It is just as important to learn how to receive a blessing as it is to be willing to give one. So teaches John Osteen in this eye-opening book. Growing up during The Great Depression, John's mentality was shaped by frugality that seeped even into his spiritual life. When God tried to bless and increase his life, he struggled with receiving the abundance of God. But the Bible shows us example after example of those whom God blesses after they lose everything.
God wants to shower us with
Using practical application and divine verification from the Bible, John Osteen shows readers how to embrace the abundance of God in every aspect of their lives.

This book was such a blessing! Exactly what I needed at this moment in time. So comforting to know that the only thing that can limit God is my mind.
This book challenged me to take a very honest look at what I've been calling Faith. It helped me see the areas in myself and my circumstances that I've yet to surrender fully to God.
Life's challenges can weigh heavy on us, but if we're not careful we find ourselves fighting a battle that was never ours to begin with.
"Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's.... You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem." - 2 Chronicles 20:15,17
This book was my reminder of how beautiful life is intended to be when you're connected to your Lifeline.
I was hesitant to enter the giveaway for this book because I really don't like Joel Osteen's work. I decided not to let my opinion of Joel's work rub off on my opinion of his father's writing and went for it. Frankly, I could hardly read the commentary and reflections written by Joel - docking a star from my rating. John's writing is not bad, and I would not compare his book to Joel's. With that said though, I still felt unsatisfied after reading the book. Living in the Abundance of God seems more like "milk" rather than "solid food". I think it would be a great book for new Christians who are wanting some guidance on what the Bible says about living under God's grace, but not for long-time Christians who are wanting to be challenged.
Remember: Patience is what it takes to provide what God gives you. Remember: Life can become routine. Life can become stagnate. Keep Holy Spirit Alive inside you. Make it new.
It can be hard to not let others words to get to you. But those are the people that don't know they are hurting others.
Just change you. Not even your spouse. Or children. Each individual is responsible for heir own change. As a mother this has become hard for me. I won't so hard to protect at all costs.
Read this book. Renew yourself. Listen to a recording of this book. Refresh yourself for you Life.
The book was phenomenal. John Osteen wrote an excellent book that will truly inspire and nourish the readers that hunger for God. It answered a great deal of questions that I had concerning the intangible.
