Though lacking much authentic Welsh blood, Kim Lawrence comes from English-Irish stock. She was born and brought up in North Wales. She returned there when she married, and her sons were both born on Anglesey, an island off the coast. Though not isolated, Anglesey is a little off the beaten track, but lively Dublin, which Kim loves, is only a short ferry ride away. Today they live on the farm her husband was brought up on. Welsh is the first language of many people in this area and Kim's husband and sons are all bilingual she is having a lot of fun, not to mention a few headaches, trying to learn the language! She is a keen gardener and cook and enjoys running often on the beach, as living on an island the sea is never very far away. She is usually accompanied by her Jack Russell, Sprout don't ask, it's long story!

With small children, the unsocial hours of nursing didn't look attractive so encouraged by a husband who thinks she can do anything she sets her mind to, Kim tried her hand at writing. Always a keen Mills & Boon reader, it seemed natural for her to write a romance novel. In 1995, she published her first novels and now she can't imagine doing anything else.

I find this story way too tame for my liking. At first I thought it was going to be good because of the immediate dislike between the hero and heroine. I thought she would give him a run for his money but as the story unfolded it was all loose, no emotional connection or angst. By the ending I was ready to beat my head against the wall for all the simple lovey dovey stuff going on. This book practically screams no conflict. It was kind of annoying.

Well it started off so good and then it fell flat when they slept together like they are just hooking up. I thought it was real but not for a romance book. I want sweet romantic. I know men are sex pigs in real life but this is fiction make me Breathless or don't write at all. Romance is not sex on tap!!! I did no get this one it was well written. I will not read it again.

Wow that first half was intense. If only I'd had some popcorn...
Even if the h's big scandal wasn't thoroughly revealed at the beginning there was an assurance that she was the victim instead so as a reader a get on team h instead of spending the book wondering what did she do. So big thanks for that.
I'm not fan of H/h being widow and/or having already a child but somehow it didn't bother me much here. I would have liked an epilogue with the new family dynamics though.
Also I'm glad the misunderstanding wasn't dragged unnecessarily but then the second half wasn't as intense.

Oh and I think I'll stop reading HPs with Spanish or Latin Heroes... They make me doubt of my mother tongue

A good story. Nothing out of the ordinary.
My high expectations - due to the immediate clash between H/h and the continual sparring - went down after a few chapters. The flying sparks dimmed & the sparring stopped.
Santiago is a very judgmental hero with an "I don't do relationships " attitude. He thinks Lucy is a gold-digger who sets her view on his gullible brother.
Lucy is feisty heroine with a mixture of toughness & vulnerability. She had a bad experience that ruined her reputation and labeled her a " femme fatale" & a marriage- breaker. In truth, she is an innocent virgin.
What prevented the story from falling flat is the feisty heroine & KL' vivid writing and her quirky sense of humor.

The truth behind the scandal…Santiago Silva is appalled to discover that his feckless half-brother's latest love interest is infamous femme fatale Lucy Fitzgerald—who clearly thinks the Silva fortune is an easy target! Simmering with fury, the formidable Santiago steps in to show her just how wrong she is. Santiago is well accustomed to resisting dangerous attraction, but Lucy's alluring naiveté shocks him. The safest place for a woman with so devastating a beauty is clear—with him! After all, without a heart to break, he's the only man who can take her on without losing himself…

Nice easy read. Hero sorts himself out, heroine conquers her fear. I think Ramon may be my favourite character. He's young, cheeky, and sick of his overbearing brother.

Started with a bang then devolved into endless bedroom time. That is not romance! 2 1/2 stars rounding down.

Lindo final, protagonistas con personalidad, pero nada del otro mundo. estuvo bien para pasar el rato.
