Orang bilang, banyak rintangan harus dilalui untuk bisa sampai ke Negeri Smurf. Pegunungan yang terjal, jurang yang dalam, padang pasir yang sangat luas, hutan lebat yang berawa Ditemani oleh Raja, Johan dan Pirlouit punya misi khusus pergi ke Negeri Smurf, yaitu menyelamatkan para smurf yang terancam bahaya.
Pada petualangan kali ini, mereka harus menghadapi makhluk aneh menyeramkan. Para smurf Smurf yang Mensmurf Smurf!

Niin se vaan on, tytöt ja pojat, että Johannes ja Pirkale edustaa uljainta parhautta mitä ranskalaisbelgialaiseen pottunenäilyyn tulee!

Peyon kynäilemässä "Strumffien maassa" (Otava, 1978) Johannes ja Pirkale joutuvat palaamaan aikaisemmista seikkailuista tuttuun Taivaanäärelään, sillä pieniä sinisiä strumffiystäviä uhkaa mikäpä muukaan kuin strumffia strumffaava strumffi.

Minä jaksan viehättyä näistä tarinoista kerta toisensa jälkeen. Vuonna 1961 alun perin ilmestynyt tarina on humoristinen ja hyvin piirretty seikkailusarjakuva koko perheelle!

Tegen de tijd dat dit album uitkwam, waren de smurfen al een eigen succesvolle carrière gestart die die van Johan en Pirrewiet zou overvleugelen. In hun laatste twee albums zouden de murfen dan ook een rol spelen. 'Het onzalige land' is bijna een parodie op de reeks: avonturiers Johan en Pirrewiet worden zeer gehinderd doordat hun koning mee op reis wil naar het verre land der smurfen. Daar verslaan ze een nogal Joods uitziende schurk en zijn 'smurf die smurf smurft'. 'Het onzalige land' is eerder grappig dan een klassiek avonturenverhaal, niet alleen Johan en de koning, maar ook tovenaar Omnibus wordt nogal belachelijk gemaakt. Fantastisch is de scene waarin de tovenaar en de koning kwaaltjes uitwisselen.

Cerita diawali dengan perasaan bosan sang raja yang merasa sudah dipenuhi segala keinginannya. Dengan munculnya seekor smurf merubah semuanya, membuat sang raja menyadari beratnya kehidupan diluar istananya.

The art is skilled and effective but unspectacular, has something of an assembly line quality to it and doesn’t go for anything extra. (Percevan is much better — in technique, imagination, expression, detail)

The plot is more childish than other famous BD like asterix, lucky Luke, spirou. This is probably for preschoolers. Very slow, very predictable, it really drags at 60 pages as there’s not much here.

The book opens with a bored and depressed king. This goes on for 10 pages. Then a Smurf shows up and shakes the king from his funk. The Smurf village has been destroyed and the Smurfs are in great danger, though we don’t know from what (because of the Smurf language).

Johan, Peewit, the Smurf, and the king then embark on a decidedly unepic journey to reach the cursed land of the Smurfs. It’s the height of tedium as they traverse forest, swamp, desert, and mountains, the main obstacle being the whiny, stupid king. No creatures or sentient adversaries oppose them. (20 pages)

When they finally arrive at Smurfville, the identity of the Smurf that Smurfs Smurfs is revealed and it’s as uninspired as possible — a dragon that breathes fire. Yawn. After some more lame hijinks, they use a magic staff to put out the beast’s fire. (25 pages) This was a gift from the magician Homnibus at the beginning of act 2. One of the few amusing things in the book is Peewit constantly creating water spouts with the stick, including in a smart closing panel where he has flooded the throne room.

Uhm, pensavo che questa serie pubblicasse tutti i volumi dei Puffi, non che saltabeccasse tra la serie dei Puffi e quella di John e Solfamì...

Checché ne dica l'editoriale alla fine, ho l'impressione che i Puffi qui siano sempre personaggi secondari. Gli eroi son John e Solfamì, con il re dietro che si lamenta ad ogni piè sospinto. E i riferimenti che si trovano all'interno della storia si riferiscono, ovviamente, alle storie del paggio e del suo amico.

Ambientazione fantastica, con un deserti, paludi e cime innevate da attraversare. E c'è anche un drago.

Vediamo il prossimo numero dove ci porta.

C'est l'album Les Schtroumpfs et le dragon du lac qui m'a menée à cette aventure de Johan et Pirlouit, et je suis ravie d'avoir découvert la jeunesse de Fafnir.

L'histoire est amusante et somme toute très classique, mais j'ai passé un bon moment, en bonne partie grâce à la mésentente entre Pirlouit et le roi.

The King feel sad, bored and depressed. It's up to Johan and Pirlouit to change His Majesty's mood. They tried doing everything, to no avail. Until a group of small circus showed up at the palace, and they have a Smurf locked up in a very small cage. From this Smurf, Johan and Pirlouit found out that the Smurf Village has been destroyed by "a smurf that smurf smurf". Knowing this distress situation, Johan and Pirlouit decided to help the Smurfs, with the help of the King.

Petit changement dans le train train des aventures de nos héros puisque cette fois ils sont accompagnés par le roi en personne !

Nouvelle apparition des Schtroumpfs et combat face à un dragon sont au menu de cette exploration du pays maudit.
