Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper.
She grew up losing herself in fantasy worlds, and now creates her own worlds, infusing them with adventure and magic.
When she's not writing, she travels to places that inspire her, having her own adventures, and reads pretty much anything she can get her hands on.
There ~ I got the official biography out of the way. I love to write, and yes, I have been doing it most of my life. I've made up stories in my head for as long as I can remember, and I’m thrilled to be able to bring those stories to life, and share them with you.

I like the book but having read the book that came first, the 0.5 novella, I am more than a little confused. At one point Jane becomes solid. Claire says she didn't know a ghost could do that but of course she did. That is how she met Annie. They helped a ghost that became solid multiple times in that book. Maybe it is just a matter of the author forgetting, since the novella might have been written after the series was complete but it is a tiny detail that rubs the wrong way. I am happy the characters aren't flat, except for the supporting characters but they change every time anyway so no loss. The final battle could have been done better, it was entirely too short and not enough drama or action. Character development should not take away from scene development yet at least in that one scene that is exactly what happens. I like the series and I will continue to read book three but I am hoping that it is better done than this one.
Was exposed to Cate Dean while reading the Paranormal 13 stories. Which included the Prequel to the Claire Wiche Chronicles. It enticed me so much that I began reading the entire series. I really love Claire and Annie as they continue their madcap adventures in Northern California.
You ever finish a book and wonder where the rest of it is. This book is basically non-stop action. Which leaves no time for anyone to have any moments of getting to know the new members of the group. Simon is going to be in the next book and that's great but it would have been cool if we could have gotten a read on his character other than he got shot, and his background and background story. Some moment where you found out he likes eggs, something that wasn't dramatic and created a little levity. I get that a lot happened in this book but I never got to catch my breath and digest. It didn't help that I read the first one about a year ago and had to play catch up.
I enjoyed book one of The Claire Wiche Chronicles and found A Gathering of Angels just as good. I actually read it in one sitting as it was a fast-paced, fun read, with a lot of suspense. I loved getting to know Claire better and the supporting cast was just as well developed - each with a unique voice. Very well written and well-edited. I admire Claire's strength and loyalty to her friends and can't wait for the next book in the series.
This book was the second in a series, more a short story. As in the first, the premise was fine, even interesting. I found the book lacking in both character and plot development. Transitions and relationship developments happened instantly, rather than gradually and the plot tended to be choppy. Both these stories would have been much better as longer, more-developed books.
Again, I am liking this series very much. I am impatient to read the next book; I am having a hard time waiting to find out more about Claire's story. This book was quick, finished in just a couple of hours.
Claire secret is out but is she dead Annie thinks not, Marcus get a call to come to the rescue of someone but who is it, Will Marcus survive the bullet wound and is it Claire he has gone to rescue and what evil lies in the town.
Pretty darn interesting. Nice characterization, well rounded and believable. Really liked the way her characters interact and react with one another. Very satisfing read. Recommended, though not racy.
One of the reasons I like this series is that I really like the characters! I would love to have all of them as friends, even the new ones introduced in this book. Pretty much read it straight through!
Really facinating story! It grabbs from the first scentence and didn't let you move an inch till the end. I didn't even realise when I went through all tree books.
I loved the book. Anne came in as a proper Witch and I felt sorry for Claire. Too loose so much and to go on takes a strong person. I am happy that Eric and Marcus found love.
