I'll just start by saying that I am totally in love with this series! Funny, sweet, sexy, romantic… the Kowalski Family books have everything I look for in my contemporary romance reads and with All He Ever Needed I got all I ever needed, and more. It’s heartwarming, touching, poignant, hopeful... a truly charming, feel good story.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love these books! Shannon Stacey, time and time again, weaves tales of everyday people with their everyday lives... people just like you and me... and manages to make their stories so fun, so heartwarming and passionate that I can't stop reading! Seriously, from the first page to the last, I just can't put the books down, and such is the case with this book, too.

Mitch and Paige are such fantastic people, each on their own, but when they get together, they are amazing! I fell hard and fast for them both as I giggled and scoffed my way through their efforts to convince themselves, and each other, that they'd be nothing more than bed buddies. And yet, despite their 'sex only' motto, their relationship never felt cheap or shallow to me because Ms. Stacey gives us such insight to them, showing us their hearts and souls and proving that when you find that special someone and let them in, show them your hopes and dreams, anything is possible!

I adore the close-knit Kowalski family and how they are always there for each other, even when things are difficult... heck, especially when things are difficult. Their love, support, devotion... they've got the kind of family I love to see!

Before I close, I want to share one of my favorite scenes from the book. It's a cute, sexy little banter between Mitch, who was still trying to get in Paige's pants, and Paige, who was still trying to convince Mitch - and herself - that she doesn't want him there:
“Men are a luxury, not a necessity.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked, scowling as if the concept was totally foreign to him. Which it probably was.

She moved away from the island and straightened the salt and pepper shakers just to give her hands something to do. “It means I don’t need a man in my life. And I have that written on a sticky note taped to my fridge so I don’t forget it.”

“But you want a man, right?”

She pretended to think about it for a few seconds.“Not especially.”

“Who opens jars for you?”

“I have a little gadget that does that.”

“But…” He grinned. “What about sex?”

“I have a little gadget that does that, too.”

He looked stunned for a few seconds, and then a naughty gleam lit up his blue eyes, and she wondered how the hell she’d gotten herself into this conversation. She was supposed to be letting him know she wasn’t interested — even if it wasn’t precisely true — and somehow she’d ended up talking to him about sex toys?

“I’ve been told,” he said, “that little gadgets aren’t a good substitute for the real thing.”

They weren’t, actually, but she wasn’t about to tell him that.“Maybe whoever told you that wasn’t using the right gadgets.”
The bottom line: If you haven't yet read Shannon Stacey's stories, drop whatever you're doing right now... yes, that means stop reading my review... and pick up book 1 in the series, Exclusively Yours. The beauty of Shannon Stacey's stories is that they are always light, feel good, solid romances with people you can't help but care about and happily ever afters you can't help but cheer for! So what are you waiting for? Stop thinking about it and just do it! If you love contemporary romance as much as I do, you won't be disappointed!

My thanks to netgalley.com and Carina Press for providing me with an ecopy of this book for review. As always, it was a pleasure!

All He Ever Needed is the fourth installment in Shannon Stacey's adult contemporary romance series titled Kowalski Family. Ms. Stacey knows how to write fun and sweet romances for sure. I immediately adored this series when I first discovered it and have been slowly but surely working my way through.

Overall, I liked All He Ever Needed and thought it to be an good addition to the series, but I personally didn't find it to be quite on the enjoyment level of the other ones I have read. It's still sweet and sexy with a few very moving moments, but something was missing - not sure what but I felt it (or didn't feel it rather). I should note that it took me almost an entire month to read this. That's not a negative reflection on the book, it's just how my life has been...not enough time to sit down for a few hours to read (audiobooks have been my best friend lately). Unfortunately, I only had access to the paper copy of this book. This factor may have very well affected my enjoyment, which is why I added a "benefit of the doubt" ½ star to what was going to be a 3 star review. After all, it's not Ms. Stacey's fault my life is crazy right now!

No matter the reason, nothing could stop me from continuing this series. It's one of my favorites! If you like sweet and sexy romances with a ton of humor thrown in then check out the Kowalski Family series!

My favorite quote:
“Honey, love isn't like rappeling into a cave, where you can control your descent and how deep you go. It's just falling into the hole.”

Paige’s trailer isn’t quite this small, but I thought this was adorable.

★★★★✩ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Renee Werbowski is a new to me narrator who I certainly won’t shy away from in the future. She does a nice job of this forth installment of the Kowalski Family series. There aren’t a lot of different characters, or accents, or high emotions to convey; however, I liked her voice and pacing.

This is a sweet story about two average people, but it isn't so unbearably sweet that it made my blood sugar rise too, too much. Sure, Mitch is a hunk, and has a reputation that might not be deserved; Paige stands solidly on her own two feet; but really, they are pretty average.

After not having any growing up, Paige now wants roots. She’s been eschewing men in the few short years she’s been in town, running the local diner. Mitch is free-spirited, riding the country’s roads on his motorcycle, and throwing all his energy into his explosives company. He’s in town to help out his brother, Josh Kowalski, who broke his leg. Josh runs the family lodge, and in Book #6 his love interest is going to be Katie Davis, who owns a barber shop; both have a couple nice scenes together.

There is a lot of everyday life in a small town; you find out who else is having problems and how that affects Mitch and Paige’s relationship. Nevertheless, I like everyday stuff sometimes. I didn’t like All He Ever Needed as much as the other books in the series; but, as Ms. Werbowski was spoon-feeding me while I did my errands, I was a pretty contented camper.

From the lack of character development to the "romance", depressing secondary storylines to the glaring absence of the slightly insane family dynamic you can't help but love and wish you were a part of. It all lacked Stacey's usual humor and sweetness and what makes reading one of her books such an emotionally wonderful and satisfying experience.

