I've read The Wedding Fling by total accident, due to the Russian Roulette my Kindle played on me, but I am glad I did because I discovered a new to me author whose writing style I very much enjoyed and will definitely check out Meg Maguire's next books.

The premise is pretty movie-like: Leigh is a B rate actress who doesn't enjoy all the media attention and speculation at all. On her wedding day after she discovers her fiancée has been cheating on her, she flies the scene and goes off alone to the remote honeymoon location she picked, and as fate would have it, the tactless pilot who takes her to the island is a handsome man and something develops between these two (anyone has any Six Days Seven Nights (with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche) déjá vu? lol).

Leigh was a likeable heroine, because besides the sympathy card (hey she just discovered on her wedding day that her soon-to-be-husband is an unfaithful, lying jerk) she was quite normal, not the snob, stuck up celebrity girl.

In the low light leaking from the villa, his smile tightened.

“I guess I want you to be what I expected—a bit more spoiled. Or shallow.” She relaxed.
“Sorry. I don’t see why that annoys you, though. Spoiled and shallow sound far more irritating to me.”
“It’s annoying because I like things in my life to be simple. It makes them complicated when people aren’t what you expect.” Dan’s face sprang immediately to mind.
“It’s annoying because if you weren’t so sweet and charming and weird, I wouldn’t be stuck struggling this hard to not find you attractive.”

What made this not unheard of story enjoyable and memorable was Meg Maguire's great writing. It flew smoothly and was both funny:

“Is this where you live, Captain?” She nodded to the cottage on stilts. “It’s adorable.”
Will glowered, faking insult.
“Sorry. It’s butch. Really butch.”

and heartfelt:

"If I was a more eloquent man, I’d have come up with something worth your time to read. But we both know finesse isn’t my strong suit. So all I can do is say it again—I’m sorry. I’m sorry, and I meant everything I ever said to you, on the beach and in bed and on that dock, the day you left. If I manage to meet someone half as amazing as you in my next thirty-three years, it’ll be more than I deserve. Though for now, I’m still hopelessly, helplessly in love with you. It hurts like a bitch, but I guess that just proves karma’s for real. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do with your life. I hope you keep dancing. “Plain old Leigh” dancing on the sand is just about the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, so I hope you let her call the shots from now on. She won’t steer you wrong.

Love (the really painful, torturous kind),
Will"

The descriptions of the setting were done beautifully, Meg Maguire's writing was so evocative I could easily picture the orange and purple sunsets and smell the coconut scented tropical breeze.

Verdict: The Wedding Fling is a nice escapist romance, perfect to read during these cold snowy winter months so that you can take, at least virtually, a trip to a Caribbean paradise island and experience (= read about) the perfect sunset and enjoy the beautiful setting. A nice couple with some smexy time spent in paradise, I liked The Wedding Fling and read it in one sitting!

The Wedding Fling by Meg Maguire

I forgot how seductive Meg Maguire's writing can be.

As soon as I started reading this, I got sucked back in to the Meg Maguire Black Hole and I couldn't get out.

And I didn't want to.

Once again, Meg takes a seemingly simple premise (run-away bride off to Barbados, and conflicted pilot with a dream and an ailing father), and she makes it sing. Like an opera at the Met.

There is something about her writing. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's simple and straight-forward, and yet it has a richness to it. She has the perfect balance of deep POV and external plot. And the relationships that develop between the hero and heroine always feel organic, real and believable.

This book is no exception. Leigh is by far Maguire's most appealing heroine. She is a down-to-earth starlet and her sweetness and practicality are very appealing. The hero is sexy and complex. A rugged island pilot who falls unexpectedly in love with this woman. She shoots all of his preconceptions about Hollywood gals right out the door. His awful secret and guilt builds throughout the novel and makes a wonderful, suspenseful story arc.

I also liked the resolution. There are no big fireworks, just two troubled characters willing to take a risk after heart-ache. The end was very romantic. I would have liked an epilogue, such as the one we got with The Reluctant Nude. It was such a fine ending for that story.

Another one of Maguire's strengths is her development of setting. And believe me when I tell you, you'll be ready to jump on a plane to Barbados and bask in the setting sun with a frosty cold beer.

Maguire elevates the standard Harlequin into something special. This is a lovely and romantic contemporary, not quite as sexy as some of her other novels, but definitely emotionally satisfying.

