Teacher/student books... I love them! Just like in Honor and Obey, this starts with the proposal and ends with accident. For me, reading from the male pov is so much better than the females, especially with a male like William. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about William Honor, but I love this guy! He is not all good. He is damaged and a bit crazy at times. Trying to hide things about himself to protect Emma, that’s where he’s at. He can’t lose her. She is the only person he has truly loved. He’s afraid. What will happen if she finds out all of his secrets?
Sooner or later, this perfect world I had created would crumble and would expose me for the monster I truly was. What would become of her love for me then?

Emma loves William. William loves Emma, as much as he is capable. Their love is real, but William is a bit obsessed with Emma. He can’t lose her. He will do whatever he has to do to keep her, protect her. Even if it means keeping things from her. She is his.

There are two sides to every story.

I love this series and I really enjoyed this book. Honor and Betray is esentially Honor and Obey from William’s pov. I knew that going in. The only thing that disappointed me was that I was hoping to get more of my questions answered and a little more insight into William’s head. I think it’s an interesting concept to alternate the same story with different pov’s. If we got a little more from William’s pov and didn’t have to wait so long for the books to be released, that would be perfect! I had a few theories which were wrong.

A short read, you could read it in one sitting. I wish more of my questions were answered, and more would have been added to the story. I wish we would have gotten a little more of the William I know and love. He’s changed a bit in this book. I have high hopes for the next two books, hopefully they won’t disappoint! And please, for the love of god... I hope we don’t have to wait that long for book 5!

Soo.. The only answer I got from this book about J's death was the responsible of it. At the end it left me wondering the same as the one before this one...Did he remembered? Sometimes it looked as if he did and other like he didn't. After the accident we only see Stephen at the end. Does it mean he has selective memory and he doesn't remember the women in his life but only his friend and family?

"...Stephen stepped closer to us, stack of papers in hands. He smiled at me knowingly, and I smirked." - WTF!

I love books with different POV's but I practically read the same story but with a bit of lies and murder tendencies from William's side. Not that I don't like it but this series could have been made in 3 books with both POV's in each one. Now we'll have to wait a year or so again to see what happens next and how William will get away with all his crimes and lies and not losing Emma in the process.

For me William Honor is one of the most intriguing male characters I have ever read. You never know how is he going to do. He acts so sweet and loving from Emma´s POV and when I read his, he goes all : "i´m a sociopath willing to kill anything threatening to keep me away from Emma". WTF *Sigh* I love this sociopath

**************************************************************
"I love you, Emma Honor. Now you are mine forever. " WTF of course he remembers.!!! And I don´t care if he´s a sociopath I love him. It kind of reminds me of Dexter.. I can´t wait to see his POV.

Please Miss Mummert.!!! Release this one early?!!! I´ve been waiting for it since October.!! :(

Finally one more month! I can´t wait for it to be released!!!!! agrrrrr.!!!!

This series is amazing. I can't help but think that William's memory came back and he is just conning Emma into staying with him by pretending his memory is still gone. I think there is more to him that will shake Emma to her core. I think William is a psychopath or sociopath. Cannot wait until August.

Update 2/10/03
Just finished the book and WTF is this. We got nothing. ..Absolutely Nothing. ..I waited fot this book forever and we got no answers what so ever. This is Honor&Obay story told from Williams pov. It was nothing new at all, the same fucking story. Waited for nothing really. Thanx a lot Teresa

Update 2/10/03

If you are gonna write a story so short that has already been told before, why this freaking waiting forever for it to be released game? Daaamn I can't get over this shit
//

//He's a killer. I would not be surprised if he killed her aunt and that is the betrayal. And he probably has or will get his memory back and won't tell her...

First: Sorry, I'm not sorry.

Second: I have added a new shelf just for this book: "attempted suspense."

Anyway, not to bore you with the particulars, but this book is a huge mess. The writing, the grammar, the spelling... the text is riddled with clichés, subject/verb issues, plot inconsistencies.

SPOILER ALERT.

Moving on... the whole book is full of sentences like:

"He body grew rigid."

Did your editor take one too many quaaludes before looking at your book? In one section, they are making and "arrangements" is spelled "arraignments." That's a different thing, y'all.

I know I've been on a bad-review-rampage lately, but this is the same as buying a sweater at the store and having it unravel while you are wearing it. I bought a book. Not a rough draft. Not notes. A book. Where is this book? It *should* be in the hands of a good editor, but instead it's on Amazon for $2.99 waiting for morons like me to buy it.

PR: I have my doubts for William. I doubted all his actions in the third book and I want to see if he is honest or toying with us.

AR: William is a confusing and I wanted to kick him. I learnt how not to trust him and now I can't believe that he is not faking everything despite what his point of view might say. I still think that he is faking... The after accident William seems a better person than the one before.

