IN HER WORDS: I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me. I read everything; I mean everything! All kinds of books, even encyclopedias. I am fascinated by the written word and I love storytellers. It is a great privilege to be counted one myself. Christine Feehan returns with another thrilling book in the paranormal romance and supernatural suspense Leopard series. Gorya Amurov is known as his family’s peacekeeper, but he and his leopard are barely under control. His harsh life has molded him into a savage fighter with a calm exterior which is what others see. He believes he would be better off dead. Maya Averina had a cruel childhood and has been years hunting and killing the criminals who destroyed her life. She keeps to herself and has never lost focus until now. An ambush takes her by surprise and now she’s a prisoner about to be sold to the highest bidder. She’s ready to fight her way out until a man arrives to set her free. They’re also both Amur leopard shifters.
As always, Feehan does an incredible job of bringing the main and secondary characters to life. Both Gorya and Maya are elite shifters with abilities beyond that of most others. They’re faster, stronger, move more stealthily, and have other unique abilities. Gorya’s leopard, Slayer, is a killer and difficult to control. Maya’s leopard is Wraith. She has protected Maya since Maya was a toddler. Gorya seems gentle and considerate when compared to his cousins. He sooths explosive situations and then fades into the background. Many consider him weak. He has recently taken over the lair in the Atchafalaya River Basin in Louisiana and many challenges are expected. Both had tragic and frightening childhoods and action-oriented careers. Each goes through a transformation as the story progresses. It was also great to reconnect with characters from previous books. This gave the series continuity and I enjoyed visited with old friends; especially Gedeon and Meiling. What a job interview they had!
While most of the novel takes place in Louisiana, there are also scenes in San Antonio and Houston, Texas as well as Russia and Panama. The world-building but good but not quite as great as the last book in the series where it was especially vivid.
The story grabbed my attention immediately and didn’t let up as I rapidly turned the pages. The deeply involved and multi-layered plot has some unpredictable moments that add suspense and danger including a surprise near the ending. The author balances the violent aspects of the novel with the intrigue, romance, suspense, work relationships, and the mending of two broken individuals. This novel features cruelty, power, death, greed, human trafficking, ill treatment of women and children, trust, friendship, acceptance, relationships, and much more. There is one long spicy and steamy scene.
Overall, this action-packed paranormal romantic suspense story has great characterization and pulls on the heart strings. It looks at a variety of types of relationships. Those who enjoy steamy and action-packed paranormal romantic suspense novels with compelling characters will likely enjoy this series. I have read more than seventy books by this author across multiple series. This one has the right mix of romance, tension, action, and a thrilling storyline. I’m looking forward to reading my next book by this author.

First Impressions Leopard’s Hunt is the NEWEST release in the Leopard People series by Christine Feehan. This is book #14 and I can’t believe we are this far in this series. It just feels like yesterday when I read the beginning books of this series. Its actually not as old as some of her others. I was really excited for this one and this is an author that I really just auto buy and just dive into her books so quickly and easily. This is one of my most anticipated reads for the WHOLE YEAR! That is how excited I was for this one. I just loved the previous book so was eager to see what she would handle with this one here. Even though the heroine is kick ass, I trusted in Feehan to deliver and she DEFINITELY did that with this one here. Lately Feehan has been writing a ton of kick ass heroines and I am kinda drained of it, I miss her softer heroines, BUT I will say that she made this heroine really work for me when I was NOT in the mood for her, so that should tell you how flawlessly written this book is.
First Line Gedeon Volkov had been a fixer for years--and he was considered the best in his field.
