Sam and Ginger knew each other all their lives. They grew up together. They still lived next door to each other. So why after thirty-some year were they suddenly sneaking around, trying to have an affair? Both were unattached and the timing seemed perfect, at least in Sam's mind. But Ginger was wary, afraid that when the passion had faded—as she was confident it would--Sam would no longer be her friend. Their friendship was more important to her than a quick fling, which seemed to be all Sam was looking for. Fate chose to side with Ginger, preventing Sam from achieving his goal. Ultimately, no match for Sam's perseverance, Fate finally gave up, stepped aside and declared "have at it" but not without throwing some obstacles in their way. Just when it all seemed to be working so well—that deafening thud they heard was the sound of everything falling apart.

I found this novel on the Kindle Store for free and so I thought that I would give it a try. I thought that this book to be very enjoyable, fun, romantic and well written, the perfect book if you want a quick lighthearted book to read with a happy ending! It was a little bit predictable in places but it still had the odd twist and turn that kept you on your toes. The author had a writing style that was easy to adjust to and made the book flow nicely without having a dull moment which made you want to stop reading it.
A light romantic-sexy reading for a few hours. Carol Schede tells us the story of Ginger and Sam. They've lived next to each other (almost) all their lives when, suddenly, a 32 year-old San decides he wants to sleep with Ginger. And we see this couple not making up their minds on whether they want a relationship or just a fling. In my opinion, the story is entertaining but the characters need a better development. Some conversations look like conversations among teenagers. Like Sam's sister and her husband Leo with the sex comments (are there people like that? really?). And Ginger being so inconsistent making questions that come across too silly or being totally super dramatic near the ending of the book. And even Sam... he was like 3 o 4 people in one character. There were anyhow a few good parts here and there. Like when Sam's sister remember her childhood and Sam and Ginger's.
The story was fine, but the characters could have used a bit more polish. The story itself was quite amusing since neither Sam nor Ginger wanted to be the first to let the other know how much one loved the other. The downside to this story was Ginger's character. I felt that she acted very immaturely for a 34 year old; e.g., throwing items when angry; in other words having a childish temper tantrum.