I can't say that the book was worth the wait. William's obsession with Emma became clearer and some details about some major stuff came up. Than a man has his fingers in every pie...

One last thing. I am hoping the 5th book will be better and I am worried about what might happen if Will finds his memory back.

I am seriously struggling with William! It had been such a long time since I first started this series, that I had to reach way back into the recesses of my mind to recapture William and Emma's story.

This is the retelling of a segment of the story from William's POV. And lets just start of by saying William is not a good guy. My only struggle with this one was that I found it hard to be forgiving of him at all. When able to see him through Emma's eyes only - there was hope. But after seeing the darkness in him during the first installment in his POV I struggle to find anything redeeming about him.

The timeline takes place from the proposal to the period after the accident when Emma leaves and William goes back for her. I anticipated some direct answers to some lingering questions but found that I was left with a lot more questions. But that just means that I will have to hold out until the next book. I am secretly hoping that something can take place to shift my opinion on William, because I seriously need it.

As I expected, we get to see what happened with Emma's aunt and the memory loss after the accident, but we didn't get too large of a picture of just what is going on in William's sick and twisted head. I adore everything that Teresa Mummert writes, but this hit just between a 3/4 star for me this go round. I really think it has more to do with me just wanting to not like William at all. I am not used to falling hard for the guy, even if you aren't meant to.

The one redeeming quality I could find in him was that it appears that in his own twisted and sick way he does love Emma. Maybe the next book will give us a bit more insight into his demons and somehow he can find redemption.

So I understand the author's concept now. At the end of book two told from his POV, I thought he was a sociopath and I think he still is. Then when book three was only told from her POV, I was left with all these questions on what was real or not, was he faking, was he the murderer, I didn't know what to think. Now we have book four...the answers to my questions were answered. Now I understand this delivery was meant for this effect, however that doesn't mean I have to like it. His POV books repeat too much of the story already told. There isn't enough material to justify a separate book. That is my problem with this series!!!!!

I am really disappointed in this book. Well...I’m pretty sure disappointed would be a huge understatement to how I really feel. I mean, I’ve anxiously waited almost an entire year for this book and I was expecting to get a different feel for the story though William’s character and finally get my questions answered, but that didn’t happen. Unlike the other books in this series, this book is just like Honor and Obey with the only difference being that William is narrating and not Emma. Otherwise, it’s the same book! There was NOTHING new whatsoever. I love Mrs. Mummert’s writing, but this is so not her best work. I felt like the story was a conversational retelling of events that we already knew about. It was like a long list of William’s thoughts, feelings, and day to day activities. To add insult to injury the laundry list of feelings, activities, and thoughts were repetitive. I don’t know what is up with this. I’m starting to wonder if the author is writing so much that she’s starting to neglect this series or something. I’m hoping against all hope that this book is just some sort of fluke or something. I know she’s a wonderful writer, so it has to be.

I also HATE what has been done to William’s character. I mean, he’s always been a nut job, but this book painted him as some desperate wacko who keeps trying to convince himself that he’s in love and that Emma’s worth it. William’s character used to have so much dominance, purpose, and...power, but now, he’s just desperate and a little pathetic. Emma’s character is also suffering. I mean, she’s always been portrayed as submissive, but still a very strong woman, but in this book...she’s painted as a much weaker woman. It’s sad really.

I really hate to leave such a negative review without any mention of a high point, but I didn’t feel like there was one with this book. I still love the series and will patiently wait for the next installment.

3.5 Stars!!!

You need to know that this series switches at each installment from the POV of the heroine to the hero. Each two books are exactly the same story and covers the same time frame.

I loved the difference in the writing style, attention to details in the first two books. And like that childhood game of yanking off flowers and pronouncing, "He loves me...he loves me not...." I fell into the "I hate him, I hate him not" groove after the first three installments.

After reading book 3 Honor and Obey (Honor, #3) by Teresa Mummert I really thought the author would shock us with a different incite to the story. Book Three for me had ramped it up. But with so many months between 100 page installments I have forgotten much of what happened in previous books and did not enjoy this as much. I really should have waited until the entire series was out. (There are two more books/novelettes.)

The thing is, this guy is either the world's biggest monster....or a bad boy who is desperately trying to make is life right and do the right thing. That is what is so exciting about this series....you think you know who he is and what is going on and then you don't. I feel like I am on a roller coaster and always about to go into a dark tunnel and suddenly finding me upside down and then righted again.

I think I expected more from this book and that not much was revealed that we didn't already know. I really thought after book three that we would find out that Williams memory came back and he was not telling her and it was all an act. Now I am not sure what to believe. He seemed so changed when waking from a coma without the hindrances of his past baggage to weigh him down but in this installment, I find he is essentially the same person in a slightly cleaner, straighter package.

