There are worse things out there than vampires and werewolves. There are the Zxxtergin ('X-ter-gin') who look human, but have fangs and claws (all the better to eat you with), and they teleport and mesmerise, and they live for a thousand years - but they can be killed.
Litria, a rebellious young Zxxtergin who enjoys eating out young women, is leaving her victims for humans to find, and after being punished by her family she runs away. Detective Brenda Martin is tasked with hunting the serial killer that is terrorising the city. When they meet, it's love at first sight...
Litria, the title character, has no interest in humans other than as food. She talks to them, has sex with them, gorges on them. There is no emotional or moral tension in this. Her only meaningful interactions are with her family and with Brenda. In the former case, she comes across as little other than a disaffected teenager. There's no exploration of why she is acting out. We're given no real reason to care about her or her family. In the latter case, we mostly see her through Brenda's eyes, where she is an object of sexual desire, a beautiful gift that dare not be unwrapped. From a human perspective, she is unquestionably a monster. From a Zxxtergin perspective... she's a child.
The only person fleshed out enough for us to care about is Brenda, and even she is betrayed eventually by a clumsy plot.