Summary This book starts out with Gorya Amurov, who has taken over his lair who has been corrupt for years with drug and human trafficking and he is putting a stop to this modern age slavery. So many leopards are getting caught up in it and he is determined to win this war against it, no matter what he has to do to stop it. But he knows that he and his leopard are more ruthless than most in his circle. He hires on Gedeon and Meiling to kill him when he has gone too far. But then through a turn of fate, he finds a woman locked in a basement, who is just as lethal as he is and without hope for anything good in this world just like he is. Maya Averina was taken as a child, and raped and tortured and lost her whole family. But now she is coming through her first heat, and she finds her mate in the most unlikely of circumstances. A man who is cold and ruthless but calls something to her and is just as lost and without hope just like she has been and they connect to each other. Their leopard’s encouraged both of their humans and their romance has been one that was encouraged by their animals. But they find such solace and healing in each other while also fighting the threat to their lair and a hidden conspiracy to destroy them and their work against the human trafficking rings…
What I Loved Leopard’s Hunt BLEW my mind! Christine Feehan definitely delivered a story that is guaranteed to keep you on edge from beginning to end. And this book is where we get a serial change of sorts and I love it when she does these plot building that gives hints on what is coming up next. I honestly didn’t know what to expect about this one, but it was way different than I expected going into it. I also was so ALL IN for this romance. I loved both of these characters. Gorya and Maya have such pain and heartache and your heart immediately goes out to them and the struggles that they have faced. Despite how powerful and kick ass both of them are, they have such vulnerabilities and they don’t fight their attraction or their bond like you would expect from such strong personalities. The relationship just flows so smoothly despite the fear and reservations that they have regarding it. We get some old favorites including DRAKE and some connections to what happened in “Savage Nature” and I really adored that connection there. The plot is really thrilling and wow the plot connections is so crafty and cunning and such evil is in these villains here. It does get pretty intense in that respect, so make sure you know what to expect going into this. It really tackles some tough issues and its one of the elements to this author’s writing that I really respect. I love that she writes about real issues that not many authors are willing to address especially in matters of human trafficking.
What I Struggled With The pacing in the second half was a bit off for me, I had a hard time really keeping up with the story and there was a couple of plot holes or maybe I just accidentally missed them. Normally Feehan is really good about making sure these don’t happen. But otherwise it was a powerfully written story that if you love anything paranormal, you need to read it!
Overall View Leopard’s Hunt is a true masterpiece of thrilling plot devices, characters that will tug at your heartstrings, and a story that will addict its readers in like a moth to flame in such a stunning delivery to pack the punch that only this author delivers! A WONDROUS INSTALLMENT TO MELT YOUR HEART FROM BEGINNING TO END!
Favorite Quote(s) “You’re never going to lose me, Maya. Never. I’d find my way back from hell to get to you.”
I can’t breathe without you, Gorya. I’ll never be the same. I haven’t been able to breathe without you since the moment I laid eyes on you. We belong together. The pair of us. Broken. Damaged. We wor together. No matter what happens, we fit…
Baby. We’re already woven together. The same heart. The same soul. The same skin. They broke us to pieces and when we put our pieces together, we became one. You. Wraith. Me. Rogue.

When I was about a third of the way through this book I was sure I would only give it three stars and had already started composing my review but the last 150 pages turned that around to another five star review. My reason for the three stars, anyone familiar with this series knows how it started. Leopard shifters living in the rainforests, the males destroying their own culture.by being brutal with their females. For each male shifter there is one female, as the population has shrunk (down to the males violence) it has become almost impossible for a male to find his mate and those lucky enough face a battle keeping her. Then the Amur Leopards were introduced and things took a way darker twist. Human trafficking became a major plot point and.the "heroes" were members of organised crime families, but they were different had morals and worked against the traffickers from inside the organisations. These men had all led.brutal.lives abused from childhood, forced to witness atrocities over and over, turned into brutal killers with no soft edges. The women these men have found and found happiness with have come from all walks of life, some had normal lives before meeting their mate, some , endured their own trauma's. Mila the heroine in this book takes the trauma to a highly unpleasant place, her parents murdered when she is two Mila is left in what is essentially a brothel and I will not describe what she goes through there. Except to say Ms Feehan and authors like her as they are writing series keep.having to "up the ante" shall we say. In the first book there will be a villain and he will be irredeemable but as the books progress the villains acts become increasingly more violent and.horrifying and I just wonder when enough Is enough and does it sometimes go too far........ Suffice to say the last 150 pages are Ms Feehan at her best I am so glad I stuck with it....................
Leopard’s Hunt was an action packed, exciting read! I really liked Maya and my heart broke for all she went through, and at such a young age. Maya was strong and I was happy she made it her mission in life to hunt down and execute sexual molesters and human traffickers!
