To deal with my mid-life crisis, I also write adventure novels featuring a middle-aged female protagonist, Aydan Kelly. And I kickbox.
This seemed more productive than indulging in more typical mid-life crisis activities like getting a divorce, buying a Harley Crossbones, and cruising across the country picking up men in sleazy bars. Especially since it’s winter most of the months of the year here.
It’s much more comfortable to sit at my computer. And hell, Harleys are expensive. Come to think of it, so are beer and gasoline.
Oh, and I still love my husband. There’s that. I’ll stick with the writing.

Wonderful book

Short Summary of the book:
Aidan Kelly is back in this fourth book in the series to fight for the greater good of her country. Although she would prefer to lead a quiet life in the country, she reluctantly continues her role as spy using a virtual network. During the course of this book she finds out her husband did not die of the heart attack during their love-making as she always thought. Instead, she discovers he was killed with an undetectable poison by the government and escapes their clutches to find the truth behind the deaths of her husband and other family members.
What I liked about the book:
I loved this book as much as I did the first three. Not only does she need to escape the bad guys but also the ones she considered to be the good guys.
What I didn’t like about the book:
There is nothing in the book I didn’t like.
My favourite bits in the book:
Too many to count, I loved the book.
My least favourite bits in the book:
There were no least favourite bits. The book makes you want to read on and not stop after the next.

Rating: 3.5/4 Stars
Better than the last one, more excitement, better plot and more of an emotional response from all parties involved.
I did feel like the ending came too fast and everything was resolved very neatly, very quickly, which just seemed too quick and neat to me.
The relationship between Aydan and Kane is..tricky, I'm not quite sure what I would like to happen there, the standard romance ending (the happily ever after) seems to out of sync with the rest, but maybe a happy ending in their own way, that'd be nice.
Aydan and Arnie are perfect in a way and I love Arnie's cat, but I gotta admit that I like Aydan and Kane better or perhaps Aydan and both?
I also really, really dislike Tom, the cowboy neighbour. He can go shovel horse manure on his farm and stay there. If there is any character that feels like a stalker, it's definitely him.

Gripping. An intense road trip as Aydan tries to escape both the good guys and the bad, assisted by long-time, occasional lover Hellhound and a really sweet trucker. She's her usual brash, impulsive self, while Trucker Dave attacks anyone who's vulgar to her. Sort of cute, considering her mouth. I admire Ms. Henders ability to come up with ways the "good guys" betray her.

Well that Ayden! The things she gets into. Great read, as are the previous books but now I've got some interesting facts on Ayden's background that ties some mysteries together, but, I'm pretty sure there are more surprises ahead. Well done Diane.

This fourth book in the series went a completely different direction, but stayed true to the previous books. There were definitely some great moments and great lines. I cant get enough of these guys. Bring on #5!!

So the government killed you husband or more directly, Kane - who is suppose to be your friend has done the unspeakable. Stemp is not taking the blame for this, eventhough he sent the orders. How will Aydan cope with this.

I checked Tell Me no Spies out from my local library. While another great story and plot, this episode read more like a car chase without as much of the tech/net stuff. Love the progression of Aydan's relationship with Arnie- those two are a laugh a minute.

I can't stop reading this series. This by far is the most intense of the book series. Packed with tons of action, twists and turns and one pain in the assignment neighbor.

I"m in love with this series. Spies, danger around every corner, chemistry between Aydan and Kane (John), weird mind control and lots of suspense are keeping me going.
