I never like Sarah's character because I find her too sweet, weak and easily smitten to John/Four. And this journal of hers proves my first impressions on her. Didn't like her then, and I still don't like her now either will on the ending of the series.
Short and quick. Not a must read for me, but it's only 5 pages so I guess it wouldn't hurt. I still feel lukewarm about Sarah's character. I don't hate her, but I don't love her as well. Although, I wish there were more pages in her journal, or at least I wish her journal actually talked about things that were more interesting--like what she thought about the entire Lorien vs Mogadorian thing, or what ran through her mind after John's told her the truth about him being a Garde member, things like that. Overall, it was just an okay read for me.
OK, seriously, I only read this because it's part of the Lorien Legacies. I really do not like this chick AT ALL. And whatever comes next shows how much.
Her journal entries are so unbelievably inane that I don't even know what else to say. She's just so hypocritical, honestly. She's trying to sound nice but she just comes off as someone who thinks she's better than everyone else.
I'd rate it 0 stars if I could, simply because I'm biased. The entire thing just annoyed me to no end.
Oh, FYI, you can find it here, to those who want to stomach reading it.
This was an unexpected little treat. I didn't even know it existed until after I read “the rise of nine". The journals are found on the book's website and are not available on ebook format - FYI.
The journal shows Sarah's perspective from the first several times she meets with John Smith in “I am Number Four". Although I didn't really think of her character much during that book, I have since wondered what her perspective might have been .
I feel like I should explain the ★★★ stars. This entire series is worth five stars easily. But this really could have been expanded on a little more, like a full Lost Files novella? But, three stars means “I like it".. which is the level that fits, in my opinion.
Anyway, there are only five journal entries (so far that I could see) and they're pretty short so this is quite an easy indulgence if any of you are curious.
1. You do not need to read this to continue with the series. 2. If you insist, sure, go ahead and read. But remember this is Sarah's journal you're reading. 3. Like I said, Sarah's journal; (personally) not a journal I want to read. Not because I dislike her but because she's simply not interesting enough. Sadly.
A nice little insight of what's going on in Sarah's head when she met and became close to John during I am number 4. Would have liked to read more, mostly about after she learn John's secret!
Hanya ada 5 halaman! Kukira isinya apaan. XD
Semacam brainstorming penulis buat eksplorasi karakter Sarah terus akhirnya beneran diterbitkan gitu? Diselipin jadi bonus di bukunya? XD
Ya udah lah, buat koleksi wae. Now berburu yang lain. Hihuy! Bismillah.
As the title states, these are five short diary entries in Sarah's journal, where we get a glimpse of a few events from the first book through Sarah's eyes.
I'd read those before but hadn't logged them then for some reason. They are not necessary to the story, but give a bit more insight into Sarah's feelings when she first met John.
I didn't see much point to these 5 pages. Sarah's perspective didn't add anything to the story. We could already assume she felt this way in each of the scenes from the narration and John's interpretations, thoughts, and worries of how he was being perceived. It wasn't really worth the time to try to find these and them struggle through reading blurry blown-up images of curly text.
Yes, like many, Sarah is not a character that I like. I think it's annoying and a hindrance to John Smith. Unlike "Sam's Journal", I didn't expect to see anything in this one. Most of the story details events we saw in the first novel, such as Sarah's meeting with John or the time she invited him to her house for dinner. All sweetened with an air of romanticism exaggerated and ridiculous.
It's meh, Sarah ain't important to me and she wasn't important to the original co-author's storyline either (books 1-3) and only had a bigger role in The Fall of Five when there was a new co-author. Whole thing with Sarah seems inconsistent and just thrown together. Also the relationship between her and Four is just shallow and wouldn't have happened if they both weren't hot lmao.
Sarah's version of the even in "I am number four". This book is a bit useless. Honestly there isn't much of Sarah's voice even though it's her diary and the writing is a lot more factual that what an teenager would write.