Everything that Maya and Gorya went through was hard to stomach, and I wished I knew going in, because it affected my overall enjoyment. I was thankful the events were not expounded on in detail, but recounted as brief memories for Maya and Gorya. Still, be aware there are triggers for rape and sexual abuse touched on several times through the story.
I liked all the shifter parts, justice being served and the cleanup that both Gorya and Maya took on together! Gorya spent many years strategizing and underplaying his strengths so he could best these monsters! There was a happy surprise at the end for Maya and I was thrilled for her! This is book fourteen in the series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. A copy was kindly provided by Berkley in exchange for an honest review.
Gorya and his family were tasked with taking over several territories, clearing them of trafficking, by any means necessary. No one really expected much from Gorya. He was the quiet cousin, unassuming and the peace keeper. Beneath that calm facade lurked the deadliest predator of them all... and it seemed that Maya was the first to recognize him for exactly who he was.
I thought that missing a few books in this series would leave me blind to the wonder of this story, but I was immediately absorbed, not missing a single moment. I was caught up in the connection Gorya and Maya shared, the way their wolves maneuvered them together (or manipulated, depending on how you see it), and the incredible action scenes that the author let play out. Gorya was a dangerous being, but with Maya... these two were lethal.
I admired both characters for their strength, and not just the physical kind. They endured such horrors as children and young adults, but turned that trauma into a passion to right the wrongs done to them. They shared an almost symbiotic connection, both from their pasts and the leopards that were driving them. I loved Gorya for his patience and understanding, Maya for her willingness to try. They made my heart hurt in the best way.
With the amount of voices contributing to this tale, there was no shortage of detail or nuance to this story. Doing bad things for the right reasons should be their motto. I loved this couple so much and I can't wait dive into the books I missed.
This is one of the best of the Leopard books. Drake and Saria (Savage Nature) and Evangeline and Fyodor (Savage Hunt) are still my favorite couples.
But, Maya and Gorya are such a captivating couple who worked hard for their HEA. Each survived horrific abuse by evil villains as children. As adults, they discovered their gifts on their own, careful to never reveal what each was capable of. But their journey as mates was written in the stars.
When their paths crossed again, Maya and Gorya found the courage to try to build a life together as partners and mates. Re-visiting so many beloved characters provided a rich backdrop to the main couple.
A lot of loose ends were tied up, albeit rather bloody. Innocents were the usual causalities. It felt like closure in a sense but I hope that at least Kye gets a full book to revisit a new heroine who survived against all odds.
Gorya is an elite Leopard shifter. He's taken over the criminal enterprise after killing everyone who used to run it. Now he's a better boss than his predecessor because he doesn't allow women and children to be abused and trafficked the way he was when he was a child. Gorya hires another couple to watch him closely because he thinks he might have to be put down because his Leopard is a cold blooded killer.
Maya is also an elite Leopard and a killer. Her early life was very hard when people killed her family and kept her as a sex slave. When she and other escaped with the help of another, she grew up to be a killer that took out the men who made her life miserable.
Now Gorya and Maya's leopard's have mated and their human sides are feeling things for each other but neither of them think they can truly be in a relationship with anyone because they are so broken emotionally.
Maya meets the people that Gorya works with and his cousins and they all have to work together to bring down the bad people even though they don't trust her and she doesn't trust them much. When they find out that some of the people is Gorya's organization are still trying to traffic women and children, they have to work together to find out who, take care of them and save the women and children from a bad situation.
Gorya is such a great character, he thought there was nothing redeemable about him and he was so wrong. When he and Maya start getting closer they bring out the best in each other and their leopards are helping them to heal. It was sad watching how broken they really are but great seeing how they tried to find a way though and make their relationship work.
This book was a little wordy, a little slow at times which slowed down the pace for me but all in all it was a great story. .
Disclosure: I was given this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This one was interesting in the opening things felt a bit hopeless for the 2 main characters, but at the end, there was so much hope! Not just for them as a couple but for all the work they did with their allies. Things that happened to them as kids, won't happen to others due to their actions, which you gotta love!
