The Divas of Doom

So begins this hilarious sequel to The Madams of Mischief (Doom Divas Book 1).
If Marty Sheffield had just gone ahead and killed the worm when she first saw it, maybe those Divas of Doom, Destiny, Chance, and Lady Luck, would have left her alone. But, she didn't, and now it seems that the Architects of Anarchy really have it in for poor Marty. Not only has she just lost her job as a part-time DJ, but after a knock-down, drag-out, mulch-flinging fight with one of her sister's neighbors, Marty becomes the chief suspect when the man ends up dead. The only way to save herself means finding the real culprit before she is thrown in jail, or worse, becomes the next victim.
It is not necessary to read the first book to enjoy this sequel.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little slow in the beginning but I think that could have been a combination of things; 1. this is a new author for me, and 2. I was only reading this book at work so I only had about 15 minutes at a time. However, once I got rolling with the book, I really couldn't put it down (I took it home with me to continue reading). I found the writting to be quirky and witty. The characters were very well developed and the plot was easy to follow with a few surprises along the way. I found myself fretting over the next stupid thing that Marty would get herself into, wondering how the heck she found herself in the worse possible situation and yet still end up smelling like roses at the end of it all. It is a perfect book, for a quick, easy, and enjoyable read.
I love series books, mostly because I really enjoy getting to know the characters and watching them develop throughout the series. After reading this book, I find myself wanting to know more about Tim and how Marty and Tim's relationship is going to develop now that they are adults. Are they forever going to have that kid relationship? Or will there be more? And being the forever optimist that I am, I want to see more! I will be very interested to go back and read the first book as well as the books to follow this one.
Now a note: please double check your grammatical editing. I noticed a few things that should have been caught in editing. Nothing too crazy, but I did find myself double reading a few things. Sorry to be that pain in the butt, but if I notice it, others might too...
OK, so I need to apologize. I am so sorry it took me so long to read this book as a first reader. Oddly enough, I was trying to finish re-reading the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (yes all 19 books plus the in between the numbers books)...again. That being said, this book had a Stephanie Plum feel to it, it was like the Stephanie Plum of the south (which I am OK with). Obviously there were a lot of differences; different job (or lack there of), different pet, different crime, different relationship with sister/family, different general plot...yet there were some random similarities that were small but yet so familiar; i.e. this woman has terrible luck and bad things just seem to find her, she is jobless, in desperate need of money, a mother wondering where she went wrong, she always ends up a mess (in fights, destroyed clothing, broken and bruised), and the oddest thing...peanut butter and olive sandwiches (which by the way is very good and is also good with potato chips).
Thank you again for offering this as a first read book. I loved it and will be looking for more books by this author and in this series in the future.

I enjoyed this book every bit as much as the first in this set of three. Little more action in this and of course she still has not committed to her best friend that everyone knows is the love of her life. Very cute story and lots and lots of laughs in this one as well. Moving on to the third book and hoping she will find true love in this last one. I won a copy of this book in the goodreads giveaway.

If you cross a book by Janet Evanovich with one from "had she but known" Mary Roberts Reinheart and throw in some original characters you might be lucky enough to wind up with this book. A bit of romance and some sibling interaction sprinkled with brawls and pratfalls are all wrapped in a mystery. If you like your mysteries fun I recommend Dives of Doom.

The Divas of Doom was a great book I liked the characters and the way they used humor to diflect a situation. Sherry Siska can definitely write and this book holds your interest. I recommend it highly!

Won this here on Goodreads. As wonderful as the first in the series - on to book 3. I am hoping that Marty gets together with Tim in this one!!

If you like Stephanie Plum...
Light hearted easy read with fun and loveable characters. Screw up Marty and her all pulled together sister Charli solve another mystery that the police weren't fast enough to solve. Some laughable moments occur during all the adventure.

I'm enjoying this series so much. Very well written and amusing. I'm on to book 3.

I enjoyed this book even better than the first one, both of which I won in a Goodreads first-reads giveaway. I think it probably has something to do with the characters being familiar. I love Marty - her feistiness, adventurous spirit, lack of fear, and loyalty to friends and family. Charli had a more prominent role in this book than the first. I've grown to love her, as well. She gets her and Marty into precarious situations almost as much as Marty does, although I still think Marty has the more hyper-active imagination. Marty seems to be unlucky in love, though, which is a little sad as I think she would make the right man - a very patient man who loves her wit and ability to get caught up in drama - a very good partner. This was a great read and I highly recommend it!