Paige and Mitch were decent enough characters and their start had a lot of potential. He avoids putting down roots at all costs and is home just for a couple weeks to help with an injured brother when he meets Paige who is off men, fiercely independent and firmly planted in the small town he tries to avoid. There are some funny moments and smoldering looks there at the start but it just fizzles into a book that focuses more and more on sex for the sake of sex instead of the characters falling in love and growing as individuals.

There was a lot of telling in this book and not nearly enough showing. We constantly hear about Mitch's many, many conquests and how magnificent the man is in bed. And let me just say...EEWWWW. Who wants a hero that's spent time between nearly every pair of thighs in sight? Gleck! I mean, I know a lot of heroes have pasts and have gotten around but we're damn near beat over the head with how much Mitch got around and how it's Paige's turn to get her some good loving and then send him on his way. Very romantic, right? And for all that talk of his godlike sexual talents the intimate scenes are really lackluster and honestly not all that sexy or emotional.

Mitch and Paige felt just like what they were...friends with benefits and nothing more. I never felt them falling in love. There's a lot of inner thought's about how much they like the other. How sweet, caring and wonderful they are but you never actually SEE any of it or what makes them special to each other.

As for the secondary storylines neither really brought out the emotional response I'd imagine they were going for. There's a depressingly sad marriage breaking up because of a decade worth of lies. And a decades long feud that really had no merit since the woman blamed and hated the man for something he really wasn't responsible for.

What I found most disheartening was that after 280ish pages (yeah it's a short book) I really don't feel like I know Mitch or Paige. At all. I never got to the point where I felt invested in them and their future together. It was just a story to read and move on from. A complete opposite of the previous 3 books which are still near and dear to my heart after nearly 10 months. For a huge fan of the series this was a very big let down and aside from Stacey's name being scrawled across the cover I wouldn't believe it was written by the same author I've come to adore. I've got my fingers crossed the next book will bring us back to the feel and heart of the Kowalski family I've loved so much.

Ok, so here's the deal. I LOVE Shannon Stacey. But this book just didn't work for me. I have to say the second half was MILES better than the beginning. I got sick of the constant references to Mitch's past -- I get it. He was a man whore. Let's move on. And why the crap was everyone in the town so happy to be used and tossed away by him??? Couldn't there have been just one woman that was hurt by his wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am treatment? Nope, all those women were telling Paige to "go for it!" it was weird. And uncomfortable. Maybe it's just a me problem -- I have a hard time believing everyone and their dog would be telling a girl who hasn't dated in the two years they have known her, to break her streak with a guy who apparently has slept with everyone. With no hesitation. Maybe I'm just too conservative and have a hard time believing that a girl in this situation would not bring emotions into sex. Like I said, it's a me issue. The themes and topics just pushed a few hot buttons. It was good in the end. I don't know if I'll want to re-read it like I have all of her other books. But I'm excited to read the next few books on the series. So, 3 stars and some hope for more 5 star books in the future.

I've been curious about this branch of the Kowalski clan since the beginning of the series. I'm glad Stacey is writing them now.

As I've said before, I think Stacey does humor and wit very well. I know going into one of her books I'm going to be entertained and immersed in the story. I wasn't disappointed. The banter between Mitch and Paige was flirty and fun, as was the overall tone of their dealings with each other. There was quite a bit of depth, too, in the way they slowly opened up to each other.

Mitch's relationship with his family and his feelings about his hometown were understandable and worked well in the context of the story. The contrast between Paige's love for small-town life and Mitch's frustration with having his every action from birth through college dissected and discussed every time he came to town was played well and served to add believable tension.

Despite that, I was ..not put off, exactly, but a bit disappointed in Mitch's overall attitude about their relationship and Paige's acceptance of his actions. Mitch doesn't want more than a fling.

“This is all there is. We’ll have a good time and enjoy each other’s company and then, when it’s time for me to go, I’ll just say goodbye and be gone. I won’t call. I won’t text. I won’t write.”

Her response was a good one,

“Just so you know,” she said, “once you’re gone, I won’t mope. I won’t text. I won’t sit around restaurants in twenty years reminiscing about the night we spent together.”

but I think she let him get away with too much. His hot and cold attitude started to grate on my nerves, so it had to be grating on hers as well. Yet instead of calling him on it, she brushed it off.

That aside, I loved that she caught herself acting the fool for him and made a conscious effort to stop. She didn't pine after him or let herself build castles in the sky. It was refreshing for a woman to realize that's what she was doing.

While I had a few quibbles, overall I enjoyed the story. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. Now if she would just write a little faster so I could have the next book....

DNF. I tried to pick this back up a couple of times, but just wasn't feeling it between H/h. I made it halfway. It has the makings of a good series (despite being book 4, this book introduces a new town with new characters for future books), but there was so much setup which dragged the first-half down.

As you may have noticed, I've been mainlining Susan Elizabeth Phillips like some crazed smut fiend all summer. Ironically, I started them to fill the time before the next Shannon Stacey book came out. I LOVED the first 3 Kowalski books (Kevin Kowalski, you had me at hello). When I found out Mitch's book was coming out, I preordered it and and even took a nap (a nap!) yesterday so I'd be nice and rested when the book apparated on my Kindle around midnight.

Like the other Kowalski boys, Mitch Kowalski is tall, dark, and FOINE. He's a demolition expert, aka manly man who blows shit up for a living. He travels all over the country for his work and hasn't been back to his tiny hometown in 3 years. Paige Sullivan moved into town 2 years ago, bought the diner, and turned it into a staple in the community. She's been celibate during that time so she could focus on her business and not turn into her man-obsessed mother. Mitch meets Paige, sparks fly, and he's determined to end her celibacy for the brief time he's in town.

