Ethan Riggs is in love with a woman he can’t have, and it’s driving him out of his mind.
She’s his best friend’s secret crush and his adopted family’s adored baby sister, which locks her in the look-but-don’t-touch category. It was easy to deny his attraction while she was away at veterinary school. But now that she’s back, the temptation’s growing stronger, and a man can only resist for so long before he finally claims what he wants.
Doctor Louise Phillips doesn’t have time for a man. Between her work at the animal hospital and helping her sister on the family farm, she barely has time for sleep. But when a rare night out turns into an evening in the slammer, it’s Ethan she calls for help. He’s a great guy—and seriously hot—but he’s never shown any interest in her beyond friendship. But now that he’s agreed to help her beat the charges, working closely with him is giving her ideas. Sexy, sweaty ideas.
But Ethan has secrets buried deep in his past, and he hates the thought of Louise looking at him with pity—or worse, disappointment. Unfortunately, secrets have a nasty habit of coming out when they’re least expected. When Louise learns the truth, will she stand by her man or kick him to the curb?
*Please when the clothes come off, the bedroom door stays open. Also, characters use profanity, because sometimes, “gosh darn it, you big meany-head” just doesn’t cut it.
Most definitely a book worth 5 stars and worth reading!! This is the third book in the series Southern Alphas. I found the story solid and flowed so smoothly! I love all the characters in this series, but Louise and Ethan are great! As with any romance there are ups and downs and mistakes made etc., and after Ethan makes a big one he finally opens up to Louise about his past and as painful as it is he'd rather do that than lose her! Now that is soooo.... sweet!!! I love a HOT Alpha man who can do that!! I can't wait for the next book in the series, Denied, which is Shane's story. I was going to ask when he was going to have his story, and now my question has been answered! That is so awesome!!!!!
I just finished Book Three of Lori Sjoberg's Series Devoted. I also read Book One Driven and Book Two Fractured. She did a fantastic job of connecting the flow of each book. I can't wait for the next book Denied. I hope I don't have to wait too long for Book Four. Loved her writing.
Louise is the youngest sibling in the Phillips clan. She’s finished vet school and is now working at a wildlife refuge. One night out with friends, unwanted advances from a guy and Louise finds herself in jail. She calls the one person she believes can help her, Ethan Riggs. A lawyer who works with her brother in law, Mason.
Louise feels as if her family has systematically continued to interfere in her life, making decisions for her rather than to include her or let her make them. This story has two themes, one Louise trying to claim her life, with the rights of making decisions for herself. Two, Ethan and Louise finding their way to a life they didn’t expect to find together. Yes, Ethan has had a crush on Louise for a long time but family and friendships had dictated that he leave her in the “friend” domain. Now that things have shifted, he is faced with a bigger demon, his own past. Can he trust her with where he comes from and will she accept him once she knows the truth.
I have enjoyed all three of these book for different reasons. All of the Phillips family members have had a different set of challenges that have made them who they are and set the stage for the next stages of their lives. I’m very excited for book 4, the epilogue at the end of book 3, well, I didn’t see that coming.
I received a copy of Devoted by Lori Sjoberg in exchange for an honest review. Note: this review contains spoilers! Ethan Riggs is a lawyer for the company run by Mason Falco and has been best friends with Mason's brother Shane for years. There is only one problem: both Ethan and Shane want the same woman. Louise Phillips Is Mason's sister-in-law and the men have known her for about five years. They have agreed to both leave her alone, but Ethan can't do it. When Louise calls him from jail, he runs to bail her out. She had slugged Tom Newton after he grabbed her ass, which was justified and witnessed by multiple people, by Tom is the son of the Speaker of the House and feels that he is entitled to do what ever he wants. Luckily Ethan knows a lot of lawyers and the one representing Louise has her file a sexual assault charge against Tom. Rather than have that on his record, Tom agrees to drop the charges against Louise. But he isn't finished with her or the Falco company. As Ethan tries to protect Louise and find a way show her how much he loves hers her, Tom is making everyone's lives miserable and Louise keeps getting mad at Ethan for taking action without consulting her. Devoted is a fast paced story of love, corruption, and belonging. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Wow....what a way to continue this series! ! ! So well written you just can't put it down.......
Louise the veterinarian, and the sister to Kayla (Driven) and Carter (Fractured) who finds Ethan, the attorney for her brother in law's company really HOT but he has never showed any interest in her other than friendship until......she has a rare night out with her girlfriends and ends up in jail. She calls Ethan to help her out of this mess she finds herself in and he comes to her rescue.
Ethan on the other hand has always felt drawn to Louise but because of his messed up childhood thinks she will run the other way. As he helps her find another attorney to helps her since her arrest along with him, he becomes more enamored with Louise and will do anything to show her how he feels except he will not discuss his past.....
Can these two find their way to each other or will they end up just friends????
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. You got to know Ethan and Louise in both Driven and Fractured and I was very excited to read their own story in Devoted. The attraction between the two is obvious from the start but the relationship that they develop over time is amazing. Once again Lori Sjoberg has drawn me into her characters and I felt lost once I have finished the book. You will not be disappointed in this book or any from the Southern Alphas Series
I really like this book, there are characters in it from the two previous books which helps with the continuity and depth, but it is a stand-alone story. It's a gentle love story with a bit of character back story. I can't wait for the next book. This is part of Kindle Unlimited so good value.
