Always an adventurer in life as well as writing, New York Times best-selling author Cherry Adair moved halfway across the globe from Cape Town, South Africa to the United States in her early years to become a interior designer. Now a resident of the Pacific Northwest she shares the award- winning adventures of her fictional T-FLAC counter terrorism operatives with her readers.

Cherry settled in beautiful San Francisco, where she started what eventually became a thriving interior design business. "I loved being a designer because it was varied and creative, and I enjoyed working with the public." A voracious reader when she was able to carve out the time, Cherry found her brain crowded with characters and stories of her own. "Eventually," she says, "the stories demanded to be told."

When asked why she chooses to write romantic action adventure, she says, "Who says you can’t have adventure and a great love life? Of course if you’re talking about an adventurous love life, that’s another thing altogether. I write romantic suspense coupled heart-pounding adventure because I like to entertain, and nothing keeps readers happier than a rollercoaster read, followed by a happy ending."

Popular on the workshop circuit, Cherry gives lively classes on writing and the writing life. Pulling no punches when asked how to become a published writer, Cherry insists, "Sit your butt in the chair and write. There's no magic to it. Writing is hard work. It isn't for sissies or whiners."

Cherry loves to spend time at home. A corner desk keeps her focused on writing, but the windows behind her, with a panoramic view of the front gardens, are always calling her to come outside and play. Her office has nine-foot ceilings, a fireplace, a television and built-in bookcases that will house approximately 3,500 paperback books.

"What can I say? My keeper shelf has been breeding in the middle of the night, rather like drycleaners' wire clothes hangers.”

I needed a fast-paced, high adventure read right now and I got one. One thing I can always count on Cherry Adair for is a book that doesn't disappoint in the romance - suspense - adventure.

Isis Magee's cousin, Acadia, is married to Zak Stark, owner of Loadstone - a finder of lost things outfit. She has something she wants them to find - Cleopatra's Tomb. Her father's disgraced reputation is at stake. What Isis doesn't realize is that her heart will also be at stake.

Connor Thorne is on medical leave recuperating from near-death injuries from his job as an MI5 agent. He is working for Loadstone because when he woke up from his coma, he had the power to locate things he touched. Anywhere in the world. No travel or getting shot at required. Isis walks into his office, and he doesn't need his new power to tell him this job is going to be trouble of the personal and professional kind.

Isis's father, a disgraced archologist, claims to have found Cleopatra's Tomb, for like the fifth time. No one believes him and since he was attacked and later developed Alzheimer, his creditability is shot. But Isis believes him but has little to go on but the firm belief that this time he really did find the tomb and a beautiful scarab he gave her.

The last place Connor wants to go is Egypt where he got gutted, shot and left for dead. But he just can't seem to let the lovely Isis do this on her own. So, they embark on a mission to restore her father's reputation by find Cleopatra's Tomb only to be chased and shot at and to realize that there are some very powerful people who are willing to kill them to keep them from making the discovery.

In an effort to fulfill her archeologist father's ambition of discovering the lost tomb of Cleopatra, Isis Magee hires the services of Lodestone agent, Connor Thorne. As a former MI5 operative recovering from life-threatening injuries, Thorne is no stranger to the perils of the desert. But even he is not prepared for the seductive allure of Isis as the two travel from Seattle to London to Cairo in pursuit of an elusive treasure.

The previous book in the series was highly disappointing and led me to postpone reading this installment, which is unfortunate as Adair is back on track with an engaging couple, steamy romance and action-packed story.

Isis is a slightly scatterbrained heroine who charms the pants (literally) off the more serious and stern Thorne. Their chemistry is incendiary and their banter is witty and delightful.

The Egyptian setting is one of my favorites and the plot surrounding nefarious antiquities dealers and the search for Cleopatra's lost resting place is well-researched, fast paced and entertaining. My one small caveat is that the resolution is rather anti-climactic and would have been better with

In sum, an enjoyable addition to the series and I look forward to reading the final book, which will apparently provide some much needed closure regarding Zak Stark's missing brother, Gideon.

