Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, plump librarian Eva Walkers witnesses a man being murdered by the Russian mafia. Three months later, the Feds put her in the witness protection program. Reborn with new identity as Eva Smith in a new town, she tries to pick up her life where she had left off. Unfortunately, the vory v zakone is able to track her down to finish her. They shoot Eva and dump her body into the river.
Dragon shifter and reclusive billionaire Liam Caderyn is having his midnight stroll when he sees a woman’s body wash out in the stream of his property. He saves her and nurses Eva back to life. Wildly attracted to her, Liam claims that Eva is his wife when she wakes up with amnesia. He figures the lies will keep her with him while he investigates her mysterious past. And besides, he really wants to claim her as his mate.
However, Eva’s past catches up with her and the ruthless vory v zakone gets wind of her whereabouts. They come to settle the score once and for all. But they don’t know Liam. As a businessman, he’s well-rehearsed in power plays. As a dragon, he’s dangerous and protective over what belongs to him.
But what will happen if Eva suddenly remembers her past?
Lizzie Lynn Lee was a guitarist, receptionist, executive assistant, tarot reader, boutique owner, and graphic artist before she discovered that writing is her dream job. The advantage is that she can do it in her pajamas and socks.
She's an incurable chatterbox, heavy metal aficionado, bookworm, digital enthusiast, and a night owl since most of her stories were done in the wee hours of the morning because of her caffeine-induced insomnia.
These days she still plays her guitar whenever she gets bored staring at her computer's screen or plotting the most elaborate scheme of world domination. Fortunately, she has a chronically short attention span.
First thought: Shifters, plump librarians and the mob? Holy shit, sign me up.
After reading this: Wishy-washy story,an okay plot but weird execution with characters and their purpose. The hero is just going randomly bond to some lady in the mud because...*shrug* she almost died?
No.
But the mythology of dragon shifters that the author introduced was a little interesting.
Being a plump librarian myself, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to read a PNR about a librarian and a billionaire dragon;-P
Eva is in a witness protection program because she witnessed a murder by the russian mob. Now they've caught up with her:
When Liam, a reclusive businessman, witnesses a dying woman floating in the river, he decides to save her. Using his powers to restore life, he resuscitates her, but his power comes at a price: It creates a mating bond between him and Eva. However will he explain it to the amnesiac woman who wakes up in his bed?
I found Liam a thoroughly likeable individual, although he didn't come across as particularly alpha. He was kind and generous even though he'd been hurt by women before. However, the whole I'm your husband scheme was unneccessary. My main objection is that the story was too short to flesh out the characters properly. It read more like a draft than the finished product. With a few added details, drama and gradual love between Eva and Liam, this book could have been so much better.
This is about Liam (Dragon) and Eva (in witness protection program). She's in the witness protection program for testifying against the Russian Mob, yet they find her, shoot her and dump her in the water. She washes up on Liam's property. He brings her into his home and saves her life. She wakes with no memory. He tells her they're married, but she finds some photos and diary with clues as to who she is. She follows them and the Russian Mob finds her again. They kidnap her and are about to kill her when Liam finds them. He takes care of them and they really do fall in love.
Short story, could have been better if the story was longer to develop the story and characters more, but likable characters.
A good fun read. This story grips you from the first sentence. Eva is the Witness Protection Programme, but she is now without the protection promised because she has finished testifying against the Russian mob. Due to a stupid mistake because of her medical history she is found. After being shot Eva is dumped in the river and is found by Liam, a dragon shifter and his dog. He realises she is about to die so blood bonds with her to save her life. When she wakes Eva has lost her memory and Liam tells her they are married. I loved going along for the ride with Ava and Liam to their HEA but I was annoyed at Eva not waiting to talk to Liam before taking off. She knows someone tried to kill her but jumps in a taxi and goes off. TSTL moment.
Recluse billionaire saves damsel in distress and bonds her just because she is dying - plausible, but unlikely. The story is good, but too short to make sense, I feel cheated by missing key parts of their story.

This was a cute little read. Although predictable, it was fun and fast paced. The characters were sweet and likable, until they weren't. The last chapter was unnecessary and flipped this short from cute to XXX. Not really my thing but also...not well written.
Liam, a shapeshifter dragon became reclusive after his wife, who was also a dragon shapeshifter, divorced him for his best friend. Finding Eva, a human, close to death near his home brings out his protective nature and he rescues her. When she awakens with anmesia he tells her she's his wife so she won't leave but fears that when she regains her memory she'll leave him and he'll once again return to his solitary long life.
This was tagged as an erotica read about a dragon shapeshifter. It was more of a YA story than anything. And as to the dragon slant - I didn't really feel that persona of dangerous solitary alpha type who claims their one and only female mate for a lifetime. I guess the back story that his supposed dragon wife left him may have contributed to him being a recluse but dragons, in my mind, don't become sad sorry individuals because of that. They would be irritable, grumpy, sarcastic, mean, but not what this guy became.
So, ya, it's a romantic suspense story about a nice guy who deserves a break. He finds a woman that gives him a reason to live and love again.
I'm middle road with this book, I don't love it but I don't hate it. I feel like since the story is so short being only 50 pages it doesnt leave room for much in the way of elaborating but I wish the author would have. Her last book was double the length at about 100pages, this book feels like it needs those extra 50 pages. Not that the story is lacking but it seems a little to summed up not much detail expect of the sexy kind I can appreciate but I feel like this book would really pop if the people were better represented
This is one quick read. The plot is simple but romantic and the way it ended was splendid! It was not to sexy, but there was a suitable way to describe their desire to each other.
I was shocked while i was reading the shooting part. It made me want to kill those man myself.
I like the lore of the book. It was such an interesting concept. But what really made me like the book was the vastness of his property! I was so awed by it! The name of the dog was funny though.
Over all, the simplicity of it made it appealing. Looking forward to read the next book in the series.
Not sure where to start saying what I didn't like about this book. I will try and think of what I did like instead. Liam was not too bad. I liked Rosa. The story gave a little background on each of the characters. I just feel the story could have been so much better and hotter, so it was a struggle to keep reading until the end. I wish I was beta reading it instead of having purchased a published copy...I don't think it was ready yet.
I liked the story and the fact that he was a good person/dragon. But it was a little short and I love it when the couple has sex, but to making love is precious, and when an author or anyone uses the fuck in that way it justs turns me off. I know there are lots of other words to use for that pleasurable act. I did like the book and would read more of this author, but I just needed to say how I feel about the word fuck use in that way.
Great story. I loved the dragon shifter aspect of the story. The great shift that occurred was really realistic and page popping. I also loved the Russian mafia aspect of this story. Some new russuian words that I learned. I love learning new things. The only reason it's not five is that it was too short.
Barely hanging on to life after a murder attempt, Eva is found by the Dragon Liam who makes a decision to save her. Will they make it together? Quick read, suspense, some gruesome details in the beginning and smut.
This books is part of the bundle: Supernatural Billionaire Mates Vol 1
I loved this book! I loved the interaction between Liam + Eva. I loved how protective Liam was of Eva. Even though Eva lost her memory, she sill trusted Liam - a stranger. It shows the power of fated mates.
I'm a sucker for amnesiac heroines who are found by mysterious guys pretending to be their husbands (you'll be amazed at the number of those out there) but this one didn't do it for me.
this was a good book. It was just too short. There was a lot of potential to turn this into a full length novel. I will be looking forward to read more books by this author
