Following the path of petals could lead to the path of your future. Griffin Holt arrives in England intent on selling his deceased father's house and returning to America as soon as possible. Griffin is a workaholic, annoyed at this forced change of routine. When he gets lost and can't find the guest house he should be staying in his frustration multiplies. He follows a constant line of blossom trees, hoping to find at least one signpost. Instead, he encounters an odd, bohemian woman twirling in the road and showing no signs of moving. Rain Teslar knows who the man in the car is, the whole town does and they've been waiting for years for him to return. He just doesn't realize it. Rain instantly strikes up a friendship with him, though it isn't reciprocated at first. Each day her carefree nature annoys him a little bit less, and her help with unraveling the secrets of his past has him seeking her comfort. However, if Griffin's new life is to be a fresh start, changes have to be made-changes neither of them are willing to make.

M. A. Stacie is never without a book or her eReader. A voracious reader, with a love of sexy, yet angst ridden novels, she loves getting lost in new worlds. Her need to write did not grip her until after her second son was born, when her previous rambles became fully fledged stories.
She describes herself as one huge contradiction, and though not the most conventional of hobbies, she counts getting new tattoos as one of hers. Along with running, knitting, and listening to loud music. However, she is yet to work out how to do them all at the same time.
M. A. Stacie lives in the UK with her husband and three sons.
How many of us have turned into people we didn't really want to be? Life takes over and dreams are put aside, but maybe it isn't too late to change and to find happiness. I could relate to much in this book from both protagonists.
I love M. A. Stacie's work and this is no exception.
I would like to thank M.A. Stacie for sending me an ACR of this story and I can honeslty say that if I could rate it more than 5 stars I would!
A Path of Petals... A story of two completely different people, coming together and learning that change is not something to be afraid of. That life doesn't need to be all about control and regimented ways. More improtantly thats its ok to lean on someone else for strength and treasure the that person for the rest of your life.
Where to start about Griffin... Well words to describe him upon first 'meeting him'... controlled, arrogant, harsh, stroppy, stick up his ass, abrasive....
He has no time for anything other than setting out his task of cleaning up and selling out his estate that his deceased absentee father has left behind, getting him back on a plane to America as fast as possible. He hasn't been in England since his mother took him away when he was four years old and he can't remember his life there. So he only has his mothers account of what happened and what she continued to tell him about his father. Which was never anything good. He gets lost on his way to the guest house 'The Blossoms' and comes across Rain, with tattoos and a lip piercing dancing Barefoot in a lane of Cherry blossom trees, taking pictures with her camera.
Now, words to describe Rain... Kooky, odd, flighty, free spirited, persistent, loves life, big hearted...
Rain is everything that Griffin hates in his stuck up, rigid life.
Their first scene together is hilarious. He can't seem to get any answers to his questions and all he wants to do is find The Blossoms. Rain confuses the hell out of him. She almost talks in riddles and won't stop taking pictures of him. Which leads to a very pissed off Griffin. I'd like to say that his mood changes after Rain finally brings him the guest house and he gets some much needed sleep. But it doesn't. Rain continues to annoy him, he finds her childlike, doesn't fathom why she won't wear shoes, would marr her body tattoes and piercing and he doesn't want to spend any time at all around her.
As the story continues though, Rain starts to chip away at the sturdy walls that Griffin has around himself, she's so persistant which makes you fall in love with her right from the get-go. He also finds out from people around the small town where he's staying and his fathers house resides. That all is not as his mother told him throughout the years. We also learn that his mother has a lot to do with how he turned out as he is now. She's controlling him and in a way her word is law. Thankfully she's more of a backward character in the book.
Its such a beautiful thing to read about Griffin changing himself and it being mostly down to Rain. She shows him that life doesn't need control, but to just 'be' yourself. Its ok to walk barefoot and kiss in the rain. We see them both mould together and fall in love, even if they aren't willing to admit it to themselves let alone each other.
When something happens though back home in America, Griffin is forced to face the reality that his stay in England will be cut short. And this is when we see a vunerable side to Rain. We see her try to change herself to fit the mould of Griffin's life before she came into it. which I have to point out that this is not what Griffin wants. He would never ever change anything about her...