My heart broke for both Gorya and Maya and hearing about how their childhood was. It's amazing that either of them were as good and sane as they were. Also easy to understand the personal mission they had. I wasn't sure about them together as a couple at the start, thought Gorya might be too much for Maya, but he ended up being perfect for her. He was so patient, took time to get to know her before anything physical happened and often let Maya be in the driver's seat for when things did go there. He also really respected her skills and how she could help him, even if he did want to keep her safe too.
I enjoyed the story of Maya and Gorya. I just felt it was ending. There's so many that haven't found their Hea. I'm hoping there are more stories to come.
Gorya blew me away! I was not expecting those complexities, changes or surprises based on his role in other books. Maya broke my heart repeatedly with her backstory and trauma, but she is also tied as my favorite female with Meiling. Together they make a fierce and captivating couple. Maya stole the show when she got angry at Timur the first time and with her gifts. I love how she was so harmed, but still cared so much. Gedeon and Meiling were very present and I loved their role in this book. I enjoyed every book in the series, but this story was one of my favorites and the ending had me laughing out loud. The chemistry and action of the couple, the shifters, the coalition was perfect and I enjoyed seeing it all come together. I hope we get more in this series and that the new couple at the end stays with Gorya and Maya, not in Russia!
I just didn't gel with this book. Christine Feehan was the author who got me into reading romance as a teenager and the Leopard People series was one of my favourites, but it's been a while since I've read anything new by her.
I just didn't find this very engaging. The writing style felt a bit stiff, the dialogue somewhat clunky, and I struggled to get into it. It's a shame, because I have a lot of affection for her earlier works, but reading this felt very different. It just wasn't for me.
Starting the book I felt a bit disappointed, it didn't feel like a Christened book, but then it changed dramatically or drastically and I was totally hooked again as it's a favourite series of mine. Turned into a real page turner to loose some sleep
(I hope this book is NOT like (leopards scar book 14) I have loved almost all of Leopard People series by Christine Feehan but that one was appalling I’m super against cheating which that book had in to me a book is to get sucked in and read an amazing fantasy romance novel I’m not against dark romance I love them the darker the better but when cheating comes in the mix I’m out… send the book back get my money back I don’t even finish the book after that and especially if they’re mates/fated so I’m really hoping this book doesn’t have that and if there is I hope Christine freehan can put a warning on the description so I don’t waste my time.)
I posted the top review before leopards hunt came out and only the name and picture was on here so here’s my full review after reading this book.
I have read at least 10 of Cristiane freehans books of the (leopard people) they were all so amazing but “leopards scar”really did put me off on reading anymore of her books because it had cheating in that book and I don’t read anything with cheating in after the cheating is mentioned I just stop reading and send it back but with “leopards hunt”cristiane really did turn it around I think she realised not a lot of people liked leopard scar because of the cheating and there was no backbone from the main female so now that I’ve said that let’s get on with this book it was great I’m happy to say there is NO cheating in this book Gorya and maya were an absolute amazing couple gorya was a little hesitant and so was maya about being mates but that ends quickly mayas up bringing was really really bad there is mentions of rape and abuse at a very young age and through out her life also in goryas life too but gorya is very patient with maya during intimate moments. maya is a very strong woman I like how she was able to fight for her self I must say she’s probably the strongest out of all the other females in this series and that make it even more great we also get to see new abilities that only a small % of the leopards have also in this book (nearly) every character from the series, was in this book that I can remember and the author sometimes switches to other characters prospectives including enemies which was different but I like it so I will be reading more of leopards people if anymore come out I will just have to wait and see what people say about it first to make sure there is 100% NO cheating like I tell everybody who read books always check the reviews first to make sure everything is ok with the book I also like when author give warning on there books for any triggers in the book but Cristiane doesn’t do that sooo (READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY) 😊 again great book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christine Feehan does it again! I was so excited for this addition to the Leopard Series, which will satisfy long-time readers and pull in new readers with all the plotline they need in this awesome action-packed romance in Leopard’s Hunt
Gorya Amurov has been a character of interest for me since he first appeared in the series, and now it’s time for his story… Along with some secret revelations as he story unfolds He’s exactly how I hoped he would be and stays true to his character. Both he and his heroine Maya are from abusive pasts that broke them yet also built their strength of character and fierce loyalty to those who stood for them. In spite of danger and trauma they found those in their lives that taught the code of honor and bond of family.