So. A few things.

One. Something called a fried bologna sandwich plays a role. Just when I think something that disgusting can't exist in real life, they add mayo to it. MAYO! Mayonnaise is so gross that I'll say "NO MAYO" to things just in case. Spaghetti bolognese please, NO MAYO. I'm not saying it's evil or anything, but I truly believe if mayonnaise didn't exist neither would weapons of mass destruction. So yeah, making me vomit is definitely one of my Oh-No-Nos when reading a romance.

Two. Paige goes from brunette in Chapter 1 (and I'm assuming 2-3) to blonde in Chapter 4. ¿Que? Oh-No-No.

Three. MAYO.

Four. This one felt a little too instalovey without the push-pull, swoontastic tension of the original three books. Also, when a guy or a girl repeatedly says he/she doesn't want a relationship with the dating history to back it up, I expect them to not want a relationship. Like, I don't think George Clooney is unmarried because he just hasn't met The One who can make the perfect sandwich, you know? I needed a little more to be convinced by Mitch and Paige.

However, I still liked this and I think Stacey did a great job at setting the scene for the next two books. I wondered if mainlining SEP altered my taste a little. Did it feel flat because it was or because nothing wacky happened? I read Stacey's novella Slow Summer Kisses before my SEPathon and really, really liked it. I'll test my theory next month when All He Ever Desired comes out, which I'll definitely preorder.

I'm a huge fan of Shannon's Kowalski series, and this one is right up there with my favorites. Mitch and Paige couldn't be more wrong for each other, though they engage in some hot fun, both of them determined to walk away at the end of Mitch's home visit. But two people who are determined not to get involved couldn't be more right for each other. Engaging characters, a wonderful romance and a town filled with secondary characters you want to know more about. And of course, more Kowalskis you can't wait to read about. I loved this book. I felt like I was part of the town and the people who lived in it. Shannon Stacey's books always make me feel right at home, and I want to stay. Another beautiful romance.

Shannon Stacey continues to do an excellent job with Kowalski Family! She continues to bring fun and smart characters within touching and sexy romances.

We first saw Mitch Kowalski in the last book, Yours to Keep and I couldn’t wait to see how the Kowalskis in Maine were going to stake up to the Kowalskis in Connecticut.

I love a story where the guy is a man whore that finally falls in love. Mitch Kowalski is the man whore of his home town, Whitford, Maine. Every since high school Mitch has sown his wild oats with the gals in town. He can’t walk into any public place where he doesn’t hear old stories about his wild times keep the ladies happy.

“Honey, if you got an innie and not an outtie between your legs, he’s interested.”

Mitch has stayed away from Whitford for 3 years because of that very fact. It’s a small town where everyone knows your name and past history. Mitch is back to help his brother, Josh out with the family lodge when he runs into the pretty new owner of the local diner, Paige. Mitch goes into his usually love them and leave them mode. He does all he can to wear Paige down to get her to have a little fun with him while he’s in town for the month or so.

Paige has been turning guys left and right after arriving in Whitford two years ago. She’s doesn’t want to turn into her mother, which is the type of woman who needs a man. Paige puts up a good fight when it comes to Mitch but one thing leads to another and the couple starts spending time together.

“Men are a luxury, not a necessity.”

“But you want a man, right?”

“Not especially.”

“Who opens jars for you?”

” I have a little gadget that does that.”

“But…” He grinned. “What about sex?”

“I have a little gadget that does that, too.”

Since All He Ever Needed had a different narrator I choose to read it instead of listening to the audio book. I missed listening to Lauren Fortgang bring the characters to life. But now I know it’s not just Fortgang’s narration that keeps me coming back to the series. Shannon Stacey’s writing will keep me coming back every time whither I experience it through reading or listening.

I can’t wait to listen to the next book, All He Ever Desired. It’s about Mitch’s brother, Ryan. We found out in All He Ever Needed that Ryan has a bug up his butt about something when he comes home to visit and stays way from town when possible. Mitch thinks it has something to do with Lauren Carpenter and I can’t wait to see what that couple’s story is.

Thanks Angela James for this great read!

Posted on Under the Covers

Work keeps Mitch Kowalski busy and always on the move. It’s the main reason why I guy like him hasn’t settled down yet. But the other reason is simply because Mitch doesn’t want to. He’s a man with a free spirit, the one who simply does as he pleases. But when his brother’s life starts spiraling out of control and their lodge requires his assistance, he takes some time off work to come straighten things out.

This is where he encounters Paige Sullivan, the new diner owner with a cute smile and an even sweeter personality. Paige was a heroine I instantly liked. She was sensible and sweet, while giving Mitch a tease here and there to keep him on his toes.

I definitely enjoyed the chemistry between the two, but there was one thing that really impeded the relationship for me. Living in a small town means that everyone is in your business. I was annoyed by the people who kept trying to coerce Paige into sleeping with Mitch simply because he was interested in her. Mitch also acts this way and he can’t really believe it when Paige continually turns him down. It seemed like a game to me and it took away from of the romantic aspects to the story. Even towards the end, Mitch isn’t 100% ready to commit. That doesn’t scream “meant to be” or “perfect ending” to me. So I was a little disappointed with that.

However, Shannon Stacey continues to charm readers with her characters and wit. She sets up the next character’s stories well. I’m interested in reading Ryan and Josh’s stories!

3.5 stars

I've read the entire Kowalski series so far. I devoured book 1 and gave it a huge five stars. Book 2 received four stars and that was mainly due to my phobia of children in romance stories. And Book 3 was 4.5 stars. The series is awesome. As quoted from my review on Exclusively Yours its "a masterpiece of contemporary perfection."