I went into this book expecting nothing because the last few books of this author have been a bust for me so imagine my surprise when this turned out to be so good. A constant edge of the seat thriller, the action never stopped. The hero is a MI5 and recent Lodestone operative recovering from his injuries courtesy of a brutal torture. The heroine is his new client and she wants to find Cleopatra's tomb for her father, who chased it for decades. The chemistry between the characters is explosive and what I loved was that the hero didn't have to be kicked on his head in the end to give in to his feelings, he just knew and capitulated.

Well I need a shower. Cherry writes the kind of heroine I love - a strong kickass woman who takes no guff. Isis does that for me. Thorne doesn't know what he's gotten himself into. The descriptions of Egypt don't exactly make me want to rush over - hot, dust, thirsty, scorpions, but it all felt like I was there. For an action packed adventure, don't miss this one!

As much as it pains me to say this, I just am not a huge fan of this book. I read the ARC so it’s feasible that some last minute changes were made in order to fix some of the issues, but since I don’t have time to read the finished copy, I’m going to just call it like I see it based on what I read.

Isis is intent on proving her wayward archaeologist father found Cleopatra’s lost tomb and she’s coerced Conner into coming along for the ride using what little money she has left to hire the Lodestone agent to help her track her fathers last movements. Her father safely tucked away in a nursing home suffering from dementia from a blow to the head in an attack that left only him alive on his last dig….the one where he claims to have found the tomb. Isis is stubborn and gets what she wants out of Conner by sheer force of will. Even though her bubbly attitude grated on me, I loved her tenacity to see it through to the end and prove her father wasn’t crazy. She’s not impervious to the danger and that felt like a real reaction coming from a photographer. She often needed reassurance from Conner about her safety and I was glad that by that point in the book Conner was able to give it to her without acting like a jerk. They are pursued by a variety of shadowy baddies who seem to have it out for both of them making identifying them difficult. I’m no doctor but since Conner walks with a limp and severe pain in his one leg I didn’t find the fight scenes believable. I liked he had limitations because often heros seem superhuman, but if his leg was that bad how did he managed to kick the shit out of trained professional hit men?

The relationship between Conner and Isis felt forced and superficial. I wanted to like them together but Conner comes across as such a huge pompous ass for most of the book. He has good reason I suppose, with his injury from an op gone wrong and forced hiatus from British Intelligence but it didn’t make it easier to digest or make his actions ok. He’s a stereotypical British man…too good for Isis and her little problem of finding a Egyptian tomb. Isis is the complete opposite from Conner and appears to have a personality akin to a Starbucks employee at 7am on a Sunday. You know…annoyingly happy…all the time. She refutes his snappy behavior each time and despite his surliness, she wants in his pants. So the romance aspect was seriously lacking. When Conner finally thaws out and he and Isis come together the sex was unremarkable. In fact I might call it boring. Because I didn’t feel any tension or draw to their relationship the sex felt like just a continuation in the story. Later in the book Conner does loosen up a bit and I did eventually grow to like him…somewhat…

The ending was just that. An ending. Very anti-climatic and quiet for a suspense type book. Things tied up neatly and bad guys Conner had been after for years are suddenly apprehended without fanfair. Much too tidy for my tastes.

I did enjoy all the Egyptian information and thought it made the books descriptive scenes really stand out. Adair excels at setting the scene no matter where her books are set. From the snowy mountains to the dusty deserts you never have any problems seeing her vision. Very Indiana Jones.

Relentless lost me early on, and though I did finish it, I wasn’t ever fully back on board. I liked book 1 and 2 of this series so I will be back for book 4 hoping we finally get to see Gideon, Zak’s (owner of Lodestone) missing brother who has been presumed dead since book 1.

I give Relentless by Cherry Adair 3 stars!

Feisty relentless heroine and reluctant sidelined MI5 hero play off each other beautifully. Great adventure. Unbelievably good luck but then it's fictional, fun and romance. I enjoy Cherry's books and this one was right at the top of the heap. Thanks Cherry for a colorful ride through Egypt and international thievery. It was a trip I will remember.