They believe they are unable to give or receive love…that they could never give to another what they deserved, that there is no future for them… However their Leopards recognize who they are to each other and steer them toward another path… using the common goal of ridding the world of those who profit off trafficking…playing on their loyalty and drive to complete their hunt.
This elite leopard couple is damaged yet courageous, and I love watching them grow through a blend of action, adventure and romance…grow stronger due to the common goal of their hunt, their bond with their leopards, and the discovery of the healing gift love can bring them. Gorya and Maya’s story quickly became a favorite in the series. How they find their way together and how the book’s storyline weaves its way into the series plotline, with many oh wow, grins, sad tears and happy heart melting emotions as they decide the path they’re going to take and edge of seat Leopard Karma delivered on the way.

The things is I absolutely loved this book for the most part. Gorya and Maya are adorable- broken and super competent, but also very much influenced by extremely traumatic childhoods filled with brutal abuse of every form. They’re smart enough to know that they’re not coming into the relationship as healed people and maybe that’s why they work so well. By virtue of the “healing power of love™️” trope done right, this is a slow burn that provides a realistic pathway for two traumatized people to find hope and healing in the love they have for each other. Their story and the writing around it is beautiful and very reminiscent of CF’s early work where you have vulnerable alphas who are as deadly as they’re willing to be soft for the heroine. Except perhaps this is better because the heroine here is as tough and can save herself.
The two bits that were weakest for me had to do with how rushed the Tanja/Kyanite story was at the end- we wanted moreeee and I’m not sure if we’re going to get a full book of those two and also how separate the romance/romantic relationship aspect of this book felt from the action resolution with clearing the proverbial swamp of traffickers. I feel like the action resolution felt a bit too chunked and separate from the rest of the book and it felt like two different pieces of work. I mean I still really enjoyed it overall, bit these minor hitched kept it at fantastic as opposed to absolute perfection. Highly recommend for CF fans!
Mya is independent and due to what happened to her when she was just a little girl has dedicated her life to revenge but because she is dealt out this revenge they have men that are after her not only due to what she does but because of what she is a nubile virginal Shapeshifting leopard. She has had few friends in her life but when she sees Gideon at the café in New Orleans and he ask her for her help she is reluctant but because he was there for her she agrees but once she is in an underground room locked up on the dark web being auctioned off… She’s having second thoughts. thankfully Maya isn’t the only one Gideon has double crossed and for reasons I won’t get into hear the leader of the pack Goraya arrives with his two bodyguards AN another rare Shapeshifter there to make certain Gorya doesn’t hurt an innocent person when he goes to confront Gideon he is immediately aware there is a female shifter in the next room in his leopard is begging to come out but he keep reminding his leopard they’re never going to mate but the leopard disagrees. When they finally rescue Maya from the room Gorya‘s need to protect her is intense. Mya is resigned to the fact her leopard wants Goraya but in wanting him she is also putting him in his packed in danger or is she? Can she stay with Goraya they’ve established that they share a pass but can they share a future as well? I really like these books and love Christine Feehan‘s writing style I just wish these books wouldn’t focus on the sex as much as they do but having said that I still really enjoyed this book. I even went and download it the first book that happened to be free. I did find there was a lot to remember and with their names not being common it made it hard at first but I soon became adept at the people involved and I would very much like to read the next book in the series I want to thank Berkeley publishing and NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
This book follows the story of Gorya Amurov, a leopard shifter who struggles to keep his inner beast under control, and Maya Averina, a strong and independent shifter on a mission for revenge. Gorya has always been the peacekeeper in his family, but deep down he harbors a deep rage and believes he would be better off dead. However, everything changes when he meets Maya, who is in the midst of her first heat and in danger of being sold off to the highest bidder. Gorya's protective instincts kick in and he becomes determined to keep her safe and claim her as his mate. Maya is a fierce and determined shifter, focused on taking down the criminals who destroyed her life. But when she is unexpectedly ambushed and trapped, she finds herself relying on Gorya to set her free. As they navigate through dangerous situations and intense sexual tension, Maya begins to realize that Gorya is not the monster she initially thought him to be. One of the strongest aspects of this book is the chemistry between Gorya and Maya. Their relationship is built on mutual respect and understanding, and it is satisfying to see them come together and heal each other's past wounds. The steamy scenes between them are well-written and add depth to their connection. The action and suspense in the plot keep the reader engaged from start to finish. Feehan does an excellent job of slowly unraveling the mystery surrounding Maya's past and the danger they face. Overall, this was an enjoyable read and would highly recommend for readers who enjoy steamy paranormal romance with a touch of danger and suspense.