In All He Ever Needed, I could feel the same mix of great writing and romantic flare, unfortunately it just didn't grab me like the other books in the series. The connection wasn't quite strong enough and I spent the first half of the book wondering when the romance would begin.

I realise the story wasn't meant to be "wham bam, thank you ma'am" but when they were doing their initial flirting I didn't feel dragged into the emotion. I wanted a little more of the lingering looks and sultry smiles.

When I finally reached the 50% mark, that was when the addiction hit. I wanted to devour the rest and in true Shannon Stacey fashion, the story ended with a sigh worthy happily ever after.

Mitch and Paige were both loveable characters. Mitch is your typical town bike. He's been ridden by all the ladies in town and he must be good at it, because they are certainly keen for more. And Paige has the troubled past. I did fall in love with them both, I just would have enjoyed the story a lot more if it concentrated more on their growing connection instead of back story or information about side characters.

All in all, it was an enjoyable read. Smooth and easy, well written and warm. But for me it didn't hit the mark of the first three books in the series.

This book was provided to me by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

I am so excited for Mitch.

That was me all tingly and zestful about Mitch the oldest Kowalski. From book #3 we have learned that he was quite the ladies man who enjoyed no-string meaningless sex very much. So I was very anxious about his HEA because I've always enjoyed the befallen of a bad boy.

About 20% into the book, I was giddy no more. Mitch's POVs about how he liked his women close-enough-to-touch-but-never-too-closely-to-cuddle-afterwards just didn't sit well with me. I sure was not too excited that he had slept with nearly all the girls of his hometown. Quite a stud weren't you, Mitch?

But gradually he redeemed himself by being a responsible brother, a considerate boss and a loving temporary lover. But he was quite daft in the relationship department, absolutely clueless. I wish that SS made him suffer a bit longer at the end though. He deserved a longer and more painful misery before Paige took him back.

Can't wait for Ryan's story next. Hopefully he is not as daft as Mitch.

My Review:
And my love affair with the Kowalski's continues. OMG, I loved this book!! Such an amazing start to the trilogy from the "other" branch of the Kowalski family. These are Sean's siblings from Book #3, Yours To Keep.

This book is about Mitch Kowalski. This branch of the family has five siblings: Liz, Sean, Mitch, Ryan, and Josh. Josh is the youngest and has been left to run the family inn, but he managed to break his leg trying to trim a tree and needs help. Mitch and Ryan both have their own companies and their own reasons for why they never come home, but Josh needs help, so Mitch takes six weeks away to come home. It's been 3 years and he's appalled at how run down the inn and Josh have become, so he quickly calls in Ryan to help too.

Mitch is the Kowalski with the reputation in this tiny town....and it is an incredibly reputation. He has left a string (a very long one) of satisfied women in his wake...he's become somewhat of a legend. Even more amazing about it though is the fact that he's managed to bed all these women and they are still happy with him and about their time together. There are no broken hearts. He's always VERY upfront about what he does and does not want from his girls and they are all very satisfied with what they get. Ahem... He leads an incredibly nomadic lifestyle and he has NO plans to change that or to ever have a bit more in a relationship.

On the flip side of that is Paige. She grew up with a mother who would follow a guy anywhere and sacrifice everything for that. She has decided that no man is worth that. She simply wants a place to live and a town to call home...forever. Her motto is that "guys are a luxury, not a necessity." (I'm paraphrasing that because I don't know if I'll ever find the actual motto in the e-book without reading it all again.) She's abstaining from guys and very happy with that fact, until Mitch.

This story is so much fun, like all of Stacey's stories. In this one, we have the fabulous Kowalski's, but we also have this great little town where everyone is in everyone else's business. There's Katie, the tom-boy barber with a thing for Josh. There's Hailey who's the town librarian and the one who shared the first infamous story with Mitch and has no qualms about pushing Paige into his arms. There's Mallory and Drew who still love each other, but can't find a way past their problems....their story broke my heart and I'm hoping they find a happier resolution in one of the later books. There's Ryan and Lauren and a mystery as to what has happened there and why it's left Ryan where he hates to come home. Then there's Rosie, the Kowalski family surrogate mother and housekeeper, and her issues with Andy...I really liked that story line.

It's just another fun and fabulous installment to this already great series. The e-book comes out September 10th, but I am THRILLED to see that the paperback is coming out December 18th so I can add a copy of it to my "keeper" shelf.

I received a complementary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Excellent book. I loved the New Hampshire Kowalskis and the Maine Kowalskis look like they will be just as fun. Mitch has returned to Whitford to help at the family lodge after being away for three years. He hates coming back because the townspeople never forget that he and his brother were hell raisers when they were younger. It doesn't matter that he owns one of the top demo companies in the country, he's still that Kowalski boy that has a way with girls. He makes no apologies for his actions with women now. He has no intention of settling down any time soon and makes sure that the women he hooks up with know it. He is immediately attracted to Paige and challenged by the fact that she doesn't date and has no desire to get involved with a man. Paige spent her childhood traveling with her mother who was always looking for a man to love and be loved by. She has found a community she can love and where she can put down roots. She has no interest in getting involved with a man who doesn't have any desire to stay in one place. She does eventually decide to take Mitch up on his offer of no strings fun.

I liked the way that the relationship developed. Mitch started out resenting being there but looking at Paige as a fun distraction. Pretty soon his playboy ways were being overshadowed by how good he was at his business, how much he cared about Josh and Rosie, and how good he was with Paige. What he couldn't understand was why she seemed to different. She was constantly in his thoughts, he couldn't wait to see her again and his subconscious kept putting thoughts of forever in his head. Every time that happens he pulls away some, but can't stay away. He was pretty clueless in the relationship department and was stunned when Paige walked away first. Paige really enjoyed being with Mitch including the times out of bed. When she realized she had fallen for him and started thinking about following him when he left, it scared her that she might be thinking about giving up her independence and dreams for a man. So she made the decision to walk away even though it hurt. I loved Mitch's grovelling at the end.