I absolutely adore romantic suspense stories. I love the action, the chase, and of course the love story that grows. I’ve enjoyed the Lodestone Trilogy. It has a great mix of action, alpha heroes with a touch of the metaphysical and strong heroines who can keep up with those heroes. One of the extra special traits to our hero in Relentless is that Connor is a former MI5 agent which means a British accent! Isis turns to Lodestone when her father develops Alzheimer's and cannot remember where he discovered the tomb of Cleopatra. Connor has a special talent that helps him to zero in to the GPS location of where an item is originally located from. Their journey takes them from Seattle, to London, to the deserts of Egypt where they soon realize someone may not want them to make their discovery. I loved how fast paced and exciting the story was. In both of the previous two books I felt that the author killed off a character that didn’t really need to die so I was extremely excited when that didn’t happen in this story. I enjoyed Cherry Adair’s writing style and was thoroughly entertained by this whole series. I will admit, Isis had some TSTL moments in this book but not enough to take away from my overall enjoyment. Good read!

I usually love Cherry Adair books. They are usually all well written. And I can't put them down. Well this one took me longer than normal to finish it. I also figured out one of the bad guys almost as soon as the bad guy was mentioned. One of the bad guys was a good twist, but I felt that it was just thrown in there close to the end to make it more dramatic. It did not do this. It just made me wonder why. The ending seemed rushed. It seemed to lack the bad guys facing off with the good guys in a dramatic fashion that Adair is good at. I did like that Adair went with an archaeology story line. That was fun. And it was also fun that they found the tomb. (Again I figured out from the one bad guy the general area of where Adair put the tomb before it was found.) But it just seemed too simple how they found it. Overall the book was a good read, but don't expect it to be as good as Adair's past books. Adair doesn't usually write simple books. This book was simple. I also didn't like that Conner didn't have a go at his baddie in the window. It just seemed too simple and convenient that Conner's baddie was caught so easily this time when he wasn't before.

Everyone knows a special agent is guaranteed to protect you with his life at all costs no matter the outcome to himself, but have you ever stopped to think what goes on inside the head of such a man and how and what exactly he is to do "to get over it" if no one ever stops to take the time to give him some much needed TLC.

In the latest read from the beyond brilliant Cherry Adair she not only digs into the mind of a man on a mission but also a man who has suffered loss, despair and true physical pain of the unspeakable inhumane kind. The author also gives us the one woman that can turn it all around for him and crack the door to his soul.

Sexy- I'll- strip-you-naked-and-take-you-to-Egyptian-heaven Connor has suffered and I mean truly suffered pain at the hands of a complete psycho and it has landed in behind a desk where he is simply bored out of his mind as being out in the field is where this hero truly shows his stuff.

But along with the pain and psychological turmoil it also brought him the ability to touch any object and take you straight to it's original location, totally awesome!

Enter the ditzy, controlling and temping Isis she has to uphold her fathers name by finding the tomb of Cleopatra and she will stop at nothing even if it means being relentless in every way possible !

The characters of Connor and Isis were both so addictive I could not stop reading I simply had to keep going to find out more about what exactly happened to Connor to make him the man he is and just why Isis is so set on completing her mission.

I loved how the author let Isis change Connor's perspective on life and through layer after layer being revealed the author showed that really listening to someone can make all the difference to truly discovering what that person is hiding and facing in life.

The backdrop setting was incredibly descriptive and I could touch and feel the ancient Egyptian history, see the colours and feel the textures. The dialogue was amazing it was so thrilling I could truly feel the scorpions crawling around me whilst deep in the hidden tombs.

The sexual heat level of this one was simply of the charts ladies, you will be left breathless and begging for you very own M15 agent to sweep you off your feet and into danger! The author also gave me some much needed info on the Egyptian culture which better explained a lot about the setting.

This author has once again proven she can take a mystery add a kick ass hero team him up with a woman of dreams and give a reader the ride of a lifetime!

Excellent work Cherry keep them coming

Part of a series

Grade: B
Sensuality: Hot

Relentless is the third book in a series about a private investigation company whose operatives all have a little something extra. Hush and Afterglow are the first two books in this romantic suspense series that has a slight touch of the paranormal. I have not read either of them, but this book stands well on its own.

