The playful quartet that penned the acclaimed 'Once Upon A Dyke' & 'Stake Through The Heart' are back & are now turning to the Wild West to bring you a collection of erotically charged, action-packed tales - this time taking on cowboys, school marms, salesmen, saloon girls, preachers & bank robbers.
Overall an enjoyable book of four stories. I'd say about average for current lesbian books. I didn't particularly enjoy the first story by Therese Szymanski, as I felt it was too disjointed jumping between the past and present, but I did enjoy the other three. Desert Spring by Barbara Johnson is sweet and romantic, even if it did seem to suddenly move forward too quickly in a couple of places. Cowboys and Kisses by Karin Kallmaker is well written and entertaining, but I found it The last story was my favourite - The Sweetheart and the Spitfire by Julia Watts. I found it to be amusing, sweet, and fun. I wished the story was longer.
First three stories were good reads, but couldn't get through the last (The Sweetheart and the Spitfire). I personally think Johnson's Desert Spring was best. Kallmaker's Cowboys & Kisses starts off good, but the ending feels rushed.
