Good book. I liked both Jenna and Marc. Jenna has become a bestselling author since she had dated Marc. Now she has someone stalking her and trying to kill her. When she decides she needs protection she goes to Marc and his security firm. She had broken up with him because she couldn't handle his dangerous profession as a cop. Now that she is older and spending more time with him, she realizes that she had never forgotten him. As the danger increases and they are together constantly their attraction escalates and they give in to it. I liked seeing the way that Jenna accepts that she has changed her attitude toward Marc. I also liked seeing the way her mind worked and how some of the things she said helped Marc figure out the bad guy. Marc had spent the last six years trying to solve the mystery of who had been responsible for the deaths of his wife and son. He didn't really want to provide Jenna's protection because he thought it would be a distraction from his search. Jenna herself was the biggest distraction for him. He also realized that he had never forgotten her. I liked the way he was such a closet fan of her books and how he was able to make the connections between her latest book and her stalker. He also had a surprise twist for her at the end that I really enjoyed.

💻A veces siento que las novelas Harlequin tienen mejor trama que aquellas de más de cuatrocientas páginas.
💻Desde el prólogo me dejó con los colmillos largos y si bien fue publicada allá por el 2013 ME ENCANTÓ.
💻Nueve años atrás, la famosa escritora Jenna Whitmore tuvo una relación con el experto en seguridad Marc O´Halloran pero decidieron terminar porque ella no podía amar a un hombre que trabajaba como policía porque ella ha perdido familiares en el campo de batalla. Tiempo más tarde Marc se casa con una prima de Jenna pero su esposa e hijo terminan siendo asesinados por un hombre que aún está en libertad y que Marc está decidido a encontrarlo y ponerlo bajo las rejas.
💻A todo esto, Jenna escribe una novela cuya trama tiene a un villano que coincide con aquel que Marc anda buscando. Pero lo loco es que el propio villano leé la novela de Jenna y decide empezar a intimidarla con amenazas que obligan a Jenna a pedir ayuda a Marc y a su empresa de seguridad, lo que implica reencontrarse después de tanto tiempo.
💻Jenna es consciente que alguien la acecha e incluso quiere matarla en vistas de que su última novela es un éxito de ventas y no queda que confiar en Marc, pese a que éste en un primer momento no quiere ser su custodia porque él solo quiere encontrar al asesino de su esposa e hijo. Es más, estar al lado de Jenna será una distracción
💻Y bueno, a lo largo de diecisiete capítulos el peligro irá en aumento y la pasión entre Marc y Jenna, vuelve a encenderse. A él, la autora lo describe que🫠 incluso el modelo de la portada de su última novela es muy parecido a él, y una de las razones por las que no había podido olvidar a O’Halloran era que ella lo usaban inconscientemente para representar a todos sus héroes. O sea, los movimientos de él, sus físico, sus gestos, es para 🫠 “Lo siguió hasta la cocina y vio cómo se encogía de hombros para quitarse la funda de la pistola. Lo observó descargar la pistola y dejarla junto a la funda sobre la encimera de la cocina.”
💻Sin duda, lo que más me gustó es que él sea un fans de los libros que escribe Jenna y la trama gira en torno a la vida de una escritora. De ahí que le dí 5 ⭐ A tal punto que Marc descubre que la última novela de Jenna está relacionada con el acosador de ella. Marc descubre conexiones.
💻RECOMENDADA para un fin de semana como en Argentina que hay que ir a votar.

เรื่องนี้เริ่มต้นเหมือนจะสนุกนะคะ ทำให้เรานึกถึงงานเขียนในยุคแรก ๆ ของฟิออนา แบรนด์ แต่แล้วก็ค่อย ๆ นิ่งลง ๆ จนความบังเอิญที่มากเกินเหตุทำลายหนังสือเล่มนี้ไป
ไล่เรียงความบังเอิญในเรื่อง
1. พระเอกและนางเอกคบหาดูใจกันมาก่อน แต่เลิกกันไปเพราะนางเอกทำใจเรื่องพระเอกเป็นตำรวจไม่ได้ เพราะแฟนคนแรกเป็นทหารก็ตายในสนามรบ ต่อมาพระเอกแต่งงานกับญาติสนิทของนางเอก โดยที่ไม่ได้รู้จักกันผ่านนางเอก ทำนองว่าไปเจอกันเอง หลงรักกันเอง จากนั้นก็แต่งงานกัน
2. ครอบครัวของพระเอกถูกคนร้ายฆ่าตาย ในเวลาต่อมานางเอกซึ่งเป็นนักเขียน ก็เขียนนิยายที่มีเรื่องดันไปตรงกับลักษณะของคนร้าย ทำให้คนร้ายคิดว่าจะต้องขู่ในนางเอกกลัว
3. และนั่นนำพระเอกกลับมาสู่ชีวิตของนางเอกอีกครั้ง ซึ่งตรงนี้ก็โอเคล่ะนะ แต่.... นางเอกมีคนรู้ใจซึ่งรู้จักกันผ่านอินเตอร์เน็ต ซึ่งเป็นตำรวจ คอยให้คำแนะนำนางเอกเวลาแต่งเรื่อง เธอไม่รู้ว่าเขาคือใคร แต่ติดต่อกันทางอีเมลล์ ซึ่งแน่นอนว่า คือพระเอกนั่นเอง
จริง ๆ เรื่องไม่ได้แย่อะไร กระทั่งการที่คนร้ายมาตามจองเวรพระเอกนางเอกก็พอพยายามเข้าใจได้ แต่ความบังเอิญ (หรือจะเรียกว่า การที่คนแต่งเอาทุกอย่างมาโยงเข้าหากันไปหมด) ทำให้เรารู้สึกเหลือเชื่อ นอกจากนี้แล้วเคมีระหว่างพระนางก็ดูอ่อนด้อยลงไป (ซึ่งงานระยะหลังของฟิออนา แบรนด์ก็เป็นแบบนี้อยู่แล้วล่ะป
โดยรวมเป็นเรื่องที่อ่านฆ่าเวลาไปแค่นั้น อย่าคาดหวังว่าจะเป็น Cullen's Bride ก็แล้วกัน

An okay read, it was very retro, like something that would have been popular back in the 80's not something that would appeal to an audience in 2013.