Bought the book to finish the series; this is my honest review -A bit too many open door scenes but Ethan is a great lover nonetheless. -I never understood why, while undressing, people would drag the belt through the loops instead of just unbuckling it. Why go to the trouble if you can get the pants off faster? -Ethan and Louise go through a bit of roller-coaster as they navigate their new found lust. -Shane has no shame. He did not help at all and now I understand why not everything is up and up with these three in the 4th book. -I didn't think it was fair to Ethan for Louise to say that Ethan had kept a secret from her; previously she had cut him off when he tried to explain his history. She brings the problem back a second time too so I dropped a star. Did the author forget???? "How long were you planning to keep..." "It means a lot to me that you finally..." Sorry but no, that's just unfair. -I thought Louise was a bit too much of the "I'll do it myself" kind of girl and it got irritating. -Really loved the moments with the animals. Delaney is a hoot and a great support.
Ethan Riggs has secretly loved Doctor Louise Phillips for a lifetime, but his best friend Shane also wants her. When Louise is arrested for decking a creep who groped her, she called her friend Ethan to bail her out.
Lots of competition between the two friends, secrets from Ethan's past and revenge by the creep all conspire to make for a rocky path to a relationship between Ethan and Louise.
I love how the author keeps the story line going with the previous characters. They are very involved in each story. Ethan Riggs knows his feeling towards Doctor Louise Phillips but for years it has been look don't touch. What is a man to do? Go after he wants at the risk of loosing a friendship or let it be. Doctor Louise Phillips is one touch women growing up on a farm I guess you would have to be. Fate beings the two together as she trust Ethan to help he out of a sticky situation. But with all trust with friendship throw some romantic feelings of course there will be some ups and downs. Just takes some time and communication to take get on the right track.
Another good read I book 3. You might wish to read the previous two books to know who is who. This one is about Louise, who works hard to get through vet school, and help with the horses on her family ranch. She's an independent woman, and has two of her brother in law associates wanting her attention.
Didn’t like the h much. She was ok in beginning but started getting annoying about halfway thru book. Plus, there was drama with the H’s best friend (next book about him) and another guy in book and I’m not into “drama”. I enjoy feel good books more. There was a HEA but about 75% in I started skimming.
I'm still really enjoying this series. I liked Ethan and Louise, and the connection between them worked well. As with previous books, we had plenty of story without going overboard. It was a good enjoyable read.
I enjoyed Ethan and Louise’s story. I liked both characters and how Louise was quick to forgive Ethan when he explained what he had been hiding about his childhood. It was nice to see the other couples from earlier books again.
Omg i think this has been my favourite story so far. I love the chemistry between Louise and Ethan. And some of the steamy scenes!!! Lori is such a good writer and leaves you wanting to read more. I couldnt put this down!!
Thank you for a great read. Onto the next in the series.
Louise is Kayla and Carter's youngest sibling. She has now finished veterinary school and is working at a wildlife refuge. She gets in some trouble and needs a lawyer so calls Mason's best friend Ethan. He gets her out of trouble and the story goes from there. There is a lot of intrigue and then stuff going on at the farm also. This series needs to be read in order because the characters are from the previous books. I am so enjoying reading this series. On to the next book now.
I received this ARC for free for a honest review. This story is devoted to Ethan and Louise. While Louise and Ethan have known each other as friends from Louise's sisters husband, Mason. It's been a given that Ethan and Shane (Mason's brother) are only friends. The story starts off with Ethan bailing Louise out of jail. Ethan is so enthralled with Louise and is having a hard time just staying friends with her. My interest was so inspired with reading this book, I had a hard time putting it down. Can't wait til the next book! Lori Sjoberg writes a great book.
The always composed Ethan has secrets to hide. Louise deserves better, she's warm, caring, and independent. Will she accept the man under the carefully built, cool exterior? You will love seeing how the real Ethan reveals himself. These two are smart, serious career people who respect each other and the friendship they've developed. I love this series and the fact that the characters are true to themselves and don't play games, they tell it like it is, and you can't help but wish you could hang out with them.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is engaging, and well written. Ethan is extremely lovable, he thinks his background will turn Louise away, but it's not so terrible, and it doesn't bother her at all when he finally has to tell her about it. A pleasant read, perfect for a lazy afternoon. I have enjoyed all three book in the series so far, and am looking forward to Shane's story.
As with the first book and the 2nd in this series this book was really good but something was missing in it. The author hit on all points that I look for but the book to me felt like it was forced.
However this book will make anyone a good summers read.
Louise will make you yell at the book at times. Lol
Another fantastic book by Lori. I'm so happy Louise and Ethan were able to get past the friend stage and move forward. And Shane finally stepped back and let things move forward. Loved it.
I really enjoyed this entire series. I loved how what you already knew about the characters was built upon in each of the subsequent novels. Great writing style, lots of thought to detail.