I struggled through this. Finally finished it. Graphic violence, and sexual memories of even small children, and brutality. I’m talking two, and four yrs old. Not my usual book. Her mates family goes after the huge ring of traffickers, and violently kills them all. Lots of leopards fighting. Surprise ending that was something good. I could only read this 400 page book a little at a time. 3 stars. Because there was tenderness between couples, and all the bad women and men died, some quickly, and some brutally.
Every book she writes don't matter What story she's telling Which of her series she's telling it's fantastic I have never picked a book up of hers and not liked it So if you're looking for a good read pick this 1 up enjoy it I enjoyed it and mostly I love it Feehan's series Hope you enjoy as much as much as I did
This was good as always, just as all of Feehan's books are, but it is missing something. If I didn't know better, I would swear she is utilizing a ghostwriter. I've read all of her novels in every series and I miss the writing style of her earlier books. They were written with more heart or something. She could pull at your heartstrings without all the dark seeming to take over. In the last five years or so, her books have taken on a darker edge I don't particularly like. Overall...it's good....its just not great.
DNF 32% - this is really bad. I'm not going to put myself through another sentence in this book - it's that bad.
I've never read Christine Feehan before and thought I'd start with her newest release, assuming most author's get better with time. THIS cannot possibly be a representation of her work. Like, I've heard she's one of the OG paranormal romance writers, but this book is just... not good on any level.
These characters... what to say? Surface level with actions that don't make any sense. Like, she's terrified of ALL men, ALL shifters, ALL Bratva but by page 125, she's reassuring him that he's not like the others even though he's representative of all the things she's terrified of, and on page they've been together for like an hour. Kisses don't heal trauma. Describing trauma is not enough to heal trauma. If character growth, etc. happens later, then good luck to the folks that make it that far.
I thought I was getting an angsty shifter romance from a veteran author but what I got felt like AI generated garbage with a pretty cover.
What an extraordinary journey that immeasurably revolutionized my mind, completely transformed my heart, and irrevocably reshaped my worldview! Leopard's Hunt challenged my heart and showed me the true beauty of the human spirit. It is only through our desire to live and live a full life that we even think about allowing love to open our eyes and invade our hearts. Love can accomplish the impossible and heal the irreparable injuries sustained through this life. Open yourself and allow it to accomplish a miracle in your life. I guarantee that it will if you give it full reign because it won't stop until light has invaded every part of your soul.
Goaya has lived an incomprehensible life in order to accomplish his ultimate goal. No sacrifice is too great, and no battle is too too much. He is closer then ever to his life's mission, but with it comes great risk. Maya has only known pain and heartache growing up. She moved from one bad situation to another with only a small glimmer of hope to hold onto. With a higher purpose in mind, she has honed her skills to a lethal edge. Nothing has distracted her from her ultimate goal. Only when she gets thrown off course does she even contemplate more for her life. Goaya has no idea what to do with Maya when he first meets her, but he knows he doesn't want to lose her. Thrown together by Fate, will these two learn to open their hearts to more, or will they refuse to become vulnerable no matter the beauty and blessings it brings along the way?
Our world doesn't have to suffer if we could just choose to love each other instead of viewing our friends and neighbors as objects. Once we view people as objects we can somehow justify using them to our own ends. That way of thinking will only end in utter disaster and complete devastation. Maya and Goaya showed us exactly how love can change a damaged person into a work of unspeakable beauty. It is our heart that determines who we are and not what others do to us.