I also loved the secondary characters that were part of the story. I loved the housekeeper Rosie and how she treats the Kowalski guys. The townspeople are wonderful at looking out for each other, but I also love their part in Paige and Mitch's story - especially the stories they tell on Mitch. There's a secondary story with Drew and Mallory that I hope has a happy ending. Of course I'm really looking forward to Ryan and Josh's stories, as I expect them to have their problems too.

Cover & Title - 4 out of 5.
Favorite Line - "Honey, if you got an innie and not an outtie between your legs, he's interested."
Favorite Character - Paige

"Men are a luxury, not a necessity."

Those words are Paige's motto. After witnessing her mom date more men than Paige had, had hot dinners, Paige decided to live things solo.

"Who open's jars for you?"
"I have a little gadget that does that."
"But..." He grinned. "What about sex?"
"I have a little gadget that does that, too."

I loved Paige's personality, she was a fantastic character to read as i liked her a lot.

I really liked this book, it had the perfect mix of sex & humor. The chemistry between Paige and Mitch was blazing, clear for everyone to see & one of the sex scenes in the trailer on the couch was so HOT *fans self*.
I have read the book before this one in this series, so this is my second book by this author. If i am honest i didn't actually like the last book that much, I am not entirely sure what caused the dislike but it certainly was there. Because of this i was surprised that straight away i fell into this book & i was hooked by the story almost instantly. This series all the books are stand-alone's linked by the fact one of the leads are part of the Kowalski family.

"I want to be a necessity" <3 *Swoon*

I would recommend this book & I want to read the rest of the books in the series.

If you like contemporary romance and you haven't met Shannon Stacey's Kowalski Family series, what are you waiting for? The Kowalski family are just plain fun. You'll either want to be adopted by them, or marry one of them, after reading Exclusively Yours, the first book in the series. (I wasn't all that fond of book number two, Undeniably Yours, but I loved Yours to Keep, book three)

Ms. Stacey really needs to do a family tree of the Kowalskis, just so we can keep everyone straight. Sean, the hero of Yours to Keep, is the brother of Mitch, the "He" in the title of All He Ever Needed. Joe and Kevin, the heroes of the first two books, are their cousins. It's all one big mostly happy family.

In All He Ever Needed, Ms. Stacey tells the kind of story she does best, a contemporary romance about two adults who have loved and lost and need to find their way through a little bit of pain to a place where they can find their happily ever after in a small town that's willing to become their home.

In this case, it's Mitch Kowalski, home to take care of his brother Josh and help fix up the family B&B in Whitford, Maine. A town where everyone remembers every girl Mitch ever kissed (or more) and every prank he ever pulled. Mitch owns his own company now but no one in Whitford ever seems to remember that. He's back until they get the family's Northern Star Lodge and Josh back on their respective feet.

Paige Sullivan owns the Trailside Diner. Her car broke down in Whitford, and she just stayed. She's finally found a place where she belongs, just for herself. Owning the diner has made her put down roots, and she believes it's kept her from becoming the kind of woman her mother is, chasing one man after another, suppressing her own personality to fit whoever she thinks she loves.

Mitch figures that while he's in town he'll have a fling with someone, on his usual terms, no strings, no ties, no tears when he leaves.

Paige doesn't date. Not anyone. Not in the entire two years she's been in Whitford.

Mitch tempts her off the wagon. After all, they both know the rules. Until they both break them.

Escape Rating A: If you love small-town romances, or even think you might, get Shannon Stacey. If you liked any of the first series, you'll love this one. Whitford is a terrific place, and she's started a whole bunch of interesting stories that I can't wait to find out how they resolve. But this one, this one was just so good. Paige has made a good life for herself, and you can see how she wants to make it work. Mitch has been running so fast, he doesn't know what he really wants. Their chemistry absolutely sizzles and steams, but they take it slow, and for good reasons. Everyone knows the name of every girl Mitch ever slept with in town, and they're all still smiling. Readers will be smiling at the end of the book, too.

I want to find out how the other stories in town turn out. All He Ever Desired and All He Ever Dreamed are coming out in October and November so I thankfully won't have long to wait.

I have read a couple of the Kowalski series book but not all. The ones I have read i have enjoyed though. All He Ever Needed is book 4 in this series. Mitch Kowalski was a little too frisky in his youth. Add to that that he and his brothers were always getting into trouble and the town of Whitford never forgets his transgressions. Mitch comes home to help out his brother Josh who broke his leg and is laid up with a cast. He finds out the lodge he and his siblings own together, but Josh runs is in bad need of repair. He's home for the next 6 weeks to see what he can do. In the mean time he also meets Paige Sullivan. She bought the diner in town which was closed down the last time Mitch was in town 3 years ago. Now it seems to be doing well with Paige at the helm. Paige's car broke down in Whitford, MA two years ago and the people were so nice she decided to stay. She's been doing well for herself and has a no man needed philosophy. Unfortunately when Mr. no commitment Mitch Kowalski walks into her diner she's not so sure she can keep that up.

