Unbound picks up immediately where Threads That Bind left off. Having failed to bind Osadyn, the Berserkers must deal with the aftermath of Kara’s decision. Madison and Rhys are left behind to continue her training while the other Berserkers attempt to hunt down the remaining unbound Havoc.

Madison soon discovers her powers are even stranger than she had previously thought and that someone close to the Berserkers wants her dead. Seeking some sense of normalcy, Madison tries to blend back in at school with less-than-successful results and her attempts at a romantic relationship lead to consequences far worse than anyone could have imagined.

The Berserkers' world will be changed forever.

Wow. Way to ruin the best character and then drag him through the mud. Eric was the only thing I liked about this series and the author decided to absolutely destroy everything about him then cast him aside forgotten.

Also the main chick is a shitty friend, seriously. She's shitty to Eric then shitty to Amy, not to mention just down right annoying. The main guy is about as interesting as wet cardboard, I really don't see the appeal.
And everyone is dying, it's ridiculous! It's like the author just can't be bothered to do any side plots and was like "fuck it, I'll just kill them all."

And while all these people are dying, the main chick is worried about her stupid play, or prom, or whether soggy cardboard boy likes her when it's fucking obvious they're just SOOOO in 'wuv'. I want to throat punch them.

Ugh, this was just a disaster of a book. Don't waste your time. I officially give up on this series with one book left, and I am not a series quitter. So congrats crappy book, at least you managed to succeed in something.

3.5 stars. Like the first book, I liked this. It kept my interest, but I wasn't overly involved. Even when big events happened, it just didn't really affect me. I do think I'll stick with the story and finish the series. I borrowed this as my Kindle Prime library book for August, so I'll likely grab the 3rd book come September.

Unbound picks up right where Threads That Bind left off, and I was hooked from the first page! Madison and Rhys continue her training while the other Berserkers hunt down the remaining unbound Havoc. Her powers grow stranger, danger lurks close to home, and attempts at normal teen life go hilariously—and sometimes dangerously—wrong.

I read this book in a single day! Fast-paced, thrilling, and full of twists, it kept me completely engaged and eager for the next installment.

Again, there were typos and grammatical errors that were quite annoying.

I read the first book in this YA paranormal series as a free ebook, and it was very good, so I'm bought this ebook, too. It too was worth it. There were the expected high school superhero issues (mostly revolving around the school play and prom), and some time for a blossoming romance, but then it took a dark twist I was not expecting at all. By the end, 4 characters I thought were in it for the long haul died. I'm not sure I liked that twist, but I get that it makes the rest of the story more interesting.

SPOILERS:

I did not expect Eric of all people to go feral and die in the 2nd book. I thought he would continue to be a temptation for books to come. I also hated that almost ALL of the people Madison met in book one (and has grown to care about) die. At least the relationship with Rhys takes off, and Madison discovers what her real purpose is as the first binder/berserker hybrid.

I LOVE this series to death!!! I don't know how else I can express my unending desire to keep reading about Madison and the other Berserkers! This was a fabulous premise for a book series and I'm so happy to have stumbled upon it. I finished this book in the course of one day-putting aside all other responsibilities to keep up with the action. So much happened in this installment that my emotions were all over the place! One second I'm grinning like a fool and the next I'm sniffing back tears!! The author has an excellent grasp of YA problems and concerns but doesn't make his writing juvenile and "teenagy". He also doesn't have his characters going beyond normal YA boundaries (no sex people!). I cannot WAIT for the next one! Awesome!!!

Again I am amazed at how well this man (the author) can channel the mind and soul of a teenage girl! Kudos! I loved this book. Even more than the first if that's even possible. It had so much more than the first book. I was worried that it was going to be another 'OMG I have two guys that like me and I just can't decide! FML!" kind of books. (and no, I never use those acronyms so you can get what I was afraid of) But it wasn't! At one point I was like, 'Holy crap! What's this wet stuff on my face?....Tears?', yes it was that good! Love the book, can't wait to read the third. And just really, really love the author and can't wait to read more of his work! J.Turner

When I finished the book I wasn't sure if it was a 3 star or a 4 star. I took a day and let it sit, in the end it felt like a 3 star.

I like the strong female lead. I like the plot. I like the other Berzerkers, but something needs more. In this kind of book background information is a must.

Shit just got real ! OMG the first book was like the most amazing thing I read since Good intentions of Elliott Kay and got the baddest cliffhanger, But Unbound is a game changer, Madison get chewed and spitted on the ground but she rebound (pun intended) and get on her feet even though life throw at her some sucker punches. I hope it get even gooder in the next good.

I had high hopes after thoroughly enjoying the first book in this series but this one exceeded my expectations. The plot really took off and kept me guessing and I found myself caring about these characters. It has an exciting climax and a generous helping of emotional drama. Book three can't come soon enough.

This book is one of the best I have read in a while. Although I know feel completely depressed and want to go live in a hole for a while so that I won't have to talk to anyone. I am very much afraid that the next book will be even more depressing, though I do look forward to it.

I really Enjoyed this book a lot. I think I liked the first one a little bit more just because I found Madison kind of dumb. I just wished she didn't try and keep all of those secrets. It just made everything ten times worst. And a lot of people died this book. I mean it was really sad. But it was exciting none the less. I can't wait for book 2!

This book spends more time exploring the history of Binders and Berzerkers, allowing the reader to understand why Madison's unusual powers are so upsetting for this tight-knit community of monster slayers. We start to see the Havocs as more than two dimensional. The finale sets up book three by changing all established rules.

Great read! It picks where the previous books ends and was such an enjoyable, smooth read. The action is great and the plot never drags. One also really invests in the characters and all of their plights. As a reader you really care what happens. So many questions are answered while so many other things are revealed. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

I have never read a book (that I can think if at the moment) that had so many of the characters that you have grown to love die. The story continues to grab a readers attention and leaves you wanting more. Can not wait to read what happens next.

The storyline is so different. Things that bother me: the timeline is hurried (oh! Suddenly it's prom). Madison seems to be too perfect and therefore as a narrator feels unreliable. And she feels somehow off. Ugh. I can't believe it but I'm excited for the third.

I loved this one as much as the first. Great YA that kept me spellbound the entire time. I love the main character, her personality and her quirks. I will definitely read everything I can find by this author. I really like his style, his voice, and his imagination. Great job!

Intriguing story continues

This second book is even more full of action than the first. The story is amazing, Intricately crafted. The romance is entertaining and laced with bitter sorrow. Excellent tale told without descending to smut and gutter language.

Similar cheesy writing as in the first book in the series, I couldn't put it down though. Love triangle resolves, more action, and of course, loose ends to be tied up in the next book.

Perfect 2nd volume

Looking forward to vol 3 ... enjoying the fact that all the rules are changing so no one knows any more than the reader.