Christine Feehan has blown my mind and obliterated my heart with this latest masterpiece! She knows how to get to the very essence of a person and show them for who they really are. What an extraordinary wonder and blessing she is to me. I savor her words like water to a dying man because they never fail to encourage and enlighten.
A bit of a link to the previous book in this series before I review Leopards Hunt.
I was disappointed after reading Leopards Scar. I was not even sure if I would read Leopards Hunt. This was due to Leopards Scar being about a couple that had never been mentioned throughout any of the books in the rest of the series. I also wasn't happy with Leopards Scar because of the cheating implication (cheating is a no for me in any book). As we know from all of the other books the males find their mates in the leopard of the female they fall in love with, but there is a deeper connection between them from the start. The males would never think of touching another woman if they met their mate. Although for most of the book Gedeon and Meiling were not in a relationship, Gedeon had suspected Meiling was his true mate, but he made no attempt to claim her. He continually slept with other women but then became possessive if any other male approached Meiling or showed an interest in her. This was due to him not believing she didn't have a leopard (even though in the other books it has been made clear that the men don't want the women just because they have a leopard) so it shouldn't have bothered him whether she had a leopard or not. We also found out these characters have additional gifts that none of the other characters from the previous books had and we did not get any real explanation about these gifts.
Now to Leopards Hunt. I can say Christine has totally redeemed herself with this book. This follows Gorya Amurov and Maya Averina.
Please be aware this book covers some very upsetting and difficult scenes, so if you have any triggers, please be aware that this book may be hard for you to read. It does cover things such as human trafficking, sexual and physical abuse of women & children including the FMC (but in her past, before she meets Gorya).
I have been waiting for Gorya's book. He has been the character that has been made to look unimportant, less fierce, dominant and controlling than any of the other males in the series. The one that lets others fight his battles. We really get to see just how wrong everyone is.
Maya managed to escape the life she had ben forced into at the age of 2. She has become strong, has trained hard and now seeks to hunt down the people who destroyed her life and who continues to destroy the lives of others. She falls into a trap set by someone she was helping and ends up being saved by Gorya.
Maya's leopard Wraith is mate to Goryas leopard Rogue. He is intitially not interested in a relationship with her, but that changes very quickly.
Maya has suffered through so much pain and heartbreak. As a result of this, even though she is attracted to Gorya, she feels she cannot be the woman he needs.
We do get more of Gedeon and Meiling in this book, and we do get to learn more about the gifts they have. Gifts that Gorya and Maya also have. The gifts they have all link to stories that the elders used to tell when they were younger. Stories that no one believed about Whisperers.
As usual with Christine's books, there is a lot of action, suspense and romance.
Because of everything that happened at the end of this it does leave me wondering if there will be more in the series to come. In a way it leaves it open for another book but it also does leave Christine the option of saying this is the last book in the series.
I suppose we shall see.....
I received this copy as an ARC from the author and Netgalley.

I have been reading Christine Feehan's Leopard Series since 2002 when the first book was released. As such I was ecstatic when give the opportunity to access an Advanced Reader Copy of Leopard's Hunt. Before I get to the meat of my review I must stress the importance checking the content warning and triggers before reading this novel. As someone who adores dark romance I must stress that this is not a dark romance but rather a romance novel that touches on darker subject matters.

Leopard's Hunt was an amazing novel that made me fall in love with the characters while also making me reflect on the overarching impact that SA, Child SA and Human Trafficking has on the lives of the people who escaped it. Gorya is a Leopard Shifter actively trying to fulfill one last promise he made to his loved ones before opting to end his life. No longer able to control his other half he just wants to finish clearing out the traffickers in his inherited lair before finally taking the step he feels is the only way for him to experience true peace. On what he intends to be his last missions he meets Maya, his destined mate. Maya on the other hand is working towards a similar mission and considers herself broken due to her own experiences having been trafficked as a child. She too has decided that her only fate is to end her own life once she takes out the men that stole her only chance of normality from her. These two broken people collide and slowly begin to help each other heal. Feehan does an excellent job of writing broken characters that learn to live with their past over magically healing from them. This story was a loving tale of two broken people doing their best to rid the world of a horrible coalition that ruined their lives before it can impact to many other.