Grade: A-

Happy Reading,
Penelope

Meg Maguire (Cara McKenna) is getting stronger and stronger as a writer. Awesome sentences and emotionally complicated descriptions abound in this book. I selfishly hope for contemporary romance to have a prose stylist as fabulous as historical romance's current best (Cecilia Grant and Sherry Thomas), and I'm betting my money on Maguire.

However, I wasn't an ideal reader for this story. I don't care for stories of privileged white people going to an "exotic" country where they realize what's important in life, against a backdrop of service-industry locals who are the only characters whose dialogue is rendered in non-"proper"-English -- this story isn't the worst offender, but it's not a framework I enjoy reading. I also didn't care for the external conflict/plot (who sold Leigh's story to the tabloids? spoiler alert: the hero finds the culprit grinning over his stacks of money, like some cartoon villain); compared to the more subtle emotional work done in the relationship between the characters, the tedious lack of subtlety in the external conflict unfortunately stood out in contrast.

Leigh Bailey is an "it" Hollywood starlet on the brink of marriage to her rocker fiance. She is secretly having second thoughts since the relationship has not been the same in several months. Even though she has reservations she is a good girl, and lets others in her life determine life choices that effect her happiness, including her mother. When Leigh receives a phone call after dressing for her wedding, she knows the only sensible thing to do for herself is to go on her honeymoon alone. Yes, she is a runaway bride. She hides out and decides that she wants from life. No more letting other people run her life.

Leigh meets the resort pilot, Will. An altogether not likeable guy, that in a moment of near weakness was going to personally cash in on Leigh's misfortune. Will and Leigh get to know each other as acquaintances, then as friends and lovers. Will discovers that he has a partner to support him in his dream of opening up a beach bar and club. Leigh finds a new purpose in life, but all of this is not realized right away. There are trials for this couple before all turns out well. This story was entertaining, but did drag sometimes. The relationship between the two main characters was not always believable and may have attributed to the story dragging in some places. The love scenes were true to the author, but not the steamiest. Fans of the author will enjoy this book. Even though I didn't love this book, I will read more in the future from this author.

* Thank you to Harlequin and Netgalley for providing a copy of this book for review.

Capt. Will Burgess gave me West Ravenel vibes. And anyone who knows me knows I’d sell a kidney to be with West Ravenel.
The plot was pretty ridiculous but their banter definitely made up for it.

I admit that I was a little uncertain when I started reading this. Sometimes this type of story can seem rushed -- A bride immediately jumping into a relationship with another man. Happily, it wasn't the case with The Wedding Fling. I felt the pacing was decent and the story was entertaining.

Leigh Bailey is definitely not what you'd expect out of an actress. She's naive, nice and doesn't like the spot light at all. Her mother controls her life. Her parents do nothing but argue. And the huge gap between her and her fiance has been growing for a while.

She finds out that he is cheating on her, on the day of their wedding. She reacts immediately, taking off for the airport. I shake my head as I think about it again. The guy deserved to be confronted-- and then maybe I'd have voted she take off for the airport. I get why she didn't do it though, especially after reading more of her story and getting to know her character.

I liked the private islands resort pilot, Will Burgess. He's a bit sarcastic and definitely skeptical of Leigh. She's not the first celebrity to have floated through the island on a luxury vacation. When Leigh invites herself to a resort employee party Will sees a different side of her. They have great chemistry, Will and Leigh but he tries his best to stay away from her.

Will is a bit of a... free spirit. He can easily take off any time, leaving everything behind. The last thing he really wants is to get involved with someone. Least of all someone that the tabloids are after. And he knows for sure they are, since they contacted him to leak info on her. It's a tempting offer, but once he gets to know her a little better, he can't do it. Will is a really good guy and can't bring himself to do something like that to her.

Their friendship and relationship grows slowly buy steadily. They are great together but it's obvious that things are going to go south. There usually isn't an HEA without a little drama before hand. Also, I figured that tabloid thing wasn't just going to go away. And when Leigh finds out about it, things aren't pretty. Of course it's hard for her to believe he didn't have ill intent. Leigh has always had to deal with people wanting things out of her. It's not shocking that she'd assume Will is just after something else, mainly money.

There's a lot of miscommunication and heart break between these two. Even when Leigh goes home she can't forget about Will. One thing leads to another and Leigh realizes she made a mistake, that Will wasn't trying to use or hurt her. She hurries back to the island to make amends with him. I wanted to hug the poor guy once I learned what he had done to move forward with his life. No longer was he the drifter I first met.

