This is the second volume in a spin-off from QuinRose's Alice in the Country of Hearts/Clover/Joker series. While this series can be read as a stand alone, I would recommend reading the original series of Alice in the Country of Hearts first since that gives readers a much more in-depth look at the world and series.
My Fanatic Rabbit takes the original Hearts story on a different path, leading to a different pairing (that of Alice and Elliot, the March Hare). In the final volume we see Elliot and Alice's relationship begin to mature as each are coming to terms with their feelings for one another. What makes this particular volume stand out over its first volume is the history between Elliot and Julius, the Clockmaker. Up until now we hadn't really had any real turmoil with Elliot, other than his rather unattractive jealous streak (which is probably my biggest problem with this series) but, with Alice's friendship with Julius, we see a different side of Elliot, one that is a lot more personal and not him simply following the Hatter's orders.
Now what really bothered me about this series as a whole was (as I mentioned earlier) Elliot's rather unbecoming jealous streak. To me, it felt overly dramatic and very out of character for him. It also bothered me just how much Alice puts up with it, sure she eventually gets sick of the 'song and dance', but it felt way too late by then, and to make matters worse, she quickly backtracks and feels she was out of line, when it was clearly Elliot.
This volume ends with Alice having to make her choice of staying in Wonderland or going home, and again, I felt the book failed in that. Elliot's behaviour seems so out of place and ridiculous that their relationship is bound to be an unhealthy one. I see that it was trying to come off as romantic, but to me it came off as manipulative and controlling. That being said, I did enjoy the series and I did like the pairing, I just wish it had been done better.