Trying to finish this book on audio. 4 hours in and so far all they've done is talk about how many times and in how many ways she was raped by multiple men at the age of two and five years old. Then we get to hear about his coming into the room and witnessing her being raped by several members of his family. We then get to hear him tell her how to survive and kill people when they try to rape her in the future. So we get the same story told three different ways, thanks for that! I Keep zoning out when the characters drone on and on about their abuse. How many new rape stories will she share? Don't know but you can bet that he will share his side.
I'm soldiering on. Are we still calling these romancesd?
Okay I finished it. And it's clearly been written by a ghostwriter. It kind of reminded me of an episode of law and order SGU shifter style. The characters are traveling from one location to the other unraveling the secrets behind the trafficking ring and previous characters are brought up for two pages and then determined to be traders and immediately killed and were given the impression by the end of the book that they have taken out all of the sex traffickers.
And can we just talk about this suddenly new psychic ability that is popping up randomly? Now suddenly some shifter families have the ability to not only read the minds of other shifters but take over their animals and prevent them from warning their human counterparts of danger. This is such lazy writing. This isn't the only series that seems to have undergone a level of rewriting history. I'm not interested in going into detail because I'm kind of over it. I stopped buying Christine feehan's books about 10 years ago when her writing became so repetitive and predictive that I felt no need to spend $25 on a hardback. Thank God my library offers free audio books

We all have those certain authors that we follow religiously. We just know we can count in them for a good read. Christine Feehan has never once let me down in the 17 years I have been devouring her stories after picking up wild rain and dark gold on my way to compete in the regional testing for natural science in high school. I was only allowed to bring in number two pencils and a book to read after testing was completed. I got two just in case. Didn't realize at the time I grabbed them off a shelf in Walmart that they were series, but after I read them and looked into it, I made it my mission if life to own every Christine Feehan book to be published. And I can proudly say, I have been very successful. I love every series she has written. As the leopard series was one of my originals, it hold a special place in my heart. Leopard's Hunt was just beautiful to me. Two broken individuals who found the courage to give their future together a try and found completion in each other. Feehan always connects with me. I love a dark romance. But I especially love seeing people in their healing process find a partner/soulmate that fully accepts them for all their scars, damage, and hang-ups. It's just so satisfying to me. And I love reading about them making it to their happy endings. If you can't have it in real life, reading a Christine Feehan book about it is the next best thing. Feehan sits as queen of that trope to me. Her books make me so emotional but never leaves me hanging. 10 out of 10 ya'll, you like spice? it has it. You like romance, done. Shifters? Yes! Touch her, and he'll peel the skin from your bones? absolutely. A touch of darkness for all my dark romance babes out there? Deliciously so. (mind your triggers, your mental health is important)
Gorya Amurov has taken over the New Orleans territory for his family of leopard shifters. His reputation has always been one of peaceful and calm among the wilder members of his family. In fact, though Gorya barely contains his violent other half, Rogue, who wants to rend and tear all their enemies. Gorya is just about at the end of his tolerance for life certainly not imagining to ever find a mate. When he unexpectedly rescues Maya Averina, everything changes.
Maya was raised in brutality and abuse until she escaped those horrors vowing to exact revenge on everyone involved. She has lived in the shadows for years building an internet reputation for cyber research while hunting down adversaries who continue their criminal ways. Her cat self is ready for a mate putting Maya in a very vulnerable situation. Gorya recognizes Maya not only as his mate but another wounded soul who had no hope of redemption.
As Gorya and Maya get to know one another, they join forces to take out their common enemies who engage in all manner of illicit behavior including being drug runners and human traffickers. Despite her diminutive size, Maya is a force to be reckoned with and Gorya’s true nature comes out when confronting his enemies past and present.
This is book #15 in the Leopard People series and continues the same themes of retribution for the deep-seated abusive treatment and evil suffered by the Russian leopard families from their own people. The theme of human trafficking of women, children, and men is once again pervasive in this series as well as Ms. Feehan’s other works.