I won't say anything more in reguards to the plot. Only that this is a must read. Be prepared for times when you want to reach into the book to slap Griffin upside the head and I'll advise to also have tissues on hand. But more to the point I will tell you that this is such a beautiful story. To see the change and growth in one person is an amazing thing. I felt the emotion through every page. Rain is such a fun character and does a world of wonders in making Griffin discover who he really is and wants to be.
M.A. Stacie has pulled another belter of a story and I can only thank her for sharing it with us.
A Path of Petals was an incredible sweet romantic story. I loved Rains' carefree live life to the fullest demeanor. She was such a free spirited person I found myself smiling at all that she was. At the risk of sounding cheesy it made me wish I myself could be more like Rain. Griffin's character was so closed off and cold not to forget an arse but its what made me treasure his character as we got to see him slowly blossom into a warm caring person! I promise this book will pull at all your emotions leaving you with a smile on your face!
I want to thank M.A.Stacie for sending me this ARC to review, I had been waiting for her next release with bated breath and I was excited and giddy to receive it early.
When Griffin Holt returns to his childhood home to clear out his dead fathers house he just wants to be in and out in as short a time as possible. Driving down a country road filled with pink blossom, Griffin has to stop his car because there is a strange woman blocking his path, she is dancing around bare foot in the middle of the road. His first impression of this girl is that ‘surely she must be from the local mental hospital’ she certainly acts a bit quirky! Getting out of the car, his first mistake, he meets Rain and all his plans suddenly go out the window!
Griffin is an uptight American business man, very conservative in his outlook and can’t begin to understand anyone who doesn’t live by the normal nine to five rules and Rain definitely isn’t a nine to fiver!
Rain is one of those free spirits whom I’m sure we all envy. She often gets itchy feet and goes where-ever the urge takes her, never settling in one place for long, but always returning home to Buttermere between adventures. Tattooed and pierced she certainly isn’t Griffins usual ‘fancy’ but there is something very endearing about Rain and he can’t seem to stay away from her.
M.A.Stacie never fails to deliver in the romance department. She has given us two people who would never in a million years be right for each other, and has proved the old adage that opposites attract. I absolutely loved watching Griffin soften and loosen up. He was so stuffy in the beginning it was painful to see but Rain could see deeper into his soul and was determined to bring the real Griffin to the surface.
I got everything I wanted and more in this well written love story, humour, love, lust and angst . There were some very steamy scenes and there were some very touching scenes and overall the result was for me the perfect dreamy read.
Thanks to M.A Stacie for allowing me to read ARC copy of Path of Petals ...
You've heard the sayings 'Opposites attract' and 'Chalk and Cheese'?...
We meet Griffin , a rather 'stuffy'gent ,who wants his business in the UK all done and dusted quickly...his business?..resolving the Estate left to him from his Father. Enter Rain , a flighty, come day go day, type of person ..to throw obstacles in Griffins way .. The obstacles are ,viewing the world in a completely different way ,with Rains help Griffin discovers a whole new childhood he didn't realise he'd missed.
As the pair continue to cross paths , a romance blossoms .. Stacie never fails in the romance stakes ,her characters are varied and always entertaining ,as their love develops ,the heat rises ! Make sure this book is on your TBR list ..just don't leave it there for long ! xx
OMG - spare yourself this one. I'm about 20% in and its awful, the h is 24 tattooed and pierced but she's dancing and twirling around all the time, throwing flowers petals in the air (seriously - WTF?), spacey...total flake. Just don’t' get it since I loved M. A. Stacie's other 2 bks. Breezing through this one wondering if it has anything redeemable. Can't believe someone gave this 5 stars.
The chemistry between these two total opposites was fabulous. Rain and Griffin may have come from different places, but fate brought them together. MA Stacie's characters grabbed me from the beginning and never let me veer off the path.
This is a fast read (even for me) and it's full of funny times as well as sad times.
I liked a lot because you could see the way Griffin started to change and how he was more of himself and not what other people (AKA his mom) wanted him to be.
3.5 stars, rounded down for various spelling and punctuation errors.
A Path of Petals is at its heart a love story between two very different people. Griffin Holt is a 35 yo business man, divorced, rigid and controlled, abrasive and in need of removing the stick up his ass. Rain Teslar is 24, a free spirit, a little kooky, tattoo'd, with a lip ring, dancing through her life and taking nothing too seriously. She embodies everything that Griffin hates.