Will's made a drastic life change and when she finds out Leigh makes one of her own. I felt like they had both done everything they should to get to the right spot-- the place they were meant to be in. Together.

The Wedding Fling was a sweet and steamy story that I read pretty quickly. I enjoyed Meg Maguire's style of writing and her characters very much. I just imagine that Will and Leigh are sitting on a beach together, watching the sunset every evening.

Leigh Bailey is an actress who has had a few hit movies but really could care less about the Hollywood spotlight. While she used to deeply love her boyfriend and now fiancé, things have become strained between them. She chalks it up to wedding planning jitters and hopes to reconnect with Will on their honeymoon. But when they are done on a phone conversation and he clicks over to his ‘brother’ which happens to be his “girlfriend on the side” and Leigh hears the conversation, she is hurt and saddened. She runs away the morning of her wedding and heads to Barbados alone for her honeymoon. All she wants is seclusion and her jar of peanut butter. She has lived her entire life pleasing her mother, and cuts off all connections back to the states for her two week stay.

Her pilot to take her to the very small island is Will. Will has an ailing father and some property he really wants to invest in, but he has no money. He loves the island and he loves flying his little plane, and at first he sees Leigh and dollar signs. He knows the tabloids would pay big bucks to get a juicy scoop on the runaway bride and it would solve all his money woes. But he quickly realizes she is not a snob, or a rich brat and a warm friendship that leads to a romance develops.

I’ve read a few cute runaway bride stories this year (others being Down for the Count by Christine Bell and Mr. Rebound by Michael Cain). I like Leigh in this and her struggle with fame. How she understands it’s like the third person in her relationships and how tired she is from all of it. Her escape to the island is for her to reboot her life. Maybe make a decision not involving her mother. At first Will rubbed me the wrong way but that is the point. He is tactless and you know from the start he has thoughts of selling Leigh out to the tabloids. But his feelings for her quickly changed as my feelings for him changed as well. He is a good guy. A beach bum of sorts, who is very close with his father and wants to buy property so his father can retire and live with him.

While I think Leigh and Will have a nice relationship, and a sexy one at times, I wasn’t convinced that they really knew each other all that well to fall in love. I’m always cynical with love at first sight, or just love in a matter of one week. Especially when actions occur that could make you distrust the other person. As it turns out, someone does sell out Leigh to the gossip magazines, but it wasn’t Will. But she blames him and then he feels guilty because of his original thoughts of selling her out. It all seemed so forced. I mean, when Will wanted to sell her information ,he didn’t know her at all. Once he met her and hung out with her for a day, he did a 180 and realized it was the wrong thing to do. So what’s the big deal? Leigh freaks out and Will feels guilt and the predictable fight occurs. Just wasn’t’ a fan of how that all turned out.

I really enjoyed the setting and otherwise it’s a nice runaway bride story. Just needed more time for the actual love to develop and less forced conflict.

I was very impressed by the first Meg Maguire book I read, THE RELUCTANT NUDE, and looked forward to reading this latest release with anticipation. Leigh Bailey, a dancer who has reluctantly become a hot commodity in Hollywood, is on the verge of marrying Dan, her boyfriend of several years. She's not entirely sanguine at the prospect, afraid that Dan, a musician, has become more interested in the cachet (and cash) associated with being her partner than in developing his own creativity. The problems in their relationship turn out to be even worse than Leigh had thought, as a plot-contrivance of a phone call reveal his cheating ways. Shocked, distraught, Leigh cancels the wedding and takes off on her honeymoon solo.

Will Burgess, the pilot who makes daily island-hops between Barbados and the private resort isle, is looking forward to selling a few tidbits about Leigh to the scandal sheets so he can afford to open the island bar he's always dreamed about, and bring his father (who is in failing health) down from NYC to live with him. Once he meets Leigh, however, he thinks better of taking the sleazy tabs up on their offer. He may be a bit of a drifter, but he's not that low.

Leigh decides that the tactless Will might be just the "right person to finally screw up with" after spending the past ten years being a good-girl people-pleaser. Will, interested but wary due to his own personal baggage, slowly succumbs to Leigh's charms. Leigh discovers that "rebound crushes weren't nearly as simple as she'd been led to believe"; Will, too, starts to feel affection, and attachment, feelings that scare him no end.