Isis Magee is the daughter of one of the world’s premier Egyptologists. August Magee has been searching for Cleopatra’s tomb for 30 years. Unfortunately he has also publicly announced this finding more than once and the archeological world has recently written him off as an eccentric. To make matters even worse, August has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and cannot remember the last euphoric call he placed to his daughter informing her that he had definitely found Cleopatra’s tomb. Fortunately, August had some artifacts in his pocket when he was found wandering in the Egyptian desert. Isis has sold everything she owns to finance an investigation to clear her father’s name.

Connor Thorne is an MI-5 operative on sabbatical as he recovers from the almost fatal wounds he received at the hands of a Russian criminal while tracking him in Egypt. During his recovery, he has taken a job with Lodestone, a P.I. firm whose members have uncanny abilities. Thorne is a human GPS, a skill he miraculously obtained after dying on the operating table. When given an object, he can immediately locate its last resting place by longitude and latitude numbers. When he learns that Isis’ investigation will lead to Egypt, he is adamant about not wanting the assignment as the memories of his worst nightmare are in that desert. The object Isis has him touch leads to London and the exhibit that will feature August Magee’s lifetime achievements as an Egyptologist. Thorne finally agrees to go to London and no farther...

I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Connor Thorne and Isis Magee was immediate. Cherry Adair did a wonderful job of combining hot and sexy with light, witty banter between the two. A winning combo for me.

I received this book for free from Goodreads First Reads.

Usually I love author Cherry Adair's books. However this one was kind of a miss for me. Connor was hero material. His work with MI5 left him scarred and vulnerable while trying to maintain a hard exterior. I never really fully grasped his ability. Because he had been near death he turned into a sort of human GPS. Isis was likable and her reasons for contacting Connor to investigate her ill father's claim to the tomb of Cleopatra were noble.

The book had lots of action and mystery with many villains after them. However the book didn't really pick up for me until about 200 pages in. I found the romantic tension between the two leads at times forced and inappropriate for example they are being chased around with people shooting at them and all they can think about is their attraction for each other. I get the after effects of adrenaline and the urge to feel alive and all that but the fact they were feeling like this while they were still in danger was a little unbelievable.

The quest for the tomb was exciting and their journey to safety was the best part of the novel from then I was hooked. Lots of surprises and crazy twists near the end. However one twist left open a very big question that I felt wasn't answered properly but then maybe it was open to reader interpretation. All in all I don't believe this book was Adair's best but I will still keep reading more by her.

Lots of intrigue and danger from London to Egypt.

Lodestone agent Conner Thorne, on a forced medical leave from MI6, is handed a job he thinks is going to be a waste of time. The latest client wants him to help her find Cleopatra’s lost tomb. Her father who is currently in a home suffering from Alzheimer swears he found the tomb but cant remember where. With Conner’s special gift she wants him to try and locate his last location by touching artifacts he would have last touched while at the tomb.

After finally agreeing to follow her to London to the museum that houses these artifacts the harrowing adventure begins which leads them to Egypt. They are constantly dodging bullets and car crashes from unknown assailants.

Conner reminded me of a stuffier James Bond. He was plenty broody and had plenty of bad guys after him from his last MI6 job that went bad. He was also very sexy with his accent.

Isis Magee reminded me of Evelyn from The Mummy. She was very one tracked minded in her pursuit of finding the tomb and getting the recognition her father deserved and kept finding herself in situations that Conner would have to rescue her from.

The Egyptian locals were realistically described by the author; you almost felt you were there alongside them through all their adventures.

MI5 agent Connor Thorn, on medical leave is working for his friend Zak at Lodestone with his newly acquired skill of finding things from his near death experience and hating it. Isis Magee, Acadia(Zak's bride)'s cousin/sister goes to him to help her locate Cleopatra's Tomb her Dad August Magee found before he was knocked unconscious & his crew killed in the desert. Because of his injury he now has Alzheimers but gets flashes of remembering and Isis is determined to prove he did indeed find his life long passion of finding Cleo's Tomb. Thorne doesn't believe her but they set off flowing the GPS sites he gets from her clues Dad left her. They immediately run into trouble upon hitting Egypt. Their killers/kidnappers are "Relentless"ly after them and together thy find Cleo's tomb & discover who's behind the theft of antiquities. **SPOILER** Thorn's Dad the Earl of Kilgetty contacted Boris Yermalof (Russian black market dealer) connected him to August Magee an Egyptologist, so the Earl could fund Magee's digs, and rape the treasures. Dr. Kalifa Najid, Minister of Water & Irrigation is the Egypt contact and was needed to empty and cover up Cleo's tomb. August's assistant Dylan Brengard assisted in being the front to "discover" the relocated tomb and set up the charade.

