Jillan leaves the town of Godsend and his friends in order to fulfill an oath made to the God of Mayhem. Pursued by assassins and spies of the Empire, he goes on a quest to discover a power that might be used to raise the old gods and throw off the cruel Empire of the Saviours.
Meanwhile, the full fury of the Empire descends on Godsend. Many of Jillan’s friends are killed. His beloved Hella is captured and incarcerated in the Great Temple of the Saviours, so that she can be used to blackmail him.
Hello there! I'm mainly preoccupied with the question 'If Darth Vader and Dracula were fighting each other, who would win?' When not pondering said question, I bend my mind to writing gothic fantasy. It keeps me off the streets, but often gets me into trouble.

Hey, I did my best. Oh shut up. It's big in Germany.
Before anyone judges me on the length of time it has taken me to read this it is worth noting that I have had a lot of stuff on. Anyway this review will be short and sweet, starts off really well, gets a bit weird in the middle and finishes by slapping everybody in the face (which is always a good thing).
A book and a half. Traditionally the group 'saving the world' will have a known plan, and known friends but like in the first book you dont know what is the true path and who is really the friend or foe. Lots of internal debates that may not be for every reader, but i enjoyed it.
200 pages in this book is an absolute slog to go through, nothing's happening except characters that parted way for no reason at all trying to reconnect. Which could have saved 200 pages if they had not inexplicably parted ways to begin with!
