In presenting his best work from the mid-1990's to the present, we see how popular visual artist Frank Kozik elevates low culture to high art. His work, originating in the Austin, Texas, punk scene, manipulates pop culture and subculture icons in meticulously rendered, eye-catching combinations that are both engaging and controversial.
The first volume in this series focused on Frank Kozik's early work (mostly posters and album covers) from the early nineties. The last volume covers the albums, posters, and commercial illustration that he did in the late nineties. The art in this volume looks more slick than it did in the first book, but that isn't a bad thing, and by no means does it look any less edgy. Karen wouldn't like it, so five stars.