What I Loved
Characters
Isis: Love her name, but I also love that she is a photographer, made me really want to go out and do some photography as well. Anyways, she is a fun character, I can completely respect her desire to help prove her father right.
Connor: Another brooding sexy man wonderfully created by Cherry. British, who doesn't love a sexy British man. Can kick some major ass and of course add a little bit of broken and you got the perfect romance man.
Romance
As usual to Cherry's wonderful books, always full of steamy, dirty (in this case), sexy romance and sex. Two great fitting characters that compliment each other wonderfully.
Suspense
And of course another perfect Cherry book wouldn't be completely without plenty of gun shooting, car chasing, hand to hand combat, life and death situations all in the exciting and dusty city of Egypt. Which I've always been a bit fascinated and in awe of Egypt's ancient beauty and mystery.

Didn't Like
I really wish there would have been one more chapter of wrapping things up, I know the wrap of stuff would have all been implied stuff but I still would have loved to have read it anyways.

Recommendation
Must read for those romance readers that love a good exciting fast pace book.

This is the third book in the Lodestone series, and is just as good as the prior books. As usual it’s filled with action, adventure, suspense, and romance that kept my interest throughout the entire book.

Isis Magee has spent many occasions on digs with her archaeologist father, but he has not remembered much since right before his last dig. He has been trying to find Cleopatra’s tomb for a long time and now he only has two clues to give to Isis to its locations. Isis has decided to go after her father’s dream, but these two clues are not enough to find the tomb, so she heads to Lodestone asking for help in finding the location in Egypt.

Connor Thorne has been helping out at Lodestone and is the man who’s supposed to help Isis find the location of Cleo’s tomb. The last place he wants to be is in Egypt, there are enough bad memories to keep him away from there for a very long time, and he really doesn’t want to help restore her father’s reputation. Once he receives the information he needs he decides to go with Isis, but he doesn’t plan on getting into the danger that has followed them. What he’s not sure of once they arrive there is if they will be leaving.

"Relentless", the final book in the "Lodestone Trilogy", is by far the best of the bunch. In fact, this is my favorite Cherry Adair book to date and even tops "Undertow" (although that bookcover is much better). I loved the t-shirt wearing heroine with perpetually smudgy glasses and wild hair who just wants to find Mr. Right, get married and become a stay-at-home mom. (Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of all the Superwomen stories where they have and do it all. This was a nice change of pace and rather refreshing. I'm sure it will draw ire from some, but I'm lovin' it! Thank you, Ms. Adair, for sticking up for those of us who choose to be stay-at-home moms!) And it made me stupid-happy that our modern woman/heroine still called the bad guys "frickers" and "slime buckets". *giggle snort* Add to that a sexy yet wounded hero and an Egyptian adventure and you've got yourself one helluva good read! Loved it!!!

I really liked Connor and Isis; he was strong, focused, and determined while she was curious, steady, and optimistic. They were a good foil for each other. Obviously I knew that they were going to survive, and find the cave in the process. What I did not know was how involved the plot against them was. I CANNOT believe that Connor's dad, the Earl, was working with the guy who almost killed him! He almost got his son killed. Twice. That was surprising. I was glad when Husani and Heustis did not turn out to be bad; I kept expecting it so the shock wouldn't be so painful but it never happened. I am glad that her father will be able to get the credit he deserves for finding Cleopatra's tomb and that Connor and Isis got their happily ever after. I do not remember a lot about the characters from the previous books; Zak and his power were mentioned and I cannot remember what he can do. Connor and his ability to read GPS locations by touching items is interesting.

This story was slow. I had a real issue getting into it. I love Egyptian stories, especially tomb searches but this was just blah. Isis seems interesting enough, rather secretive about her financial issues but I suppose one doesn't want to go shouting that from the rooftops. Connor on the other hand is last plain unlikable. He is rude, short and secretive. His family situation was poorly told as was his background. I guess I just lacked any kind of connection with him and Isis. Suddenly they were falling into bed and love. It really seemed poorly timed and strange. I just can't come up with much I liked in this book, sorry.