My question is what happens when he regains his memory completely? Will his past catch up to him and ruin his life? Or will he be truly redeemed and worthy of our(the reader's) forgiveness and acceptance and God knows this heroine is not the strongest minded bird in the nest. I am intrigued enough to continue and like a car crash I pass by in my car on the highway, I can't seem to turn away. So, I patiently will await the fourth installment to reveal itself!!!

4.5 stars for Honor and Betray.
I have been waiting a year for this book! And it was worth it, I just pray we don't have to wait that long for the next. We get to see the story from William's POV. I always love a males POV more, we get to learn things we don't get to in the females POV. And William's POV is probably the one I've wanted to read most. I had soo many questions!!! And they were answered. I'm glad he wasn't as bad as thought he was going to be this book, I am very thankful for that. I loved how we got to look deep into his twisted soul, we got to see and feel how he felt for Emma and all these events that take place within their relationship. It was hard seeing him actually not remembering anything, of course we all thought he was faking. So this was even harder, I felt so bad for him. I really hope he can maybe have a new start and PRAY everything works out for them. I have a feeling everything won't go as smoothly as we think next book. So I am going to eagerly await the next instalment of this amazing series. I love Teresa and her books, but this series was the first I read and it holds a spot in my heart. I love William and cannot wait for more! Must read ladies and gents!

Some quotes I loved:
" I love you, Emma. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you."

"No one before you matters."

"Emma, you are the only person who means anything to me."

"Whatever you want from me, I will give it to you. Just please don't leave me."

"Emma. I don't know what happened between us, and I don't care. My heart races out of control every time you come near me. I'm terrified that you will walk out of that door and it will stop. I can't live without you. I don't care if I never remember my life. I want to start a new one... With you."

"I love you Emma Honor. Now you are mine forever."

Williams POV… Book #4 in the Honor Series ** 3.8 Stars **

Honor and Betray essentially tells the same story as book # 3 does (Honor and Obey) but in Williams point of view instead of Emma’s. Readers get a bit of information out of this book however it almost perfectly matches that of book #3 which is why I give it a high 3 stars. Some readers love reading the same story written in to different point of views but for me, it’s not enough. I feel like the writer just deleted a few select passages in order to incorporate the thoughts of the other person and all of the other written words are the exact.same.thing . This slightly annoys me.

I was pleased to get more information on the murder of Emma’s aunt Judy though, and I was happy to see how William was a part of the lies being told and his feelings of Emma. But again, the story was the same exact thing with a slight change that incorporated William’s thoughts and feelings. Did I enjoy the book? Yes, I did. But I felt like it could have been a little better. What also bothered me about this book and the previous one is that it doesn’t really incorporate the student/teacher relationship that us readers craved for this book. In fact, it had almost nothing do with it besides a small mention of it towards the end. All in all though I like the series and couldn’t find much else that I needed from it as a reader.

Overall Rating: 3.8

Would I Recommend: I would recommend the series. Note this one COULD be avoided if you don’t need to have a deeper look into William’s thoughts because it is the exact same story as book #3.

Would I read again Not this book :o(

OMG!! Teresa Mummert has ROCKED IT with "Honor and Betray"!!! 5 Emotion Filled Stars!!!

The Honor Series is an amazing journey with William & Emma. They say there are two sides to every story and with "Honor and Betray" we get to see William's side. We get answers to questions & learn of dark secrets that have the potential to destroy everything William holds dear. Everything that matters to him & everything equals Emma & his relationship with her.

William has always been in control. He's always needed that element in his life. But what happens when he realizes he no longer holds that control? That his love for Emma has transferred the control he needs to her? Does he spiral out of control? Does he embrace it?

When their world tips on its axis and tragedy strikes, the fallout is immense. We saw how this effected Emma in "Honor & Obey", but to see what William went through, to experience & feel it, was one of my favorite things about this book.

His perspective is enlightening and his dark secrets are enough to spark an anxiety and fear for their happiness in your mind so intense that even if you've read Emma's point of view, you find yourself on the edge worrying about if they'll get their HEA or not.

William and Emma's love is true and strong and the journey that Teresa Mummert takes you on into his mind is nothing short of perfect.

I absolutely loved getting tied up in William's mind!!! <3 LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

Since this book is going to be from Williams POV , i think the betrayal is when he gets his memory back and realizes Emma was taking advantage of Him while his memory was gone. And being something she's not. That's why on the cover, he's tied up with his head bowed.

As much as I loved William's POV in book 2, I don't need another retelling of the same story in a different POV. It was great once, but I'd rather not go through that again. Can you please just give me the plot leaving off of book 3 (especially since I've been thinking these past months that I'd get a book continuing the plot)?