During her time on the island, Leigh comes to realize that the Hollywood life isn't for her, perhaps never was; she gave up herself, gave in to her mother's desires for her daughter's success, rather than any drive to succeed for herself. When she hears of Will's restaurant/bar plan, she asks to become a partner. But after she's embarrassed during an interview with the news that Will has been tattling to the tabloids, she leaves the island. Not even Will's declaration that he loves her will keep her there. It will take some grand gestures, on both their parts, before the HEA can be achieved.

This new novel is well-written, but its characters aren't as memorable as those in THE RELUCTANT NUDE. Leigh and Will are certainly sympathetic characters, but neither they nor their romance strikes any unique or special note. And having a people-pleasing girl give up her career may be an empowering move, but doing it to share in Will's dream, rather than to pursue a dream of her own, makes me feel that this wouldn't be the best choice to feature on ROMANCE NOVELS FOR FEMINISTS.

This is the perfect book for Holiday, you know what, it's also the perfect book when you are in a need of a Holiday which is basically, whenever you are NOT in one ;) After more "heavy duty" books I really enjoyed reading a more "easy going" book. Naturally each of the MC had their issues but basically it was a fun and optimistic read.

Leigh runs off from her wedding day after discovering that Dan, her fiance, wasn't the guy she wanted to commit to. Wanting a bit of a break from her life as a celebrity she decides to go to the secluded cabin in the Caribbeans she and Dan ordered for their Honeymoon. There she meets a not very charming pilot named Will who isn't what he looks like and doesn't have the purest intentions when it comes to her, or rather his intentions WERE shady but as he got to know her and she to know him, they both want a fun and not committing fling with a person they came to like and enjoy one's company. Naturally it doesn't stay that for long when her being a celebrity "gets in the way" and his shady intentions from before he got to know her explodes in their faces. So a bit of drama in the end but mostly a relaxed vocation in the Caribbeans for Leigh as well as for us (by proxy).

Will and Leigh each has their own problems - Leigh kinda got lost becoming a celebrity and she just wants to be her old self back but being a crowd-pleaser that she is, it's hard for her to navigate her life to where she wants them to be. Will on the other hand just wants his and his father's dream to come true, opening a bar in a place he had picked but can't buy due to loss of funds.

A very enjoyable and fun read. Sometimes this is what we need, an easy going, good pace story with a relaxed plot line that even with it's little crisis (and big one near the end) just delivers the bit of romance and positive outcome we need to absorb. It's no Shakespearean master piece or an emotional ride/wreck, and the characters aren't perfect heroes or somehow "to die for" by any stretch of the word, there is nothing to really envy them of except for their present locations ;) but it IS a great little story that left me with a nice calm and smile on my face.

Recommended! You'll know when you need one of those :)

I love Harlequin Blaze and this one did not disapoint. Meg Maguire has written a blazing hot romance that was hard to put down.

Leigh is a Hollywood starlet and also a runaway bride. Off on her honeymoon alone, she meets Will, a pilot and hero who is everything Leigh is not. Free. Independent. Fun.

My favorite parts of the book included:

1) Will - even though he had faults, he is a dynamic character who changes in throughout the story, thanks to Leigh. I love his playfulness, his caring, and his hopelessness at the end. I wanted to reach out and hug him and tell him it would all be okay, that Harlequin had HEAs. He was sweet, endearing and the image of him in shorts and sandals wading in the ocean had me fanning myself from the beginning.

2) The ending - Without giving too much away, I liked how Leigh is the one who changes the relationship in the end. It's what needed to be done in order for the story to work. Leigh had much to learn about herself and the big step she had to take is what made the difference. It is almost sweet how Will reacts and the last page had my heart jumping up and down.

3) The setting - Love the Bahamas setting with townfolk, a storm, and even a glorious sunset every now and then. Made me want to take a trip.

The parts that brought this from a 5 to a 4 star:

1) I really don't like the "famous" starlet character. I prefer the anonymity to the main characters, because it makes me feel like the romance and love could be between anyone. At least Leigh wanted to feel normal, but it was still there and a huge part of the story.

2) Their first sex scene was hot, but they didn't take it all the way, which I found strange. I didn't really understand the reasoning behind that.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Will sucked me in and Meg Maguire did a great job at tying in all the conflicts of the story.