My first Cherry Adair book and was totally blown away. Full of action, shoot outs, car chasing while searching for Cleopatra's tomb with super hot ex-MI5 sex on legs guy and Isis daughter of the man who claimed to have found the tomb. A wild and wonderful story with great banter, wit and sexual attention with very steamy love scenes, and they had me hooked at being in Egypt. A must read and well executed book. Amazing story amazing writer, thanks Cherry and cant wait to get my teeth stuck into more of your books and met the men from T-Flac. Oh I do love a great action packed romance book and you ticked all the right boxes for me.

Connor Thorne and Isis Magee have a lot of heat in this story. Isis seeks out the help of Lodestone to locate the tomb of Cleopatra, her father's dream, and discover the mystery to her father's attack. Thorne is recovering from near fatal injuries and is helping out a Lodestone while on medical leave from MI5. Together they travel to London and Egypt in order to unravel the mysterious clues her father has provided and find trouble and passion along the way. I loved the continuation of the Lodestone series, though found some discrepancies with the relationship between Isis and Acadia in their childhood.

I have FINALLY found a book by Cherry Adair that I really loved. Until now, I've either liked or disliked her books, but I never found one that stuck with me. The hero, Connor Thorne, is a HOT British spy (a la James Bond). He's just perfect. He says the right things and does the right things. He can beat up seven thugs single-handedly, even though he's badly injured and has an unhealed leg. Yum. Dreamy! His heroine, Isis, is likable and rarely annoying. Does she deserve him? No...but nobody does. Go ahead and read this one!

It pains me to give this rating. I read 4 other books as this sat next to my night stand and I never missed not getting back involved. I think what bothered me so much was Thorne was way to injured to be doing what he was doing.
While these books are stand alone's, very little tied them together. This book had the least amount of numbers running through Thorne's head which was interesting to me in the previous books.
Be your own judge. We are all different and I will use the excuse a lot is going in in my life that I couldn't get engaged in this book.

4.5 This series is great. I loved that this was in the desert and very Indiana Jones like. Thorne is such a pissed off bad-ass, I loved him. Isis is funny and laid back and she just rolls with the punches. When Thorne is a dick she just shrugs it off. Which baffles him. They are looking for Cleopatra's tomb and along the way there are high speed chases and the mystery of who is after them. I loved all the sexual tension with these two. Cant wait to see who the next book is about.

Isis Magee is sure her father, a famous archeologist who now has Alzheimer's, had indeed discovered Cleopatra's burial tomb before being hit over the head & left for dead. She has hired Connor Thorne through Lodestone to help her find the tomb. As soon as they set foot in Egypt, the bad guys are after Thorne, or is it Isis, or both of them? Who can they trust? There is no time for the characters in this story to relax. Its full of action, & romance! I give it 5 stars!

This book was rough. The characters weren't believable, and there really was no chemistry between Thorne and Isis. There were other issues as well, so that while some individual scenes were ok, they didn't come together as a solid novel. The sex scenes were steamy enough, so if you like to just skip to those when you 'read' a romance, you might like this book, but I was reading for plot and characters and found this book annoying.

Isis Magee is determined to find Cleopatra’s tomb and clear her ailing father’s reputation. She seeks help from Lodestone agent Connor Thorne. Their search leads them to the Egyptian desert where, along with the people that are determined for them to fail, they fight their growing attraction for each other. The latest in Cherry Adair’s Lodestone series is not to be missed.

Relentless is a non-stop whirlwind of action and romance. Isis Magee is trying to prove her did find Cleopatra. Our only hope is Connor Thorne. Connor is a human GPS. Who doesn't want to back on the field yet. Will they find Cleo? Will they Survive the search. You have to read Relentless to find out!

The best in the series! Action-packed from beginning to end.
Connor made it into my favorite-hero list...for being the British pompous-ass he is, but even more so for sticking to it. No pussy whipped hero found here (Thank God, or Cherry Adair). Love Isis too! She's so endearingly loveable and yet, not TSTL.
