Jusqu’au jour où Jolanne rencontre le séduisant Ranveer Din Aktar, prince héritier et futur maharadjah de Chandrapur, qui fera d’elle sa troisième rani, sa troisième épouse...
Au sein de ce palais doré, la jeune femme parviendra-t-elle à trouver sa place ? À surmonter la jalousie des autres épouses et, surtout, à oublier Craig, son bel officier anglais ?

A French book after a long time. A wonderful novel based in the 1700's with the story of one incredible French woman who is sent to the French colonies in India! I learnt about Dupleix and his rivalry with the British Robert Clive. the rivalry between the French and the British for colonial conquest of Imperial India. we could very easily had been a French colony had the French king paid more attention (though I doubt whether they would have been any better for India).

lots of new vocabulary, a very nice book
