writing abilities make it easy to suspend your disbelief.