Mitch doesn't commit ever. He came really close once and that ended in disaster so he's not going there again. He's always up front with the ladies and they always part on happy terms. Paige is different. She resists his charms even when she really wants him. Her mother always bounced from man to man. Always needing one to be happy and so Paige is turned off men and relationships. They seem to dance around each other for much of the book and it's funny to watch Mitch have to be the pursuer when he is usually the one being pursued. Paige sticks to her guns for a long time until she decides two years is long enough a dry spell. She wants Mitch but doesn't want a commit either so why not. Problem is no matter how hard they try to keep it casual it's nothing but. For once too Mitch isn't the first one to walk away. The one thing that bugged me a bit is Mitch is really portrayed as a horn-dog basically. I'm not sure if i was Paige if i would want anything to do with Mitch after hearing from all over town about his sexual escapades even though many of them are embellished. Mitch though has grown up and no matter how successful he is in life the town can't seem to let his sins of the past go. Like how this played out. Little different way than they usually go but enjoyable because of it. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for All He Ever Needed by Shannon Stacey.

The first three books of Shannon Stacey’s Kowalski series cemented my spot as an adoring fan-girl! This fun-loving family from New Hampshire captured my heart from the very first page of Exclusively Yours! And now, the Kowalski Family is back – although it’s the cousins (Sean’s brother) in Maine this time! A chance to explore another branch of the family, with new and endearing characters!

I have to say, before I jump into my gush-fest review, that I am a bit sad we didn’t get to see the New Hampshire Kowalski’s or even and update or mention of Kevin and Joe and how their stories turned out. (Which is one of the reasons I really love series romance like this…) We did get a quick mention of Sean and Emma (but no details! I want details!!) Now that I’ve got that out of my system? Time to resume my regular scheduled gushing!

Shannon Stacey’s writing is fabulous, she has a way of making you feel like you’re in Whitford. (In fact, I’m craving a burger from the Trailside Diner now!) Her writing gives me such a vivid picture of what is happening, it’s more like watching a movie than reading a book and really reminds me of why I love reading in the first place.

Mitch Kowalski reminds me of my best friend in a lot of ways. (And while I read a few reviews saying that people didn’t like that his man-whoring ways seemed to be unrealistic? To me, I’ll be honest – since he doesn’t read this – his past relationships reminded me a LOT of my friend. Entering into a fling with both parties knowing and accepting it’s just temporary.) So I think I fell in love with Mitch right away, for that relation alone. (Although my love was more platonic and brotherly than my head over heels infatuation with his brother and cousins!)

And Paige? For once I was honestly rooting for the Hero to pick her (rather than me, as I usually silently hope for!) She was great, and her inner turmoil with relationships was understandable and made me sympathetic towards her. I was so happy that she’d found her happily ever after that included a cozy new town to call home!

I will definitely be tuning in (ASAP) for Ryan’s story when it comes out in a few weeks!!

The story of a man who does not want to settle down and a woman who's desperate to do just that.

Mitch and Paige meet right after Mitch returns to town to help his injured brother with the family inn, and sparks start flying between them straight away.

Sparks or not, Paige does not intend to start anything with him, content with her life as it is and unwilling to muddle things with a man.

He is very persuasive however, and the two start a fling that was supposed to be no strings or emotions attached.

Neither of them manages to stick to that rule though, and it will take them both overcoming their issues before they can reach their happily ever after.

Enjoyable story with likable characters. Next in the series comes Ryan's story in All He Ever Desired.

I really liked this book...I understand Mitch and the things he don't like about a small town where everybody knows everything about everybody..I come from a very small place myself and I don't know shit about all the other people...so does places like this really exist?

I felt sorry for him always being judged because of things he did as a teenager, and it was so sweet watching him falling in love not knowing that's what he did...for once the denial of loving somebody actually made sense..

Paige was a sweetheart a bit jaded from her upbringing but aware of it and working thru it..

I think this series get better and better...I was a bit confused in the beginning though...is the first two books about cousins to Mitch? I think I need to reread them..I have a lousy memory when it comes to things like this..I always have trouble when reading a series when I have to wait for books to be released...

This was the perfect book to read while laying in the sun on my mini vacation! :-)

I've been interested in the swoon worthy Mitch Kowalski since I first met him in previous books! He definitely lived up to his reputation! I really enjoyed this story. I felt bad for the way Paige grew up and completely understood her 'No Men' policy. I enjoyed how she put Mitch off as long as she could. He definitely need to be humbled in the lady department! lol The characters were great and the story flowed very nicely. I liked how the author set us up for the next two Kowalski boys too! ;)

4.5 stars. All He Ever Needed is a fantastic addition to the Kowalski Family series. The characters are appealing and well-developed. The conflict between Mitch and Paige is realistic and they solve their problems with very little angst or drama. To read my review in its entirety, please click HERE.

I really like Shannon Stacey but this Kowalski, although he was hot and rode a Harley, was a bit of a bore when compared to his cousins. The only conflict in this story was exclusive to the secondary characters, mainly Mitch's brothers. I'm looking forward to reading their stories.

DNF'd at 50%.

I don't know what it is - maybe the audiobook narrator? - but I tried a couple of times to get thru this and just didn't care. I'd put it down and be reluctant to pick it up again. The characters are good, the plot is interesting enough . . . but it didn't inspire me to care one whit about any of them.

I think it was probably the narration by Renee Werbowski. She's a good narrator, but I think this may be a case of her voice being at a pitch that's really soothing. Her voice-acting was good - not exceptional, but certainly good. But between that and the actual story, I was just bored.

Again, I'm not sure it's the book here. It might be just me and my mood. But I don't think this one was for me.

2.5/5 (C-)

I read and enjoyed previous installments in this series, but I didn't love them like the majority from whom I read reviews. And once again, I'm most probably going to be in the minority where it concerns All He Ever Needed.