Upon Griffin's arrival in the sleepy little town of his deceased father, their world collide. Griffin is initially mostly annoyed by Rain (as was I, because that girl apparently has never been taught any personal boundaries), but his annoyance soon gives way as he loosens up his rigid stance on things. As the novel progresses, they develop a friendship that turns into a sweet love story.
I appreciated the growth in Griffin's character, as he starts to be less stuck-up, and learns more about his past, a past that was contorted to the extreme by his mother. Rain manages to bring the little boy in Griffin back to the surface, and she is the catalyst for his change.
The UST was panty-melting, and when they finally gave into their lust for each other, I could hear fireworks. M.A. Stacie can write a great love scene.
The message in this story is that it's never too late to change who you are if you find that who you've become is not who you want to be. And that sometimes all it takes is an odd girl to show you the way.
I am taking off points because of the spelling and grammatical errors. Sometimes words were used incorrectly, and punctuation needs to be revisited. This did not distract me from my reading experience, but any published book should be proof-read multiple times to catch these things. I am not blaming the author in this case, but her publisher.
The writing itself is not overly flowery, yet very emotionally charged, and the plot flows well.
The bits of angst and drama in this story were well-placed and furthered the plot, though I would have liked to smack Rain over the head a few times when she intentionally (or so it seemed) misunderstood something Griffin said to her. And both Anna (Rain's friend) and Griffin say it very well towards the end when they point out that she's been running from people all her life - because that way she can run before they get a chance to leave her.
Two very interesting and opposite characters make for a very nice love story. Well done.
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
A Path of Petals is the first book I have read by M.A. Stacie. I really enjoyed this book. At first I just didn't see how Griffin Holt this stuffy workaholic man was going to mesh with Rain Teslar who is as careful and easy going as Griffin is NOT. Rain is such a sweet character that just kind of pulls you into the book before you know it. I was flying through pages very quickly.
Griffin & Rain start to form a bond almost right away even though Griffin is very hesitant to befriend anyone. He has come to England just to take care of his deceased father's belongs and he is dreading it and the imposition it has made on his life. He starts to learn things might not have been quite the way his mother has always said they were and discover he has missed on a relationship with his father that he can never get back.
Griffin goes through a lot of emotional changes in the book and Rain is right there by his side to help him cope. Rain is sweet and caring even though she puts up a very tough exterior. These two learn that changes happen without them even really knowing they are happening. It was really sweet to watch this relationship form.
This is a must read book. Griffin is an uptight and highly regimented American who comes to UK follwing a death then he meets Rain who is carefree, funny and a free spirit the story follows them on a path of self discovery. Their first meeting is so funny and sets the story well. What happens when she takes him to a farm is laugh out loud. The village of Buttermere is so well done you feel like your there. Other characters are well written and brought into the story well. The most telling thing within the story is how when one parent lies and stops a family relationship it is so moving. I could not put my kindle down and had to finish the story. Well done M.A. Stacie another well told story
I will admit that when I first started reading this I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or connect with the characters.
How wrong I was. I loved this book. The chemistry between Rain and Griffin, although total opposites is electric. Their relationship is so sweet and I definitely connected to them.
This was indeed a sweet (sometimes hot) romance read that I ended up getting totally immersed in.
I loved Rain. She was so flakey and gorgeous, but at the same time she had so much depth. Loved the character development in Griffin and I just adored the ending.
I've loved MA Stacie's previous books and this one didn't disappoint.
Finally hit 50% and I can't go on. The heroine was too "free spirited" and too flighty for me. The hero was kinda an ass and he just started to soften up at this pointless. Their attraction just didnt do anything to me. Plus it was just taking FOR-EVER for them just to kiss. That's all they've done so far. Yea. Putting this one down for now. :(
While I am a fan of M. A. Stacie, I loved her Unwritten Rules; I just couldn’t get into this book. To me, it ran in circles, endlessly re-hashing why the main characters were unsuitable for one another. And then, of course, all issues are resolved and they have their happily ever after. Sorry. I finished this one but did so under duress.
One truly amazing book !!! Completely hooked I think everyone wishes they were rain or at least had a part of her in themselves ! Full of heat and love fantastic just didn't want it to end. Would definitely recommend :)