I didn't understand why this book took so long to come out.(but moving on). I was surprise by William not remembering his past with Emma. I was sure he remembered and was playing games to win here back. I love this story but I hated waiting this long to read it especially since it was telling the same story but in Williams POV.

So, after finishing this one. It's nice to know he was remembering the whole time. So many loose ends to tie up in the next book. Please! Don't separate them again... Reading the exact same story from two different points is a little old. And if you're finishing a series, I'd prefer to not have to read it again knowing the ending already.

I have waited so long for this book that I had to read the series to get caught up with all the circumstances. I love that the books alternate from different POV's and I couldn't wait for William's POV to see what happened and what his hand was in the aunt and what happened after the accident.

For William he is so tortured and broken and Emma is the only thing that brings light and happiness into his life. Is it love, lust or obsession for him. Who knows but for him he would do ANYTHING to keep Emma no matter the consequences, which could be considered borderline unhealthy.

But for Emma she has no one else and she needs Willliam just as much as he needs her. With his memory loss I'm not sure how it will all pan out for the worse or the better for them but even though he has not remembered everything the one thing he does know is that he needs and loves Emma and doesn't want to ever lose her.

It is great to see the same story from a different perspective but I felt like I wanted more than just his POV this time. However, I am fully committed to this series and can't wait to find out what will happen with Emma and William. Fingers crossed that the length between releases is not as long as it was between book 3 & 4.

I will say that I once again liked William's version better, I really did not like the memory loss storyline when reading Honor and Obey, I liked it more in this version but still didn't love it. I gave this one 5 stars because I did love how Teresa had William handle himself during this time, I didn't love how Emma was in the last book but I fell in love with William all over again in this book. I could not believe that Allison kept calling him even after he told her to leave him alone, she is just trying to cause trouble. I do believe that he did not remember anything at first and slowly some things came back but most of the memories came back once he realized that he had a break when he had hurt Emma. Yes he shared with her that he remembered the accident but he still didn't share with her that he remembers more then that. I loved reading him having to fight his Dom side when Emma kept taking charge, when she would not let him drive, when she repeated his same words back to him in the bedroom, and when she took over the sex in the bed. I loved reading his thoughts especially the one time when she bit him and he fought pushing her head clear down on him, too funny. I think I liked this version better because Emma's version was so depressing, I hated how a big chunk of it was devoted to her drinking, sleeping, and reading. I enjoyed reading about William's feelings for Emma and I did not like how his friend did not believe he could love someone and that he thought Emma was just infatuated with William and she didn't really love him either, I wanted to smack him. I think that is one of the reasons William gives Stephen the look at the end of the book. Now I am excited to see what happens in the next book, when is it coming out????

I hate the character of honor so much. His lies and deception are beyond belief! How Emma hasn't found out about all of it is shocking. I feel disturbed at how dark he is but the strange thing is when Honor loses his memory I actually start to like him. I don't want too after everything in his past but something becomes likeable. However that's not him his memories will come back to him and he'll still be the same heartless man, Emma was stupid for marrying him. She should be running. I really hope in the end she is strong and he is out of her life because I can't stand reading about the deaths, obsession, lies and not have something come out of it all.

Will be out 10-1-13. WOOOOO!

I was hoping there would be a little more to this book to give us insight but… nothing. I didn't get the "ohhh" factor like the last book from Williams POV. I read that she has 2 more books planned for this series but there was nothing to keep me on my toes anxiously waiting for the next installment - which will probably be in another year. While I loved this series I think too much time has passed in between the books to really keep me from fangirling the crap out of it.

When i first read the series i loved it. But, when this book came out i was seriously disappointed.
It took me forever to finish reading it. I just could not get into the book. Half the time i wanted to throw my kindle across the room.

William knew he didn't deserve Emma. I mean he said it and thought it damn near 24/7... It got old quick. And he was an asshole and crazy.

I would normally love these kind of books but i just was not interested.

I love/hate this series, I personally don't think we need the different point of view, same story thing that's happening, why can't it be just in one book? then we might be somewhere in the story! like this is book 4, but it could be book 2! since book 2 was Will 's POV of the 1st book and this book was will's POV of the 3rd book!
just feels like a waste of time! I gotta wait a year to read pretty much the same story! and then I'm still left with the " where is this story going!" question. maybe I will just start reading every other book!

ANNOYED would be a great way to sum up how I feel about this fourth book that we had to wait so long for its release. I reread the previous three books to brush up on my William Honor knowledge and I had to double check that I was indeed reading the fourth book as it was EXACTLY like book 3. Nothing new or telling has come about in this book and I only read up to 75% of it. Based on other reviews, I am not missing out on anything if I were to finish it. Not sure I will continue with this series :(