Overall, the story was okay. I mean, when it came to the romance, there wasn't much we haven't seen. The hero wants a fling, the heroine succumbs, they have a good time but eventually realize what they have is more. As a secondary storyline, you have the Northern Star Lodge that is not really doing well financially which brings back another of their brother, Ryan, to check it out. While in truth, Josh is just tired of taking care of it, being the youngest, he was kind of stuck with the lodge while his older siblings got to spread their wings and do what they wanted. In that sense, I do think the older siblings were a bit selfish, just assuming Josh liked taking care of the lodge. Then again, Josh is old enough to express his opinions and could have voiced his displeasure earlier. There were a few more storylines such as the part-time lodge housekeeper's 26 years feud with a friend of her late husband... but the most interesting one involved Mitch's best friend, Drew Miller who is the sheriff. He and his wife are going through a rough patch, because Drew wants to have children and his wife doesn't. As I said, the situation is quite interesting and the arguments on both sides make sense. The problem though is what the wife doesn't understand is that Drew is not choosing hypothetical kids over their years of marriage, what he can't get past is having been lied to for his entire marriage. Definitively not a clear cut, but I can still take side :)

So what was my issue with All He Ever Needed? Basically, Mitch's behavior. There's something about his attitude that just rubbed me wrong... and I know I'm in the minority here, but please, just hear me out. I was fine with the fact that Mitch wanted to have a fling, six weeks of pure fun and something temporary. My problem was he saw Paige, was attracted and wanted to have the fling with her. He was warned very early that Paige haven't been out with any guy for two years, and still, he set his cap on her... and when she turned him down, he still pursued her. Ultimately, it felt to me like he was forcing his agenda on her. It's one thing if she had jumped in on the fling, but she didn't. She didn't want to get involved and he still pursued her. Why not respect her decision, her choice? Sure, they found each other attractive, but that didn't mean they had to act on it. They wanted different things... So why did he keep pursuing her? As I said, it'd be different if he wanted something more than just sex, but that was his motive. It just felt disrespectful to me. From the beginning, it felt like he's been after a conquest. He came into town knowing he'd be there for 6 weeks and decided he wanted someone warming his bed and Paige would be it. It just didn't work for me.

I know All He Ever Needed is a contemporary romance novel, so yes, the H/H have to get together for this book to work out, but deep down, I really wanted Paige to stick to her gun, turn him down and not succumb. Why do heroines, when they know full well they're not made for flings, still go for them? Does this really reflect reality? Something else that really bothered me was everyone in Paige's surroundings having an opinion about whether or not she should get with Mitch. I know this is a small town and there's no privacy and people are noisy, but still... This was taking it a bit too far for my taste.

Otherwise, Mitch and Paige's characters were okay. They liked and wanted different things, but could compromise. But really, this book just didn't do it for me and when Paige and Mitch got their HEA ending... I didn't feel like cheering. For now, I also doubt I'll be picking the subsequent books.

My Grade: 2.5/5 (C-). As I said, this book didn't work for me, but that's really because from the start, Mitch's behavior rubbed me the wrong way. However, from all the favorable reviews for All He Ever Needed I've read on blogland, I seem the only one who had this reaction. So if you had enjoyed Ms Stacey's books previously, you should give this one a try :)

Review originally posted here: http://thebookpushers.com/2012/09/12/...

I adore Shannon Stacey and the Kowalski boys. When I first found Stacey and this series, I was immediately hooked. I feel in love with her writing and the series, and find myself constantly waiting for the next book to release. When I saw Mitch’s story come through my email for review, I jumped on it and started reading immediately.

Mitch is always on the go, but when his brother breaks a leg and needs help at the family lodge he returns home on a semi-permanent basis. While Mitch expected everyone in town to start gossiping about him, the last thing he expects is to fall for the one woman who seems to be able to resist all his charms. But Mitch isn’t known for having feelings, instead he is the easy-going “fun” guy who is known for showing the ladies a good time.

Paige is looking to settle down and stay in town for life, so when Mitch’s reputation precedes him, she does her best to steer clear. Despite the attraction, she doesn’t want to do with any fallout from a relationship Mitch, and despite his advances, does a pretty good job of keeping them as friends. But Mitch is persistent, and Paige isn’t completely immune. When their affair heats up to epic proportions, will they be able to sustain the romance. Or will Mitch desire to leave, and Paige’s desire to stay keep them apart?

There were so many things I enjoyed about this book, namely the fact that poor Mitch was so misunderstood by his hometown. All he wanted was the chance to come home and be the successful businessman he had made of himself, and instead he had to deal with lies and rumors and innuendo. While I’m sure he didn’t do much to discourage that image in his younger years, it was obvious that it had come back to bite him in the ass, and he was paying for it. Reading about his struggles with dealing with the past and discomfort with being at home was refreshing. I love when the hero has to struggle with decisions he’s made in his past, and poor Mitch had lots to struggle with.

I also really enjoyed Paige, I felt for her and her desire to stay in one place. It was obvious that although she had some strong attraction to Mitch, she wasn’t willing to give up her goals of staying and belonging in town for a night of passion. Especially when everyone could give her, in detail, what that passion would entail. I felt bad for her having to constantly muddle through the BS and drama that Mitch carried with him, especially once she was committed to being with him.

The romance between these two was great. So much of the book was spent with the two of them dancing around each other, feeling each other out as friends before jumping into anything physical or serious. I especially loved that Mitch was the one who was constantly seeking out Paige, despite his assurances to himself and everyone else that their relationship wasn’t serious. I have such a soft spot for heroes who have to chase after their leading lady, and Mitch had to chase. While the end of the book almost had me in tears, I could see what Stacey ended it the way she had to. And despite my growing desire to throttle Mitch, I was so happy with how it was all resolved.

I’m anxious for the next set of Kowalski brothers to get their books, especially since we got to meet and spend so much time with them. I love the sense of family that is so strong in this series. I adore the comradery between brothers and the relationship they have with their housekeeper and surrogate mother. I can’t wait for Stacey to explore that more and paint an even more vivid picture of their everyday lives at the lodge.