I like reading Harlequin romances because you know you're getting your HEA in 200 pages or less. Sometimes I just need to get to the chase without a lot of angsty build up. Normally that works for me but in The Wedding Fling, unfortunately, it didn't.

Long story short - Leigh found out that her fiance is cheating on her. Instead of going through with the wedding, she takes off to Barbados, on her honeymoon. Leigh needs to clear her mind and figure out what she wants to do with her life. She meets Will, the island pilot. Will is trying to build his dream life on the island so that he can send for his father. In order to do that, Will needs cash - stat. So what does he do? He's approached by a tabloid to spy on Leigh and sell information. He decides to do it, thinking Leigh is a shallow, celebrity who doesn't deserve common courtesy or privacy. But when he meets her, he second guesses the deal he made because he realized, 'Hey. Celebrities are people too.'

The Wedding Fling was an okay read. I liked the setting and the premise. I didn't like Will and Leigh. To me, they lacked personality, heat and spark. Leigh is a D list celebrity who, at 27 yrs old, is still being pushed around by her mother. It was hard for me to feel sorry for her because I could not understand why she lacked a spine. Even her explanation seemed weak. Will is an okay hero that, at times, was interesting. But to me, there was nothing about him that stood out to make me take notice.

I didn't buy the falling in love part (even though it's mandatory that the h/h fall in love by the end of the book). I liked the idea of a fling after being hurt and humiliated. Just wished there was more of a spark between the two characters.

*** JANUARY 10, 2013 ***

3.5 stars.

another strong offering from meg maguire (cara mckenna), Queen of the Contemporary Romance. the writing started off shakier and less assured than in maguire/mckenna's best works, but before long and through the rest of the work the story, as always, was a winner, most notably populated by characters who were fully rounded and had woven together a believable, compelling story and chemistry.

one thing maguire/mckenna does best is to imagine and write authentic and credible psychologies (with their ensuing dialogue, internal monologues, choices, and responses) for a varied cast of characters. she did no less in this work, though the tidy conclusion (specifically the emotional resolution on the heroine's part) perhaps came off a bit too quickly for the highest praise: the character's choice was explicable and even desirable, but the book would have been stronger had we seen evidence of a little more mental work done on the heroine's part to arrive at the conclusion she did.

but, really, totes awesome, as is pretty much everything written by M/M.

READ AT YOUR PERIL: oh -- and i kept accidentally seeing will burgess as Ty Pennington, which did my Fantasy Life no favors and necessitated a few extemporaneous exorcisms before i could read to the last page.

*** UPDATE: OCTOBER 4, 2013 ***

the above review still stands with the following detail proffered: mckenna tends to write blue-collar workers and intellectuals very well. but here her attempts to write semi-superficial Society fall flat. and her tabloid and Oprah-esque patter come off as very stale and not particularly believable.

but even for these missteps, the major part of the book is strong and worth the read.

Courtesy of Harlequin through Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

On her wedding day Leigh Bailey discovers that her friend and now fiance has been cheating on her. Now a runaway bride, the starlet runs off to the all inclusive honeymoon-for-one on a secluded island in hopes to avoid the on-slaughter of media and questions she is yet to face let alone answer. But on the island, Leigh is not alone.

Will Burgess is a resort pilot who is a little desperate for money, with his father sick with unforeseeable time left, Will wants to build a better future. With his dreams on a line, Will is pressed for much needed cash, all he has to do is feed a reporter some news on the runaway actress.

Cute story, the beginning drew me in but their conversations fell a little flat sometimes but it was a good read before bedtime. Leigh was a great character and everything opposite of what Will thought she was like. A down to earth Actress that wants a little privacy out of her life, and of course, dancing.

The plot was entertaining I cannot remember the last time I read a story about a runaway bride, who finds love on an secluded island. It had a bit of an adventure tied in and some sweet romance as she breaks down the hard walls of Will Burgess. Unable to sell the stories of Leigh out to the reporter, Will watched his dreams of building his own business and bringing his father over, slip away.

The ending was touching, even when everything blows up because the media exposes the true intentions that Will use to have before he changed his mind. Thus effectively severing the relationship between Will and Leigh. The ending is predictable, but it was still so sweet and even emotional. When Will pours his heart out, it was one swoon worthy moment.

