The beloved ’80s classic is back, better than ever, and ready to defend the universe! Let’s Voltron!
Years ago, Voltron mysteriously disappeared, and the five lions were scattered throughout the universe. Over time, the lions were recovered by the original Voltron Lance, Pidge, Hunk, Princess Allura, and Commander Keith. Now, with the help of three new recruits, Voltron rises again, to defend the universe once more! Let’s go Voltron Force!
All of the Voltron Force’s enemies from past battles—The Drule twins Zora and Roza, Daggor, Kai-Borg and Prince Nebulax—have joined forces with King Lotor for the ultimate battle of good versus evil. And this time, Lotor is in command of something he’s never had before—the Voltron Lions! Could this be the end of the Voltron Force?
I loved this mini series, so this review will be a review for all six books. Timeline wise, they all take place after Daniel is infected with Haggarium and develops a telepathic connection with Vince, but before Allura steps down as a lion pilot (so over the course of 2-3 episodes). I liked that they brought back the villains from the earlier 5 books, and that Maahox turned out to be the real mastermind (no surprise there). I was kind of sad to see the drule twins portrayed as loyal to Lotor, it would have been fun to see a reformed drule character. We got some minor backgrounds on other planets, and of course a trip to see the lion riders on planet Ariel. I liked that the characters were true to the TV show, but Allura showed a lot more spine. In one scene she went all momma bear on Lotor to protect the cadets, and it can be inferred she feels a strong maternal bond with all three of them, not just Larmina. Overall, definitely worth reading if you can find them. Daniel is still obnoxious, Vince is still smart, Lance is still a smart-@$$, Keith is still serious, and Larmina is still spunky. It was cool to see the cadet's biggest fears in the first book, and to see them work together as a team in the second book. Lotor is confirmed to be going crazy because of his constant resurrections and re-animations. At the end of the sixth book, some of the characters are put on ice, and everyone returns to the castle safe and sound.

I was not that impressed with this. I suppose it's since I have not read the other 5 volumes. ------------ The kids are quickly stereotyped into their "places" in the beginning of the story, with a girl who is the niece of the Princess, a smart boy, and a boy who is sure to never pass his exam. Enter the sexy villainesses to lure the boys to sneak out to a rock concert. But, instead, they take them to the villians, where they are thrown in the dungeon. Of course, the Princess's niece has followed them, as she was spying on them. So, she gets thrown in the dungeon as well. But, the heroes come to save them, and with alot of cooperation and teamwork, everyone brings the bad guys down and returns back home. ----------------------- This volume was provided to me as an eManga by VIZ Media--via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
A fantastic conclusion to this 6-volume series! Bringing back all the former villains from the previous stories, this becomes an action-packed story as they join forces with Lotor to finally take over Voltron. A satisfying ending leaves our main characters at a point of accomplishment but the storyline is also left at a point where it would be easy to follow up with a second series. I really enjoyed these characters and found this and the other stories well-written. There are also two confident, major female characters which will bring the series' appeal to girl readers as well, even though it is certainly going to be favoured by boys. A great ending to an all around fun series for the younger crowd.