All in all I was so pleased with the next installment of the Kowalski series. Stacey continues to deliver strong heroes, incredible heroines, and a romance that is fun and engaging and sexy and a wonderful reading experience. Mitch and Paige were an excellent couple to kick off the next trilogy, and I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
I give All He Ever Needed an A-

Mitch Kowalski heads a well respected demolition company and often finds himself on the road, supervising the next big building he is going to take down. This suits him just fine though. He has left plenty of stories behind in his hometown of Whitford, Maine as he bedded many ladies as a younger guy, and left a good impression.

“Half the women in this town have had you and want you again, and the other half want to know what the fuss is about.”

Oh Mitch, you naughty boy. Unfortunately for Mitch, whenever he comes home for a visit (which is rare) all everyone talks about are his wild days of his youth. It gets old quick. But with a brother who just broke his leg, and is trying to run the family owned inn, Mitch decides to take a much needed vacation from work and come home to help his brother out. What he finds is an Inn that is in disrepair and a brother who needs a major attitude adjustment. But he also finds a new pretty lady that owns and works at the local diner.

Paige came into town two years ago after receiving some inheritance money. A spur of the moment decision, she decided to buy the diner and trailer right behind it and have a new start in life. What she found was a wonderful town, that welcomed her heartily. She now has great friends, a thriving business and she couldn’t be happier. Well, she has not dated since moving to town, having lived with a mother who put more stock on a man, rather than her own life. So Paige might be a little lonely in the romance department, but she would rather be living her own life, than trying to change for a man. That is until she is greeted by Mitch’s charming, flirtatious smile.

This is just an adorable book about two people who flirt and dance around each other before Mitch, finally (and I mean finally, because Paige really makes him work for it) breaks down Paige’s defense and gets in her pants. He also becomes a good friend of hers, and they enjoy spending time together. Even with the entire town watching and gossiping, they go for it. And it is so cute.

While this book has a great romance (and super sexy…oh Mitch) this book also has such a great small town setting. We meet Mitch’s brothers Josh (the one with the broken leg who is super cranky) and Ryan (he builds very large houses) and their surrogate mother of sorts Rosie (who whips those boys into shape and I loved every second of it). Paige has girlfriends, Mitch has guy friends, and every scene is filled with really fun characters and a glimpse into this small town life. Although Mitch gets annoyed with the constant gossip about his wild past, he is a very good natured guy. He is so charming, and hard working and while he loves the chase of getting Paige, he also treats her well. While they do the whole, ‘let’s just have sex, no strings attached’ it works well for me here because they both fall hard with the strings.

This is a theme we have all probably read before. Heroine with crappy parents fears commitment, meets a hero from out of town. What happens next we can all guess. But Shannon Stacey writes such fun, warm characters with the back drop of a great small town, that I was totally engrossed in it. Plus all those gossipy stories about Mitch being good in bed – totally true. We gets lots of sexy times, even one with whip cream.

When she reached out and smeared it down the rigid length of him, his breath hissed through his teeth and his hands curled into fists. Paige only had to shift a little to get her dessert.

Damn, I want Mitch for dessert too!

Another installment in the Kowalski family. I love the Kowalski family. Every book makes me feel like I know these people, they are such a close knit family and every story is a good one, even though the endings are always predictable.

This one is about Mitch Kowalski. He has his own demolition company and for the next six weeks, he's going home to the lodge because his brother had broken his leg and needs some help around the place. Once he gets there, he notices the place has been let go a little bit; the steps need replaced, the paint is chipping, and he wonders if his brother is keeping his head above water. He hasn't visited in almost 3 yrs., and when he gets into town, Rosie, (the housekeeper at the lodge, but more importantly, like a mother to all 5 Kowalski children as their mother passed when they were young) is really excited to see him back.

He ends up at the local diner for a meal. He notices it's been reopened by a woman named Paige. He is immediately attracted to her, and with him being in town for the next six weeks, he sets his sights on spending some quality time with her.

Paige is familiar with the name Mitch Kowalski. Their name is infamous in this small town where everybody knows everything about everyone. And Mitch is known as the love them and leave them kind of guy, but in a way that works for the women, because he lets them know upfront that he's not the stay around kind of guy. Paige has made a name for herself in this small town. Using some money left to her from one of her mother's many boyfriends over the years, she broke down here in Maine a few years ago and because of the hospitality of the people who live there, she decided to buy the trailer behind the closed diner and the diner and make a place to call her own. Because her mother could never be without a man, Paige has made it a point to do what she wants with her life, and not let a man dictate it, or God forbid, leave everything she's made for herself to chase after one. But once she sees Mitch, there is a shift in the way she thinks.

At first they agree to be friends w/ benefits for the next month that Mitch is there; no strings attached, just lots of fun. But somewhere along the way, they both end up falling for each other, even though neither of them is big enough to admit it.

We also have supporting characters. The town police chief, Drew, who is also Mitch's best friend, is breaking up w/ his wife Mallory, because after 10 years of marriage has announced to him that she has no intention of having children. And Rosie, who has a secret that stems over 26 yrs. involving Andy, who the guys hired as a handyman to fix up the lodge. Rosie won't as much as speak to him and no one knows why. So there are a couple of stories within the story to follow as well.

And there is also the question as to whether or not the family will keep or sell the lodge, after finding out that Josh, the youngest Kowalski, basically took over after his brothers and sisters went their separate ways and he was left to run the place w/ his Dad until he passed away. Now he feels as though the place is a thorn in his side that he never had the chance of getting away from and doing his own thing.

How will it all end? You'll have to read it to find out. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