This book tell the story of Leigh, a famous actress who on her wedding day, found out that her fiancé, Dan is having an affair with another girl. She knew that she has to call off the wedding; hence, he did the only thing that she knew how; she run away to spend her honeymoon alone. Will, who is the person in charge to fly her to the honeymoon destination, was tempted with the monetary offer from a publisher in exchange of info of Leigh’s where about. Soon enough, he found out that Leigh is not the person he expected her to be hence, he refused the offer despite the fact that he desperately need the money. There is attraction between them; from the first moment they met and it is no surprise when they were finally together. The conflict started when someone leaked out the intimate photo to the editor.

I find that the story plot is simple romance where the couple found themselves attracted to each other and when being confronted with the conflict, one choose to leave. In this book, I admired Will for his decision to sell his beloved plane and use the money to realize his dreams.

It's too late to write a full review now, but I wanted to put this down before I forgot.

I was reading along when this paragraph stuck out for me as saying a lot in just a few lines:
Will stared over the water for a moment, and Leigh studied his eyes in the dying sun, bright as a blue glass pendant she’d admired in the shopping district the previous morning. She wondered who had raised this man and given him those eyes, and what they thought of the life he’d made for himself, so far from New York City.
I'm no judge of literary prose or merit - a lit professor once wondered aloud why I hadn't dropped his class when I was clearly out of my league - but I liked how that last line looked. I was then really tickled when both the provenance of his blue eyes and a blue glass pendant appear later in the novel. It was like an easter egg or something.

Some parts strained credulity, but I really enjoyed the book overall.

I had a few issues with the relationship in this book and mostly the fault was that I didn’t really believe and connected with Leigh. She’s too naïve and way to pleasing. She wants do what everyone wants and what people expects, especially her family.

But the problem for me was the fact she’s 27 and it’s still letting her mother boss her life and career. I still don’t know how she managed to have a relationship and even almost marrying him.

I liked Will in a few moments and he’s way of dealing with the reality was a bit strange to me, but he’s a right guy and mostly is only trying to make the right thing.

I had no problem with Leigh enjoying a few moments of good sex, but she fell in love way to fast, without knowing anything of Will. For me it was like she was just escaping her mother clutches and jumping on a big adventure without thinking through.

My full review here.

I got this as an ARC from Net Galley and based on this cheesy description, I was apprehensive.

I ended up enjoying this book very much. If a romance novel has two believable characters, a sizzling attraction, and good writing, odds are I will like it.

Leigh and Will work. Of course, the chemistry between the main characters is always going to be critical to whether a romance novel works. Leigh, saddened (sort of) by her breakup on the day of her wedding and exhausted by the suffocation of her family and career, can’t deny her attraction to a man in a tropical paradise who seems to live disconnected from everything. It’s believable.

I love Meg Maguire's writing and this book did not disappoint. Despite having a rather generic premise and a somewhat predictable story arc, I was pleasantly surprised at how eager I was to keep reading.

The main characters, Leigh and Will, are very likeable and they have great chemistry, both as friends and lovers. Without that, I would have been incredibly annoyed at how quickly they fall in love (less than one week). It's still pretty far-fetched but I was able to roll with it because neither is carrying around a lot of angsty baggage. They are flawed individuals but have self-deprecating senses of humor which add to their appeal as a couple.

While this isn't my most favorite Meg Maguire book (that honor belongs Trespass), I would still recommend it.

This book as a solid 3.5-4 out of 5.

I won't recap the story because it's already been done well.

This was a short, easy, fun romance novel. I liked the characters, Leigh especially. She was so nice! And Will was a great guy too. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop, and I loved their banter back and forth. It was nice to have two characters who weren't so mushy with each other from the beginning. Their conversations seemed real - not too sappy, but not unbelievable either.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, light novel.

Over all this was a cute story.

I will give it to her. I would have hurt someone. This story does have some cheating involved in it and I know that is a big no for some people. It isn't the base of the story though. I have not read a book in a while that has just pulled me in and held me. This one is one that did get my interest and I wanted to see how things were going to play out.

It was a good story. Personally I think it was a little too nice. I kind of wish that things went a tad bit different but it was what it was. I didn't hate it but i didn't LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

3.5 Meg Maguire delivers. I love her writing. Her male characters are always so very likeable. Will is all endless summer: tanned, relaxed, and casual. His effortless charm and wit mixed with an alluring maturity and bold masterful sexiness elevates him to a seriously swoon-worthy man. The passion builds and explodes very satisfyingly.
